Jesus Christ, anyone else gone to the Royal Palace in Orzammar?
What is up with that plate right in the center of the room? It makes a sliding door sound whenever I step on it, but for the life of me I can't figure out what the hell's being opened.
Also, I didn't happen to purchase a backpack in Ostagar, so now I'm limited to only 110 bag slots. This is just poor game design, how the fuck was I supposed to know I'd need to buy a backpack from the vendor there before somethingsomething happens? How was I to know I'd never be able to go back to Ostagar ever again (barring DLC)?

I don't know. I found the way Leliana slurred her words to be annoying at times. It was like the VA was drunk through her entire session.
Well English is the VA's second language.
Understandable. Didn't stop it from sounding like that, however.
Do not speak ill of my sweet siren's vocal prowess!!!
And yes, let's put this to rest finally. YOU DO NOT need to strip your temporary characters to gain their equipment. They will automatically dump their inventory into your bags when they leave. This goes for the human noble's mom and both of the Jory and Daveth. The only time a person's gear won't be automatically transferred to you is if the game won't you to have it.
Exmaple being - Soris' wedding clothes. The game will absolutely not let you have it, even if you equip other gear on him and leave it in your inventory. It will be removed once you leave the Alienage and find yourself in Ostegar.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand now that I've brought up the City Elf origin again, more Guardian of Andraste's Temple spoilers:
My God the Guardian really, really makes you feel like shit about that situation. He's like, 'Hey, because you were too slow to get to her, Shianni was beaten, broken and gangraped. Don't you feel like shit now? Because you should.'
Orzammar throne room:
Read the poem/riddle that you find when you inspect the throne of Orzammar, then take note that if you inspect the throne again, you get a "Nothing happens" message. Search the area for two more sections that make noise when you walk over them, then try the throne again. Something neat happens!

I would like to know that too!
It's a miscellaneous quest. There's a pressure plate outside the throne room on a raised dais and two on the west side of the throne room itself, shaped like arrows. Have someone on each and interact with the throne.

This can only be done before a King is elected.
It activates the secret Tower of Hanoi puzzle.
Not really.

A Capellan's favorite sheath for any blade is your back.
You realize you get their stuff even if you don't strip them right?
No, in fact I did not.
Are you sure? Because all I was left with post-Ostaggar the first time was the stuff on our backs and a little money.
The game is fairly inconsistent with when you do or do not get shit back. Dwarf noble shit? Didn't get it back. Magi origin shit? Got it back. Gray Warden joining? Got it back. Tower of whatever? Didn't get it back. Has caused me to reload more than a few times in annoyance.
Also, guys, you know that hardest fight you guys are talking about? You don't have to win it. You don't game over if you lose it, which I didn't realise until I'd quick-loaded like 3 times upon seeing my inevitable failure. (Lure her out into the hallway away from the archers. They don't follow.)

Pretty sure we all know that. Despite this, I've still yet to actually see what happens if you lose because...well. I mean it's not that hard. This time I think I'll finally swallow my pride and let myself be defeated.
Since my harddrive decided to die on me it meant that all my saves were lost. I decided to start over with my mage/arcane warrior and I was thinking about trying out a couple of other spell combinations.
Out of curiosity, is Miasma/Paralyze line worth the investment for an Arcane Warrior or should I just stick to the trusty Horror/Sleep line instead?
Also, is there any equipment in the game that's for Arcane Warriors only?
There's a blade in the Wyrmling Cave outside of Haven that is Arcane Warrior only. You actually have to kill an Arcane Warrior for it. Can't think of what it's called at the moment.

Miasma is pure genius as an arcane warrior. In addition to making you harder to hit/damage it helps keep stuff attacking you and applies a slow.
The only AW-specific item I can think of is that sword in the urn temple, but there are some bits out there with decidedly arcane warrior-oriented bonuses.

No you don't.
I have, in fact, never fought her. I've given myself up willingly, and persuaded my way out of the second fight.

I can confirm that casting Miasma will cause everything in the room to hate your ass. I made the mistake of having Morrgan cast it on a group of zombies and she went down FAST. Faster than when you're alone at camp, even. :winky:

Miasma then have your other mage hit you with Force Field?
especially since she's too dumb to see through loghain's bullshit, despite being there at ostagar
She even hesitated to carry out the order, but still went along with it. I can see why she wouldn't have argued against Loghain's command there, it would have been more interesting to resign her command and leave in disgust afterward. I certainly wouldn't have been able to live with myself.
It's too bad they just made her a stooge. She could have had serious character potential - I'd imagine that she likely lived with a lot of guilt and shame for being the direct cause of the death of literally thousands of people - direct casualties at Ostegar, and indirect casualties from the spread of the Blight across the countryside... Imagine running into her at some point, living in isolation and shame, then convincing her to join your cause and fight against Loghain's treachary to regain her honor.
needs to be an outcome that involves her turning on loghain.
Well if you read her codex you find that
She has that poor orphan background going on. And Loghain was the one who saved her from it and helped her make something of herself. So getting her to turn on him is slim.

A female character that is neither a rogue or a mage? Preposterous! :P
Though that would have been a nice change of pace.

I was more disappointed with the apparent autofail in Redcliffe
trying to get Dwyn to sleep with you
than anything else. My cute female dwarf with 40+ Cunning should have been able to pull that off, no problem.
He won't even sleep with a female dwarf? I guess that settles it then....
Dwyn is clearly gay. I mean, look at the signs. He won't sleep with any female PCs, holes himself up in his house with two burly dudes, and likes to collect swords. Come on, all the signs are there!
Regarding Drakonais' spoiler:
That's even more of a intriguing reason for her to turn on him. I mean seriously, at what point do you draw the lineof loyalty?
So I just finished the Landsmeet, I got a thoroughly satisfying solution to it all:
Loghain decapitated by Alistair, Alistair is king, Anora locked up in a tower (though I'd like to go and assassinate her so she causes no future trouble). I promised Alistair I'd be there to help him be king - not sure I will though, depends on if I take up Morrigan's offer or not hrmm...

You know, there is really a trend of people in this game being so dumb that it feels contrived. Isolde, Catherin, Jowan, basically all the dalish elves, and who knows how many other examples I'm forgetting about.

Dude, if I was a Dalish Elf, I'd believe anything Tuvok said. Vulcans can't lie, you know.
Alastair makes it virtually impossible to sacrifice yourself if you romanced him. I took the dialogue path I thought would lead to me biting it, and he still goes and kills the dragon.
