There maybe be ample time but it doesn't feel like that to a lot of people. Just knowing that you're being timed can be unsettling.

I never had an issue having an area cleared before the 2nd day was up. I can do all of Woodfall and Snowhead by Day 1 (not in one 3 day cycle mind you).
Actually the last playthrough I had started I screwed around with it a little and used a bomb trick to get into Great Bay without Epona, and beat the Snowhead Temple with the Zora mask

Zelda looks like she's having a lot of fun being dead in those trailers. I don't know how I feel about this, though. Who am I rescuing? But I have to admit I wasn't too interested in the game until I read more about it and watched the trailers. Now I totally want it.
Cartridges - CD based gaming had flopped only like a year prior blame Sega and Phillips for that. The N64 just wasn't as beefy as the Playstation in most respects so it's not a matter of the format being restrictive just the technology available being inferior.
I think you must have fallen through some sort of wormhole because this is the universe where the N64 was actually quite a bit more powerful than the PS1.

Well, who were you rescuing in Wind Waker? Zelda doesn't get kidnapped until right before the last dungeon. Hell, same for OoT.
Regarding N64's cartridges, I don't blame Nintendo for not using them. As noted, SEGA CD, CDi, etc. all seemed to make it looks like a waste.
It wasn't so much the space that was the downfall. It was the costs to make them and the lead time required to manufacture them.
If Nintendo could make cartridges that were as cheap as DVDs and had the same space, I'd be "fuck yeah Nintendo, get on that shit". I remember talking with a bunch of my co-workers, people who had terabyte storage space and built their own computers and played the crap out of their PS2s back in those days, and they all agreed that if Nintendo could make cheap carts, they'd rather buy games on carts than on the flimsy discs we use now.

Link's sister, Aryll, gets kidnapped by a giant bird in the beginning of Wind Waker in case you don't remember.
Man, I am gonna get a lot of shit for this, but this Spirit Tracks game?
Stupid, horrible concept.
Just doesn't work at all.
What doesn't work? And how can you know something doesn't work if you haven't played it?
I think Nintendo has earned the benefit of the doubt with Zelda at this point, where saying something "doesn't work at all" becomes very hard to believe.

So I got crazy into Twilight Princess tonight, beat Arbiter's Grounds, Snowpeak Ruins, and the Temple of Time one after the other. Woooooo! Some comments:
- I enjoyed Snowpeak a lot more the second time around, cuz the first time a few years back I ran around for a good 45 minutes looking for a key that was buried in the snow. Fuck.
- Arbiter's Grounds is awful until you get the spinner. Also the first half is a blatant OoT Forest Temple rip. Woo four poes, and the fourth one splits into four! I HAVEN'T SEEN THAT BEFORE
- Temple of Time's music blows, who else didn't want an epic redoing of the Song of Time pounding away the whole time? I sure did.
- The cutscene where you see the Sages attempt to execute Ganondorf is really really good.
The game comes out Sunday. It's available now in "certain circles". It's possible that Godfather played it, though impressions are typically more detailed when you say something like that.

The PSX had the edge in some areas I'm sure of it.

This is completely wrong. The N64 was way better at sound.
The cartridges just didn't have enough space to store any.

This is all personal opinion first of all, but the whole trains thing is just feels really shallow.
Like the developers got together and were all "shit guys, we need a new gimmick for our next Zelda game, what do we got?"
And for some reason they decided on trains. Trains!
In a Zelda game? Really? Really?
I guess i'm gonna have to power through this and completely forget the title exists, because the concept is too absurd for my liking.
To be fair, the Japanese do like their train simulators. How can you not? Those slender rails, the sexy whistle, that hot boiler, the gaseous releases. Wait, scrath that last one.

I mean, she's a pretty mean shot with the Light Arrows on the boss fights of TP and WW.

Oh yeah.
Still though, OoT.

Thank you.

Same difference :V
If only the sound quality was just a touch better. Still awesome though.
So for every instrument/channel you wanted, you lost 1% of CPU for your game.
One of the engineers interviewed a few years ago said he always regretted that and wish they had make the sound chip seperate like the SNES.

Aren't those from more or less the same era?
http://www.audioentropy.com/
Yes Steamboats/trains are from the same era.
BUT I SEE NO MONOCLES
Which, now that I think about it, would actually be pretty awesome. Not enough games feature historically accurate early guns.
In Japanese greenhouse gases examples, the greenhouse is a skirt.
You do realize that they love trains in Japan, right?
