    Yes.

As for the bullet drop - It is indeed true, you need to take into account the distance of your shot. The assault rifles seem to be good for up to 30m before it starts to get really bad. Plus recoil has a big part to play now too.

Also the lack of going prone HASNT been missed by me. You are on the move so much in the game, and all prone would do is make bunny hopping easier.

That disappoints me for the realism mods in the future, like Project Reality, where the game is slowed down to a slower, more believable pace and going prone for firing and cover is vital. Ah well. There's always BF3.

Still, I'm sure this will be enjoyable. I'll reserve judgment about lack of prone when I get in the game, but it's likely I'll agree with you considering the game's fast-paced nature.

Yeah I want the crouch to be a toggle and the sights to not be a toggle.

Also I'd like for the game to stop crashing after I played for an hour without any problems.

Can you browse servers or is it matchmaking at this point? EDIT: Apparently I'm a slow typist.

there's no prone? i'm kinda glad. all previous games have been full of people hitting the deck IMMEDIATELY whenever a firefight starts. like two dudes turn a corner and see each other and their first reaction is not to fire but to jump on the ground while shooting. it's silly

Someone said in the thread that there won't be any SDK's for BC2, so this was never going to be possible :(

Noticeable bullet drop at 30m? I'll have to get used to that, I'm used to more realistic values thanks to ARMA II.

Edit: As for going prone, in ARMA II it's done nicely, you can't shoot while going down prone, and it's not an instant belly flop.

Dont quote me to much on the 30m.. I was too busy getting shot at to REALLY see how far it was. But I couldn't just spray bullets from a long distance and kill everything. I had to fire is bursts and readjust for terrain.

I didn't do too much sniping, and I honestly cannot tell if it is hard in the game because it was laggy for me. People would hitch-rubberband a lot. However the scope is not always clear, and it's cloudy, so you won't see everything, mainly just what you are shooting at.

There is a normal server browser as well as matchmaking. Unfortunately, like DigitalSyn said the latency field is non-functional at this point so it's very hard to find a good server. Also, currently there is something down on EA's end and no one can play.

I haven't noticed bullet drop to be that extreme, at least with the engineer's SMG -- I couldn't hit some guys probably 150m away but other than that it seemed pretty accurate. Firing in bursts, of course.

Edit: I wish there was prone so I could hide from tanks more easily, but overall it's better not having it.

prone should be in the game, it should just be on a big cooldown and have significant drawbacks such as momentary immobilization

Agreed completely. The issue with BF2 is that going prone offers an immediate reduction in cone of fire and recoil, but you suffer little to no immobilization. The reality is, you should have a brief increase in cone of fire and recoil before it reduces once you are on the ground, and it should take some time to get back on your feet and sprinting.

I read somewhere that they were specifically adding prone in to BC2 PC, but would be excluding it from console versions. I hope this hasn't changed and this is just a beta issue!

This is the great benefit of having no prone. Dolphin diving / snap-prone shooting was extremely annoying, over powered, and cheap as a tactic and I'm glad that's not going to be a problem.

Sucks about probably no SDK for BC2, but this really wasn't high on my list of anticipated titles. I'm still holding out on BF3, mainly as far as BF games go.

My game crashes when I click on Server Browser. It says something about loading with that little spinning dial graphic-thingy, and then it pauses and *POOF*: Crash to Desktop. Also, the game starts windowed for some reason. All I have to do is click on it and it loads full-screen, no problem, but it's still weird.

Really all they had to do was add a substantial penalty for diving... like not being able to shoot, a significant delay between diving and being able to aim again, and it taking 2 or 3 seconds to stand up again and also not being able to shoot while getting up.

I think that if it was done that way the tactic could be used as it would in the real world. Red Orchestra and Day of Defeat are probably the only games to ever get prone right.

Played a few rounds on 360 as I couldn't find a pc key.

It's pretty fun, I actually got into a decent game where everyone didn't go recon for a change and people knew how to drive. The destructable stuff is good, didn't do much as I was playing medic, but being able to sneak around the back of an enemies base and cut in a hole in the fence rather than finding one doesn't sound like much but makes a big difference.

Also medic is still the best class.

I quite enjoyed my few rounds in the Xbox 360 demo. There's nothing like coming up behind 3 snipers and then knifing all three one right after another. And then doing it to the one one floor up. Oh, the rage as all four hunted me down. I quite like my collection of (now) 5 dogtags.

Also had another round where I manned a stationary MG that overlooked the approach to our base. I spent the time between shooting mans and spotting tanks to start removing the tree cover they were using to snipe from and slowly advance through. I am anti-green.

    Fun fun fun times.

Sound is excellent, using the Engineer Repair Gun to RIP a tank apart is soooooo funny, and it plays pretty quick for the most part.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
