I noticed this when I popped in SE++ a couple weeks ago and try as I might, I couldn't remember when I put this particular person on the ignore list. I figured I must have at some point and we hadn't crossed paths since. Then I noticed today someone else had their posts hidden and upon checking the ignore list, saw that it was empty. Still. I don't use the thing. So I'm not sure how these people are being assigned to it.
100k+ posts, I assume? It's like what TFS had when she broke the 100k posts. Still not sure if that is working as intended or a very creative bug in the system.
Shoe's on my ignore list, but he's not showing up on the Edit Ignore List page. Also, whenever I go to his Metal thread and I choose to remove him from my ignore list, it says it's removed him successfully, but it doesn't actually work. Is this just part of the auto-ignore system?
Will Shoe be reborn like teefs, or is he cursed to walk the forums as a silent mortal?
I'm curious as well, although to be honest I think that anyone who hits 100k posts on a web forum should have a short vacation to really think about how they manage their free time.

Who came up with the auto-ignore idea, anyway?
Shoe actually went out of his way to do it with his Ask Shoe threads. They were good threads.
Is... is there a reason for it? I mean, working as intended, that's fine, but I don't see the connection between high post count and ignoring someone. Unless it's "hey, asshole, you spend too much time on the forums, go away".
Wow, things sure have changed. Are any of those old-timers still around?
I think etoychest still posts occasionally. I think I joined sometime in 2001. I remember Grath from back then.
The forums went down sometime in 2002, iirc, and when they finally came back up in 2003, it was a whole new database, so post counts were reset. It was a dark time.

Damn, I haven't seen etoychest around (or haven't immediately recognized him) for a long time. Didn't he join his site with another? Snackbar, with Snowcone I think.
Posts
TFS did this a few weeks ago
now Shoe hit 100k
How long do post counts go back?

Teefs re-registered, I believe.
Edit: Or was reborn by Tube? I dunno. Has a new join date as October 6th. ~75 posts per day average. Ridiculous.
SteamID: Baroque And Roll
this right here.
it's just lost in a sea of "haha ironic/socialism/i am that cat irl" bullshit.
I keep attempting to remove shoe from my ignore list but absolutely nothing happens.

this is a weird feature

Non-edit: yeah, a quick search shows them posting in Critical Failures a couple weeks ago.
The avatar is a bit hard to miss.
Yeah, it's a travesty that I can still see TFS' posts but not Shoe's.
