Anyway, from the comments on the EU PS Blog:
- FFVIII's coming to the PAL PSN on the 4th Feb (it was delayed a week)
- Heavy Rain demo is coming on the 11th Feb
- FF Dissidia's finally coming to the PAL PSN in February
- Dragon Age: Return to Ostagar DLC is scheduled for late February
- Vandal Hearts is a ways off (Konami Europe sucks!)

Ah cool, I was just starting to worry that it had been delayed indefinitely.
So I'm going to finally get some stuff I want from the store, and i have my sights set pretty much on pixeljunk eden and MGS, but I'll probably have enough for one more game, and i kinda want a shoot 'em up. Right now I'm deciding between gunstar heroes, soldner X, everyday shooter and super stardust. Which one would be better, preferably with local multiplayer too? Or any other good games with good local multi suggestions would be welcomed too.
Topatoi looks interesting too but I'm not too sure about it.
Gunstar Heroes is awesome, but it is a straight port of the Megadrive/Genesis game, if that's a problem for you.
Everyday Shooter & Super Stardust are both pretty cool, but I'm not a big dual stick shooter fan so I might not be the best person to give an opinion on them.
PixelJunk Shooter is great as well, though strictly not really a shooter.

Stay away from Gunstar Heroes and Soldner X. Everyday Shooter is a good game but it gets ridiculously hard and only has single player. PixelJunk Shooter and Super Stardust HD are awesome and both have local co-op (Stardust has competitive as well).
So is there anyone in the NA market left here who does not meet any of these criteria:
Hates puzzle games
Hates having a huge grin every time they quit a game
Hates spending $3.50
Hates fun
yet still does not have Critter Crunch?
Right here!

I haven't picked up Critter Crunch yet either, and I also do not meet those criteria. Maybe I should correct that.
Also, I'd go with PJ Shooter over Eden. Eden is a bit more...abstract. I like them both, but I still haven't finished Eden. I barreled through Shooter over the course of a few days.
edit: Just bought Critter Crunch via amazon, will check it out when I get home.
Apparently Konami has been emailing people who complained, that the PSN version of Silent Hill: Origins has been fixed. Can anyone who has the game confirm this? Want to know before I pick it up myself.
EDIT: People from a couple different forums have confirmed that the game is working correctly now.
Then there's the AC2 DLC ($3.99), UC2 Heroes pack ($4.99), and some LittleBigPlanet PSP DLC. (Two Level packs, $2.99 each, a Free costume pack, and there's a new patch.)
Lame. I was thinking of getting a new game tonight, and it would have been nice to get a digital one. I'm sure glad I'm not one of those poor saps that Sony conned into buying a Go.
Dear Sony - Less pinball/bowling/fishing PS1 games, more games that people actually want to play. And get on the ball with UMD legacy games, Jesus.

Like me? :P
The PSN selection is pretty good now even though individual updates may be pathetic. Now that Silent Hill: Origins is fixed, the only UMDs I want on the PSN are the Square-Enix catalog, Popolocrois, and EEE.
I only played #2. The story was something about a hot military chick rescuing her missing fiance in a giant meteor... I'd give anything to see her fine ass again
some pretty lackluster updates lately. is thexder any good? doesnt look so hot from the screenshots, but i never played the original so what do i know.
Thexder Neo has a nice presentation upgrade, but it's the same game at heart - i.e. an Action/Maze game where you run around with a mech that can transform into a jet. It's not bad, but the sequel (Firehawk) was a ton better.

