I keep on restarting my canon run to make my femshep look different. Even picked longer hair to somewhat alleviate the giraffe neck she always inevitably sports.
This lead to a daydream about everyone eating in the Normandy mess hall and my Shep just grazing on some leaves.
My femshep looked like Charly from "The Long Kiss Goodnight", but with a pointy nose.
You think Jenkin's shields were really that crap? He's behind the entire thing! What better way to seize control of the universe than by doing it when you're 'dead'?

Nihilus is actually an agent from the future who sabotaged Jenkins' shields. Saren knew this and killed Nihilus but had to pretend to be evil to keep from fucking up the timeline.
Woah woah. From some pages back - you can save the commander of the Salarians? I did every assist part of the plot and the commander always goes down, and the XO is the one who survives.

If I remember right, what you need to do after getting off the beach is, shoot some drones, shoot a satelite dish, uhhh play wiht some console somewhere. and maybe something else, my memory is a bit fuzzy.
Got level 60 on my canon Shepard today. I've done every single mission I could find, even going galaxy by galaxy selecting every planet and landing on every one possible. All I've got left now is half of Noveria and then the finale.
I can't wait to see how some of these missions tie into ME2. The Cerberus/Kahoku/Shadow Broker one especially.

I am playing through on Hardcore for my main Shepard right now but if I get all the way to 59 I might have to playthrough once more in order to nail level 60.
Attempted Pinnacle Station for the first time, but a first run on Hardcore with an Infiltrator is not the best of ideas. I'll just beat it on normal with my Soldier female Shepard during her canon run. I won't be as thorough with her as my main, so it shouldn't take as long.
Just saw the Tali video. I was kinda hoping the flotilla was made up of more ships, closely flying together, like a swarm or cloud drifting in space. I also imagined them to be in worse shape - rusty and mismatched and almost dangerous to fly in.

So basically, you're projecting BSG
Come on now, as if the quarians weren't ripped straight from BSG. I fully expect that at some point in ME2, the Shohreh Aghdashloo-voiced quarian will look into the camera and intone, in a voice of horror, "the geth look like us now."
Then she'll order one of the geth plants to be tossed out an airlock and it'll be awesome.
i am excited for ME2 because a lot of the super-glossy citadel presidium environments weren't my kinda thing, bring on the asteroid mining space stations
So I just found out my Hardcore playthrough is actually a Veteran playthrough.
Fuck!
Well, guess this means I can just crank it to normal to finish off Pinnacle Station, then. But it's back up to Veteran after that, I'm leveling pretty fast that way.

No no I know they survive. It's the number one reason I rescue Ashley - she gets up into the AA tower getting shot at (coz I let her lead) and presumably is there with the survivors, hence unfortunately morality says go rescue the more people.
What I mean is, I'm pretty sure the commander who gives the speech always dies. And the guy you talk to is the XO who sells stuff.
The commander's speech is actually one of my favorite for the Salarians, who always seem so meek.

The commander lives if you do all of the side missions to help them during the assault. It's easy to miss the satellite dish, so you may be forgetting that one.

In a surprising display of subtlety by the Bioware guys, there's actually more/less Salarians on board the Normandy after Virmire. If you do none of the optionals, there's like three left. More results in more survivors.

ye they survived when i did this because they where on the normandy for a while until the next stop
I'm pretty sure I took out all the optional objectives, but conversely I may have missed one coz Kirrahe always seems to go down for me. Then again it sounds like 2 are just given to you and a 3rd one may result in optionally spearing off away from the main base which would mean I don't hear it.
But in both my playthrough's the captain has always gone down but most of the Salarians are alive.
Well, there's four points that determine the Salarian survival rate, and I'm pretty sure you have to tag them all for Rentola to survive. Three outside, and the alarms. You should get the satellite uplink dish message before you end up on the drone refueling platform.

Weird. I think I must've only nailed two each time outside + the alarms. Oddly enough I'm kind of satisfied with that, since it felt like an attack that should go badly - hence the reason I always ended up sending Ashley along anyway, purely so she could redeem her family pride that sort of thing.
I have been saying that since forever. It's literally the only Asari party member possibility that might be able to compel me to get over my hatred of Asari.
I just saved all of the motherfucking Salarians, captain/commander included, and the Space Hitler died the death she wanted so she could clear her family's name.
Kirrahe and his surviving men can be found in the engineering section, sympathetic to Shepard's loss; Kirrahe says they will get off when the Normandy next makes port and find their way home. Kirrahe hopes he and Shepard might have the opportunity to work together again in the future.
Yes indeed, he says he's sure we'll work together in the future.
why would a race of people who rely on these ships let them get rusty and dangerous
they'd be patchwork and ugly for sure, but space-gypsies don't let their space-wagons get woodworm
Also: According to the books, the Quarian defense ships and Liveships are absolutely top of the line, and easily a match for anything any other race has. Their population lives on the rustbuckets, which are well maintained despite being jerry rigged.
All of their ships are armed to some extent though, so they'd be able to defeat every council race's fleet put together (while taking millions of casualties) if they had to.

And then Black Friday hit and on impulse I bought stuff to upgrade my PC, meaning it will be able to run ME now.
So now I want to get it on PC, but uuugggh, all that wasted time I just spent

Doesn't make sense to me either, but I read the description as being an opportunity to create a vastly different-looking environment.

All of the Salarians must live if they are to re-populate Neo-Salaria, which gets destroyed in ME2 or ME3.
They can't re-populate and keep the species going if you don't save every single one on Virmire.
Mordin gives me hope, of course.
It is hilarious just how little I care at this point.
THE TWO MINUTES.
Yeah, it's stupid as fuck, but who cares, it's entertaining.
Did they change the air date? Thought it was Thursdays.
Oh, I know. I actually really love the conspiracy story that's unfolding, but damn the characters and writing are awful.
Aleena.

Shiala would be cool, but she could die in ME1, so she's probably unlikely to play a big role in ME2.
But Aleena, she'd be perfect. I mean, in just every possible way, she'd be perfect.
