I just wanted to ask you if you also thought that Mozart tended to be superficially theatrical sometimes. The Requiem isn't something I'd ever play on the passing of anyone I love, for instance.
Didn't he only write a small fraction of that piece directly anyway? Dude wrote a bunch of operas, he probably was just feeling out drama in all his music.
I dunno I'm more of a Beethoven guy anyway. And honestly I'm way more familiar with Jazz
So I like shows about cake like Ace of Cakes, Wedding Cake Wars, Amazing Wedding Cakes, Cake Boss, and Ultimate Cake Off. You know, the usual stuff.
Still, when they start covering shit like wood and styrofoam with fondant and butter-cream, it's not really about the cake anymore, is it? I'd much rather have an actual cake than a statue covered in frosting, you dicklicks.
Yeah, same here!
When my friends call though, I always tell them I'm watching "the game".
I don't even know what game I should be watching (football?), but they usually fill in the blank with their own conclusion.

I happened to order in one of these for my brother for Christmas, and from my quick glances it looks like it might actually contain everything ever. Statistically speaking.

Regarding Mozart,
I took a short course on the requiem as a musical structure, and I have to say that his requiem is goddamn amazing. It's true he didn't finish it himself, and had only left notes and sketches for what he was planning on doing. Overall I still thoroughly enjoy it. I also don't think "theatrical" is quite how I would describe him. I think in the context of the requiem, which is based off of the normal liturgy, things like the Dies Irae are supposed to be very 'fire and brimstone,' and that's exactly what Mozart conveys.
Fun fact, he did actually write this requiem for a friend who had died. He was quite upset about the death, and I think perhaps that comes across in the music in various ways: anger, for example, in the Dies Irae.
Also, Bach is cool but he's a completely different period. Mozart is a goddamn genius though.

Whooh.
Today had better be a good, good day. I plan on drinking, and drawing up a storm today. Not only that, but I'm going to try like hell not to play L4D2, which is probably the biggest distraction for me that I can think of.

Careful. I might enjoy it more than you'd think. :P
M_D - Oh, shit. I just took notice of your location! Portland, Maine? My family drives through there at least two or three times a year, to visit extended family in Maine, during the summer and early fall. I never go with them though....I don't see the point in feigning interest in people I can't relate to on any level based on loose blood/marital relations.
Fuck it. I should do it anyway. Just to spite everyone. That'd show y'all.
Go ahead. I'll show up just to piss you off and prove you wrong!
And shit in my mouth, right?
I don't even have a clue how to set up one of those accounts, or what program I'd need/could use on it. If one of you would give me the info, I'd probably do it. Mostly out of boredom, or curiosity.
EDIT - Fuck it all. I'ma go do some research! I'll set up an account, and do a live drawing session. If for no other reason than to goad you into actively participating, Metal!
The trap is being set, but do you have the mouth-shitting balls to take the bait?!
hey buckwolfe. it's saturday. that means you and i get to spend the day drinking alone at our respective homes periodically posting about how dead the AC is, unwilling to accept that maybe these people have some sort of weekend social life.... those bastards.

When my friends call though, I always tell them I'm watching "the game".

They accepted my offer on the condo! Just have to sort some stuff out with the bank and then I'll be the proud new owner of a penthouse condominium!
Regarding Mozart,
If you want an amazing, knock-over-the-congregation-with-its-power requiem, check out Verdi's Dies Irae.

Only nobody would show the fuck up, because I'm not all super famous on DA, or whatever.
