Can someone tell me why when I have my PS3 connected to the network, my loading times go straight to hell and most cutscenes sputter in every game I own? There's no downloading going on through the PS3 or anywhere else in my house. Internet speeds are fine when tested.
you don't have that nasty 'what's new' ticker bar still on do you?
Does that affect something? How would that slow me down in game?
i have no idea, but i remember people whinging about how it slowed down everything when it was first released so the consensus was to immediately disable it

Sorry if the PAL prices are off (Though they shouldn't be, as they've been uniform so far) but the PAL update didn't list prices for some lame reason. So I just went with the prices they've been in the past.

Did you turn off that media servers thing/
Yeah, that's been off for a while.

Is Vandal Hearts only for PS3, or will it work on PSPs also?
By the way, Rock Band Unplugged is BS. It requires you to get a DLC song to continue the campaign.
I have fond memories of Vandal Hearts, but I don't understand why they'd go out of the way to make a prequel and not release the original as DLC. I am intrigued though.
There's a section in New York that says 'purchase a DLC song to continue'.
Are you playing the version from the PSP store?
Yes.
That would be why. Isn't the only Downloadable version a demo? Or am I just missing something?
Regardless, the UMD version of the game is the 'Full' version of the game; not the downloadable one.
It's not a demo, it's a cheap 'Rock Band Unplugged Lite'. It comes with a few songs, but not all. It will play the DLC however. Basically, you don't get the majority of the on disc tracks, and have no way to get them either. It's also the ONLY version Australia got, because Harmonix hates Australia (we still don't have Rock Band 2).
Picked up Critter Crunch, Zen Pinball, and Braid for ~$17. Damn good deal. And the best part is that I didn't fall off the wagon in my backlog challenge, as I had enough money in my PSN wallet from the gift card I got at Christmas.
I thought about Burn Zombie Burn, but there's no demo to test it out, and from the little I know of the gameplay, I don't think it'll be my kind of game. The only reason I even looked at it is because it's half off.
Creature Defense or Savage Moon worth getting when I already have PJM?
Yeah, I thought Savage Moon was different enough from PJM that I liked it.
Anyway, from the comments on the EU PS Blog:
- FFVIII's coming to the PAL PSN on the 4th Feb (it was delayed a week)
- Heavy Rain demo is coming on the 11th Feb
- FF Dissidia's finally coming to the PAL PSN in February
- Dragon Age: Return to Ostagar DLC is scheduled for late February
- Vandal Hearts is a ways off (Konami sucks!)

Very brief impressions of the Lunar demo:
-Burg is even smaller. I bet by the next remake the spring will be a little pond in the corner of town.
-Luna's VA doesn't suit her at all. The singing voice is good, though.
-I love the music, fading out as awful.
The graphics are nice, but I can't help feeling I'd rather just play The Silver Star again. I miss the charm of the original.
And the opening song has no flow to it at all. The lyrics have little rhyme or reason. It reminds me of Wild Arms 3's OP, and that was better than this.
My interest has gone from 'day 1' to 'maybe' to 'if someone gives it to me'.
For someone who's new to the series, it'll be fine. But vets won't even want to bother.
Has anyone played Braid on the PS3? I waited for a long time for Trine and then was disappointed to find out that it was largely inferior to the PC version. I don't want to get burned a second time.

From what I've heard, it's exactly the same as the 360 version.
Wait, what? NA has Vagrant Story now or did you just make a UK account and purchase with a UK PSN card?
If Vagrant Story is on there now, I wants it.
Oh, and Critter Crunch get!
It's available in N. America. GO PURCHASE. However, it's vastly different from the first, and unfortunately, I could never find a copy of the second Vandal Hearts.

... You confused Vagrant Story and Vandal Hearts in your earlier post... I think some people around here are going to try to murder you for that.
Don't worry, I won't because Vagrant Story's already on my PSN Store. :P
The Vandal Hearts prequel was released the other day. I got all excited until I got to look at some screenies - the art style is really weird and a major turn off. It's like the whole game is in Big Head Mode.
Picking up Braid (said I wouldn't get it til it's on sale, and hey! it is.), Critter Crunch and Gravity Crash.
I was torn between ZEN Pinball and GC when I was thinking about it, and then just decided that I'm not a very big Pinball video game guy. But for anyone who is, it's had to pass up at that price.
Some nice new DLC to expect next week for Uncharted 2. Playstation Heroes (more like Mascots) skins.
Sev and a Helghast from Killzone 2, Nathan Hale and a Chimaera from Resistance and Cole (Good and Evil) and Zeke from inFAMOUS. It's presumed Sev, Nathan and Good Cole will be Heroes while Helghast, Chimaera and Evil Cole will be Villains. But Zeke...
Zeke
isn't really a hero, nor is he a villain. Sure he betrays Cole at a pivotal point in the game, but he's sort of this fifth wheel when it happens and it's left unresolved for the rest of the game. Whether he'll pop up in a sequel remains to be seen...
$4.99 for the whole package, which isn't much, but for just 7 skins and no new maps, it's not cheap either. It's certainly a cool package though. More cross-game tie-ins! Ratchet and Dr. Nefarious!
Oh, and Uncharted 2 demo next week too for you few remaining people who are still on the fence about the game. Hopefully it does a better job of selling it than Uncharted 1 demo's did for it.
It wasn't just me, I lent it to a friend and he felt the same way.
Well even soulless robots need to have soulless robot friends :P
That said, Uncharted 2 is a big improvement over the first one in pretty much every conceivable way, except for the fact that you're still running around climbing on stuff and killin' dudes.
And if you can't enjoy climbing on stuff and killin' dudes, then....then I don't even know.
