Playstation Store - NA: Valkyria Chronicles 2, Castle Crash PAL: Alien Breed, FM3
I'd say it is, since the PSP translation makes me want to stab the translators, while the PSX translation, while being terrible, is easier to read
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say that you could probably count the number of people that agree with you on two hands. The new translation was fantastic.
SmokeStacks: Why you'd shit the thread up with those idiots, I don't know.
If you must know, 4 of them are from my one PS3 (3 of which were before YLOD's), 1 from my PSP and the last is my brothers PS3. Thanks for bringing this up though, you've reminded me that I have to email Sony about those 3 wasted account activations.
Looks like 3.15's coming pretty soon with some neat features:
PS3 System Software Update – 3.15
Hi Guys
The next system software update for PS3 will be available very soon. Update 3.15 is an optional update and has two key features which are explained below –
‘minis’ come to PS3:
We launched minis for PSP back in October but from the 17th December you will be able to enjoy these bite size games on your PS3 as well as your PSP. This firmware update allows the minis emulator to work on PS3 and we are working on getting the majority of the current minis ready for the PS3 from the 17th December.
Check out great titles like ‘Blast off’ (8.5/10 – IGN), ‘Fieldrunners’, “a wonderfully crafted casual nugget” (8/10 – Eurogamer) or ‘Kahoots’, “a must-buy” (8/10 – Videogamer).
If you buy a minis game from the 17th it will work on both platforms so if you have a PS3 and a PSP you will only need to buy it once and it will be available to download to your PS3 and your PSP.
If you have already bought a mini for PSP and want to get it on your PS3 as well, just go to your download list in the Store and download it again for free. The game will then work on your PS3 as well. Simple!
PS3 Data Transfer:
This feature enables you to easily transfer all of your saved data from one PS3 to another. So if you decide to get a new PS3 you can make sure you don’t loose any of your existing content. Content such as games, game save data, and videos downloaded from PlayStation Network can be transferred to the new PS3 system and deleted from the current PS3. Other content, including personal media files (photos, music, videos), can be copied onto the new PS3 and remain on the current PS3 system.
The process is really simple
1. Turn both the current PS3 (A) and new PS3 (B) on and connect them with a LAN cable; PS3 (A) should be connected to the TV
2. On the XMB of PS3 (A), scroll to the Settings menu and select [System Settings] and then [Data Transfer Utility]
3. Follow the instructions on-screen and transfer data
4. After transferring the data, follow the instructions on-screen, and then connect PS3 (B) to the TV to view the XMB
5. If content that was downloaded from PlayStation Store was transferred as part of this operation, you must activate PS3 (B) before you can use the data. Log in to the PS3 system as the user who owns the content, and then select (PlayStation Network) > (Account Management) > (System Activation) to activate the system
Look forward to your comments and will reply to as many questions as I can.
Thanks
James
Btw, I emailed Sony and I've just got to call them to confirm my details and they'll deactivate my accounts.
Edit: Turns out that data transfer still doesn't work with copy protected saves. Such a pain in the ass, fuck whichever developers decide to include them.
PixelJunk Shooter and Call of Duty Classic's there for the PS3. While the PSP is getting Tekken 6 (on friday), MGS: Portable Ops, MGS: Portable Ops+, MGS: Digital Graphic Novel and LOTR Tactics.
Also, firmware 3.15 is out.
Edit: According to Mike Kebby Vagrant Story isn't coming to the PAL PSN this year.
So the Final Fantasy Tactics on the store is just a straight port of the PS1 version, right? Is there any way to get the PSP remake on the PS3? I've never played the game, and I'd prefer to play the better version if I could.
No
The original has a scroll glitch that actually made the game more fun for me. It made getting abilities so much faster for units with a lot of abilities.
Pac-Man: CE just came out for iPhone so maybe it'll be in today's PSN update as well? I wasn't too excited about it at first since I already own the XBox 360 version, but apparently the iPhone version has different levels & challenges than the 360 version.
Will be updating the OP tonight with both updates as per usual. Thanks Unco for giving everybody the heads-up on the PAL update.
And just to let you guys know, as far as the game list goes, I'm sorry it's not done yet, but I Severely overestimated my ability to put together descriptions of games I haven't played based on videos and press (Especially considering how out-there some of them are, and how many of them we put together). When I can update later on, I'll post a list of what games are covered/can be covered by me, and put up the rest for you guys to describe. if you'd like Makes sense, since this thing is supposed to be a community project anyways. If you're bored and feeling like jumping the gun a bit before tonight, feel free to send me a PM with a game/games you want to write up, or even the write ups themselves. With any luck, we'll get it all put together relatively quick.
If you like old school games such as MegaMan 9 definately go for Castlevania X. But be warned young whippersnappers, the game plays much more like the NES and SNES versions rather than the newer Metrodians. (I thought the game was easier than MegaMan 9, but your mileage may vary)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