I do not yet own it. Perhaps when a color-blind option is patched in. I have this problem with most puzzle games, which is why I still pretty much can only play Tetris.
Demos
Alien vs. Predator (PS3)
Battlefield Bad Company 2 (PS3)
Half Minute Hero (PSP)
Heavy Rain (PS3) - This might be a mistake, it's meant to come out 11/2
Games
Ben10 Alien Force: Vilgax Attacks (PSP)
Spaceball: Revolution (PS3/PSP)
Final Fantasy VIII (PS1)
DLC
Age Of Booty Map Pack (PS3)
Infamous - Gigawatt Blades (PS3) - Free
I'll probably pick up FFVIII and give some of the demos a go too.
Hm. FF VIII is coming to the PAL store? I wonder if Tactics will ever show up.
Seeing as it never got a PAL release on the PS1, there's really no chance of it happening. They could add the far superior PSP port but that obviously wouldn't be playable on the PS3.
If you want it, you may as well import a US PSN card and buy it from the US PS Store.
I've been considering picking up a 32GB memory stick lately. Newegg has a Lexar one for $115 with free shipping, but they were in stock for like ten seconds before they sold out, so now I'm stuck between holding out for Newegg to get them back into stock or picking one up from Amazon (who has them from J&R for a hair under $140 shipped).
Supposedly the Lexar sticks are faster than Sony, but slower than SanDisk, but I'm happy with the speeds from my 4GB and 8GB Sony Mark II sticks, so I'm not too concerned.
One of the reasons I haven't bought more stuff from the PSN is memory stick space (I added up the sizes of all of the games I've bought so far and I'm looking at less than 8GB), so having room for all of that plus a shitload more (for more games, as well as my music) is very, very tempting. My 4GB and 8GB sticks, once the very definition of "gargantuan", are now filled to the brim, bursting with 1s and 0s.
I know that the Newegg sticks are going to come back in stock the second I decide to spend the extra $25 at Amazon though.
It is an old Amiga game, yeah. Pinball Dreams was released too, and both are supposed to be pretty good ports. I've spent so much time on both in ye olden days, kind of tempted to pick it up.

Well that sucks.
I've seen a couple of people demand FFT on the EU PS Blog and I'm pretty surprised it's not well known. They can't just magically materialise PS1 games on the PSN that never got released.
There is of course the possibility that SCEE will create an imports section on the PS Store but even then, what's the chances of Square Enix bothering to release games like FFT, Chrono Trigger (the PS1 port) or Xenogears on it? Near non-existent.
Pinball Fantasies was a really good port to the PC. Was almost as good as Big Race USA and Timeshock. (almost)
I purchased the Playstation port of Big Race USA and Timeshock from Amazon when I got my PS3. Both were so bad I'm loathe to purchase Pinball Fantasies. If anyone could tell me if the port holds up to the Amiga/PC versions I would appreciate it.

I'll check out Thexder Neo and the AC dlc at least.
Nah, it was delayed a week.
I could swear all these have already been on sale for the past week. I know, because I was pretty miffed that Gravity Crush wasn't on there.
PAL PSN Store sales last for two weeks.
Ah cool, I was just starting to worry that it had been delayed indefinitely.

Might get critter crunch instead though. Looks like some form of puzzle bobble. Love puzzle bobble.
The former is a mediocre game and the latter is an incredibly lazy port.
Critter Crunch on the other hand, like Super Stardust HD and Pixeljunk Shooter, is a fantastic game.
I would say go with Shooter. Its a really fantastic (though kinda short) game.

I wish Namco would fix the soundtrack issue on the PSN version of Ridge Racer.
There's been some lackluster PSP updates lately, I'm hoping we get a good one tonight.
Comic Store Update:
Edit: And wouldn't you know it, NA update's early tonight.
-(PS3) Hustle Kings $9.99
-(PS3) THEXDER NEO ($9.99)
-(PS3) Assault Heroes ($9.99)
-(PS3) Demos for Uncharted 2, THEXDER NEO, and Vancouver Olympic Winter Games
-(PSOne) Extreme Pinball ($5.99)
-(PSOne) Hi-Octane:The Track Fights Back ($5.99)
-(Minis) Dracula – Undead Awakening ($4.99)
-(Minis) Pinball Dreams ($6.99)
-(Minis) Route 66 ($3.99)
-(Minis) Deflector ($3.99)
Then there's the AC2 DLC ($3.99), UC2 Heroes pack ($4.99), and some LittleBigPlanet PSP DLC. (Two Level packs, $2.99 each, a Free costume pack, and there's a new patch.)
So, uh, yeah, not a good PSP update.

Metacritic lists almost 500 PSP titles. (For comparison, the Dreamcast had just over 200.)
Of course, they aren't all gems...
I was just looking through the TV shows
The first season of Hey Dude is available for download
This is the most important thing to ever happen! I can only hope for the eventual release of Salute Your Shorts
Holy shit they also have Doug and Clarissa Explains It All. Nostalgia-Town, here I come
It'll be like SNICK all over again.

Oh, I guess Pinball Fantasies was an old Amiga game. I don't expect this is as good.
