Not much this week it seems.

The Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes game is getting great reviews for Nintendo DS. It's some kind of Puzzler / RPG hybrid. Worth checking out!

MX vs. ATV Reflex comes out for the consoles/handhelds

The Avatar movie game tie-in comes out on everything but PSP.

Rogue Warrior, something I know jack squat about, is a game published by Bethesda for the HD consoles and PC. I think it's set in the Cold War. Not to be confused with Rogue Trooper coming out for Wii this week, which looks to be a game developed by the same people who did Rogue Warrior, except, its some kind of scifi game and is apparently ported (from an earlier release) and published by someone else.

Dirt 2 comes out for PC finally. Also Zombie Driver sounds interesting but I don't know much about it.


Am I missing something or is this just a boring week?

Rogue Warrior is the game based on real life Navy Seal Dick Marcinko who also lead a team that was tasked with testing american vulnerability to terrorists. He and his team (amongst other things) infiltrated Air Force One. He's played by Mickey Rourke in the game and has such interesting dialogue as "Shit" "fuck" "oh shit" "ah fuck" and "April fools motherfucker" according to some previews from a bethesda event.

Rogue Trooper is based off a 2000ad comic book (the Judge Dredd guys). All I really know about the guy is that he has the personalities of his dead squadmates implanted into his gun, his backpack and I think his helmet.

I don't know about the Wii game, but the PC version of Rogue Trooper wasn't too bad, if somewhat generic. If the IR controls work, it may be a decent 3rd person shooter

Yeah I'm pretty sure that Wii game is a port of the original Rogue Trooper from 2006.

The original seems to have gotten decentish reviews.

Might and Magic puzzle RPG hybrid seems to be the most interesting release for the week. I hate when DS games sneak up on me from nowhere and make me want to buy them. I have a backlog to think about you know.

Call of Duty Classic apparently comes out on XBLA this Wednesday for those who didn't get one of the more expensive CoD:MW2 editions that came with it. It's a remake of the original CoD. I remember really liking the original, but it's been a long time since I played it. Not sure how it stands up against their most recent offerings.

Yeah I know, I remember it being announced and thinking ehhh might be a decent port of a serviceable third person shooter..

Oh hey Call of Duty Classic. I might just have to get that. The original Call of Duty is great, and has most of what makes the games awesome today.

So Avatar's finally out? I wonder if it's as mind-warpingly overblown as Cameron's rambling from E3 made it out to be. And I just knew Rogue Warrior was going to be some mediocre macho suckfest from the instant I laid eyes on it on Steam.

Rogue Trooper on the Wii came out ages ago in the UK, and yes, it is a waggleport of the last gen game of the same name.

The demo for MX v ATX Reflex was pretty impressive, and I normally don't like that kind of game.

It has pretty clever controls (think something along the lines of skate adapted to a racing game), great graphics (mud deformation like in Sega Rally), and is a lot of fun to play.

I tried the demo of Call of Duty Classic...it seems like a decent port of the PC original. They re-compressed the opening video for some reason so it now looks worse than it already did, and there's no anisotropic texture filtering of any kind, so some of the textures are pretty messy. Plays nice and has a good frame rate though, I'll probably pick it up.

I really wish it was 10 dollars instead of 15, but then I remembered that it's an Activision product.

According to Gamestop.com you can order it right now, it's listed as "Available."

It's also showing "in stock" at the local gamestops around here too.

I just saw a TV commercial for Rogue Warrior.

I can't believe they're spending the kind of money to put commercials on television for this game.