I bought Dracula X Chronicles, and I can't play it. Ugh.
Along with what RainbowDespair posted, the big things this week on the Store are, obviously, PixelJunk Shooter and, to a very lesser extent, Revenge of the Wounded Dragons. (Just saying, it's a Double Dragon clone, and has been talked about a lot on the blog and such. Partly because of the delay.) Both are $10. Supposedly, a PixelJunk Bundle of the first three games might be going up sometime so if you haven't gotten them already (I doubt anyone here hasn't), then there's at least an opportunity to save some.
Now, as far as the games list goes, I'll be able to do a write up for:
Braid, Crash Commando, Everyday Shooter, Fat Princess, Flower, Noby Noby Boy, Penny Arcade Adventures: On The Rain-Slick Precipice Of Darkness 1&2, PixelJunk Eden, and PixelJunk Monsters assuredly. Possibly others, but those are the games I've played or have enough resources to effectively describe.
Now, the rest of the games intended for the list are:
Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Comet Crash, Critter Crunch, flOw, Gunstar Heroes, Lumines Supernova, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Mega Man 9, Peggle, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, Savage Moon, Shatter, Super Stardust HD, Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, Topatoi (which might change, I'm getting the demo later), Trash Panic, Trine, Wipeout HD, and Zen Pinball.
As well as the PSP list:
Ape Quest, Beats, Crystal Defenders, echochrome, Everyday Shooter, flOw, Go! Puzzle, Holy Invasion of Privacy Badman, No Gravity, Numblast, Super Stardust Portable, Syphon Filter: Combat Ops, Unbound Saga, and Pinball Heroes.
It looks a little daunting, but this is volunteer only, of course. If I don't get any PMs from anyone wanting to do some write-ups, I'll try and struggle through them, but I figure this way it'll get done faster and the write-ups will be better in quality.
Now, if you want to help out, Here's a little rundown on how:
-PM me your intent to do a game (or games, feel free to pick out as many as you like, but please try to do the ones you pick out, obviously)
-Write up a paragraph explaining the game. Try not to write it as your experience with the game, just what it is, what it's about, what it offers, etc. Try to include what it supports as well as far as trophies, youtube upload, Background Music (Through the XMB), etc.
-PM it to me! (Or post it in the thread, either works.)
I'll compile them, pretty it all up and whanot, and get it done. And if you do a write up, I'll make sure to credit you, obviously. I can't really set a deadline on this of course, just as soon as you can get around to it. I think that's about it.
Pretty much the most blatant ripoff of another game this generation, yes? I do like the look of hell and the design of the monsters, but it's ridiculous how everything else is completely borrowing from God of War. Even the damn menu and transition effects.
I already know what my tagline will be should I ever review it.
It seems Envy was this game's biggest sin.
See what I did there.
Also, the animated cutscenes were more comical than likely intended. The jerky animation reminded me too much of Heavy Metal. Or Superjail.
Is Kratos stronger than Dante? Because I never really recalled the minions in GoW lasting as long as they seemed to in this demo. I thought I had to escape the room until I realized I had nowhere to go and yes, the enemies that keep getting up need to die first.
Dante couldn't even maintain his torso from being split open until the wounds conveniently formed a giant cross across his chest.
I did like the cross beams. If it had more weapons of that nature it might have helped mask the whole GoW ripoff.
I don't have a good feeling about this game, really. And it's a shame since I was hoping for another good EA franchise like Dead Space and Mirror's Edge.
Is it really a rip-off? Seems to me like it's just a newer genre so people automatically name new games under the heading as rip-offs of the first one they are familiar with.
No, it's a pretty blatant rip off. Combat is almost identical, similar presentation style, even Dante's look is trying to be as close to Kratos as possible. The stupid cross sewn to his chest is similar to Kratos' red paint thing.

Also supposedly the Modnation Racer beta starts this week also. Anyone got in? Really curious to check it out.

I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't, unless you're super paranoid about the new firmware bricking your PS3.
Also.. Holy crap!! PixelJunk Shooter is awsome.
Anyway, when's that Dante's Inferno demo going up?

Does it have online multiplayer, or only local like the previous games?

Sorry about that again, though.
This update rocks for PSP Classics! Konami Loves us again!
Gradius Collection ($20)
Castlevania: Dracula X Collection ($15)
Silent Hill Origins ($15)
Death Jr. 1 & 2 ($10/piece)
Dynasty Warriors vol. 2 ($15)
Coded Arms ($10)
Also Kurulin Fusion ($5) - Appears to Puzzle Fighter with a soundtrack done by Uematsu from Final Fantasy fame (remix of classical music)
& a couple throwaway Minis.

Depends. If it's a required update, you can't connect to PSN without getting it, whether you want the new features or not.
edit - Gradius Collection is fucking tempting.
But this update is optional.

That sucks.
What's wrong?
DXC is awesome, I feel it is my duty to do whatever I can to remedy this situation.
PSN game. I've heard good things about it, so was going to download the demo to give it a look.
PixelJunk Shooter's pretty amazing by the way.
Only if Konami's paying you that $10.
I wish PSN had more PSP racing games that didn't start with "Need for Speed".

I want to know more PA people on Twitter.
It's a 3d brawler and the guy has some red on his outfit, not really time for tinfoil hats.
