    Survivor may kinda have that, from a description i read

    "SURVIVOR:
    For the ultimate test of stamina, play Survivor Mode. Survivor allows for up to four players to enter an arena to fight waves of progressively stronger aliens. Each arena will be set up with two main areas. One will be a platform which is relatively easy to defend; the other will be an area where ambush by aliens is more likely. Supplies of health and ammo will re-spawn in this second area."

    Heading back and forth to get the ammo, while kinda self contained, may give you the feeling of retreating.

    Splitscreen i'm not sure of though.

    I was watching the survivor trailer and they were saying there's no winning, its just an endurance mode. Live as long as you can. Which is fine, ya know, I'll play that no problem, but a mode like I mentioned would be fun. For both sides.

    So like, Left4Dead with aliens? That would be pretty awesome.
    Agreed.

    I also hope these guys really support this game when it gets out the gate, I'm talking like Valve level of support here.

    I'd love tons of new content.

    You are getting support right out of the gate, though. Like... immediately out of the gate...

    Touche', but I meant like rapid bug fixes, balancing of things that seem broken and sure, more maps too after the initial pack.

    I am excited and wish I had more money to buy this right now. :P

    OOOOO demo! Fingers crossed that "demo out on thursday" means 360 AND PC.

    We also need a steam group. AvPA?

    Also, loads of good information in the steam thread: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1080669

    We need to ramp it up in here!

    I just had a peek at the achievements (I wouldn't advise looking at them, they contain plot spoilers for the campaigns) and I noticed that two of them have to do with exp amounts in multiplayer. I haven't heard anything about that yet. Does this have a CoD style unlock system or something? I don't want to have to log 15 hours of playtime just to play as a predator in deathmatch.

    The 18th, I believe. Demo on the 4th.

    Also, I just looked at the controls (2nd row center: http://www.aliensvspredator.net/forum/index.php?app=gallery&module=cats&do=sc&cat=6 ) and they seem very intuitive, except perhaps aliens having to rely on RB and LB to attack (I'm assuming the controls will just be straight-ported to the 360). I do love how they made sure to include a "hiss" button though.

    Edit: Or the 16th, I guess.

    Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

    It would be cool to do a button combo for the chuckle.

    Thought: the special kills. Couldn't they have both stealth and intimidation versions? The stealth ones are silent, the intimidation ones are loud and protracted, but great for bragging rights.

    That way, you could stealth kill most of the game, then make the game winning kill with an intimidation.

    That's what I'm talking about! Rebellion can't be so stupid as to not have learned anything from previous games, like Gears of War. Where chainsaw kills got YOU killed after you did one because they were so loud and long.

    Hopefully the kills could be approach-based, like Tenchu. Frontal cone ones get a loud intimidation kill, while ones from the rear are silent.

    Could work, eh?

    I'm buying it because 1) Extra multiplayer maps 2) I don't own the AvP comic, and would like to. The facehugger is just a bonus, personally.

    The Aliens Vs. Predator Hunter Edition is housed in collectible steel book packaging and contains the following:

    * Game Disc
    * 4 multiplayer maps before they are released to the public:
    o DOCKS: The caustic alkali waters of BG-386 put an end to Weyland-Yutani’s planned shipping activities. But this dockyard soon became a historic battleground
    o OUTPOST: The site of the original Weyland-Yutani colony on BG-386 was abandoned, and soon reclaimed by the planet’s voracious jungle plant life. It is now the perfect hunting ground for all manner of wildlife.
    o MACHINE: As well as processing exotic ores, the BG-386 Refinery provided electrical power to the colonists at Freya’s Prospect. The lights may still be on, but nobody’s home. Yet.
    o HIVE: Deep in the heart of the Freya’s Prospect Refinery lies the Xenomorph Hive. Beware all who enter here.
    * A fully articulated Facehugger model
    * Hardcover AvP graphic novel from Dark Horse Comics featuring the original comic that started it all
    * Weyland Yutani sleeve badge
    * 3D lenticular postcard

    Know what I would like? In games like this, where you're the final marine/last person in a zombie apocalypse/whatever? A choice.

    Survival should be top priority. Let me decide not to blow the station up and just get the fuck outta dodge. Give me the bad ending, but aliens are fucking attracted to self destruct buttons.

    The R2/L2 being used in the PS3 version isn't much concern if you consider paying 4$ and getting a set of Real Triggers; they rule.

    Or, assuming Rebellion isn't made of fools, imagining them including a few different configurations.

    Ahhh being part of the Wangland Steam group might justify buying this game on PC as opposed to the Xbox 360. Anyone have thoughts on the difference between the two? I loved playing as the alien in AVP and AVP 2 on the PC in multiplayer, but the Alien required a ton of sensitive control and maneuvering, which I don't think the Xbox version will deliver. I guess I can try the demo out on the PC and the Xbox and see which one I like better.

    Anyone else have any thoughts on this? (don't really care that much about graphical differences)
