Now, I ain't no fancy city slicker, but I believe we need this here thread, it is a thread that needs no sub-title and indeed, no fancy
Oh Pee. If you don't know about the Legend, why are you talking about it on the internet?
HOWEVER, WATCH THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DH9yOh9dsy8
Spirit Tracks is the latest in the series, and if you are like me, you will want to buy it! The game is set to be grimdark, as Zelda dies in the first hour! But thats not a spoiler, for you see, she fights along side Link as a spirit, and has the power to possess Phantom Guards! 'Mazing.
Also: eldery concept art for your visual pleasure~http://uk.gamespot.com/users/nicktarist/show_blog_entry.php?topic_id=m-100-25681457TOPICS, GOD!
I just thought I'd throw these out there:
1. Why do people hate Tingle? In Majora's Mask he was considered a prancing fool and a failure by his father, by contrast, in Wind Waker he is a cunning conman and extremely rich. Do we prefer him as a fuck up?
2. Can we all agree that Nintendo just reuse designs and there is no connections between the games? Or are the Twili really the decendants of Gerudo and rogue Sheikah?
2 and a bit. Is Zant the rare hundred years born male Gerudo and thats why he thought he'd become king?
3.
Bombs.
4. Is The Happy Mask Salesman good or evil or even something quite Lovecraftian?
5. Is Dampe the secret lord of Hyrule?

Guess we'll see how far they get with refreshing the series.
I fucking love him.

From what I understand there's a lot more sidequests this time, which is good. Phantom Hourglass and Twilight Princess was somewhat lacking in that department.
The battle mode in Spirit Tracks looks great too. Similar to the multiplayer in four swords adventures (which EVERYONE has to play through at least once with at least one friend, it's a lot better then you might expect), but with phantoms added in:

I'd love to see steam powered machinery carry over to wii zelda. It's fun to see Hyrule actually advancing their technology, especially given that the games thus far cover thousands of years.
Watch and be amazed.
I'm surprised more games haven't copied the concepts from MM. The repeating schedules of all the characters made them more believable, and it was much easier to become emotionally invested in them. It just gives them more life, I guess.
Thus as you can see I do not hate him.
Spirit tracks is looking good. I wish more info about Wii Zelda would surface though,
I liked the PH controls though, so I'm fine with how ST is going to be.
Aonuma says there'll be surprises at E3 2010, so I think the best we can hope for before then is a small trailer, much like we got with Twilight Princess.
Also, I love Tingle! He's different, and funny in a what the fuck kinda way. Also, that speedrun of Majora's Mask is fantastic.
I think the whole mythos stuff should be limited to tiny nods, hints and details, and not arc too long over the series. I liked the beautiful window panes in WW showing the OoT sages - more of that, less "forces of DÄRKNESS vs. generic LIGHT". The narrative and the nerdage should be plentiful, but optional and clever rather than grand and inflated. I would also like Link to express himself more and react to his surroundings. No cutscenes, just nice little details that let us get to know him. This whole "Link is the player" idea doesn't work. I want the guy to have some depth, some feelings etc.

This new Wii game better be fucking awesome, because Twilight Princess really turned me off. It wasn't a bad game, it just made the formula feel too stale. Also, make side-quest and exploration rewards that aren't rupees, especially if there's nothing in your game worth buying and when your game is easy enough that there's no need for the rupee-burning armour.

Yeah! Go Link. Yeah! Get Zelda.
So where in the Zelda time-line does Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland fall into again?
*feh*
That video causes me physical pain.
This one is better

Majora's Mask was definitely the deepest (story-wise) Zelda game I ever played. Hell, I didn't understand the plot untill I was fourteen, and my cousin gave it to me when I was 7.
What is it about this that makes people so fucking angry? Returning to the same room to use a new item to reach a new location = good. Returning to the same dungeon to use a new item to reach a new location = WHAT THE FUCK GODDAMNIT I AM LITERALLY ANGRY WITH RAGE RIGHT NOW RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH.
What the fuck is the difference between the two?
Did you just never make the connection that you can use your new items to take massive shortcuts through the place?

Well, now that they got that out of the way, I'm disappointed in this thread already. I just saw the thread title "The Legend of Zelda" and figured they had released new info on the upcoming Wii revamp, and a classic title of simply "The Legend of Zelda" would have been perfect for this.
There were 17 deaths.
And who owned a GameCube? I was the only one I knew and I'll be damned if I was paying for four controllers. Or did that control with GBAs or something like that? No one I knew had a GBA either, anyways.
Well, I thought Prince of Persia was nice.
Jesus. You really know how to make a guy feel old, don't you? I got that game... at release... my junior year in college.
also, I really enjoy the original
Damn right. And the best 3D Zelda is Shadow of the Colossus.
SotC is ok, but it's no Zelda bub.
Shadow of the Colossus is great and all, but it ain't Zelda.
