Yes there we go, enacting a ban that infringes on guaranteed rights is okay because those rights aren't frequently exercised.

Doesn't matter. I didn't say it was okay. I only said that nobody cared until it became politically profitable to do so.

    People are selfish creatures, Tam.

You know, the bottom line here is, I am bad at writing words. I used some really bad analogies and a quote that was basically the worst possible quote to use.

Just, yeah, seriously, forget it. No point getting all pissed off. I just get kind of fired up when I see people taking the bait.

You see, this is the problem with me.

If I don't understand something on my terms, I don't understand it.

    I get it now.

God, why couldn't anybody draw that line. It was right there.

Edit: And Loom what's going on is that I, in a moment of depression and anger, have managed to make a damned idiot out of myself by trying to have an argument on SE++ whilst talking directly out of my asshole.

Catching up on the last half dozen pages:

    -Really regrets this username
-Still likes Boondock Saints, I don't love it but I hate the cult fans of it, Who are gushing over it still.
-I should move to Ireland, get an accent, make the ladies swoon
-Cooking: I can make various types of pastas with meats and sauces and Key Lime Pie.
-Terrible Sleep Schedules - well I fell asleep at 5, woke up at 2 and will probably be up the rest of the night
-Frozen Pizza, terrible, induces shame, but filling
-Minaret Ban: Hate the cause, but they have a well designed poster (especially compared to American conservative graphics)

    Think that about covers it.

I see no problem in banning religious symbols that promote a doctrine of hatred and intolerance.

But why you gotta pick on islam bro, they're all like that.

    Down with god, basically.

The problem is that the religion as a whole (Its official policy) isn't necessarily built around hate and intolerance.

So it's pretty unfair to throw up exclusionist policies. Like I said, I was pretty much talking out of my ass. This literature thing has pissed me right off though.

What? You don't like what we like? Oh, I guess that means you're an idiot/retard/etc etc.

Close! He actually gets his genitals replaced with elegant fold-up packaging of his own design.

Is that the nature of religion though, or just people. It's not really a religious fight, it's cultural, and historical, and about who is right. It has little to do with god or of religion other than what they use to justify their actions, which, absent a religion, which be only justified differently.
