Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I'd say 5-10 seconds. If you spot attackers as they parachute down, it's usually gone right after they land.

The question I have is does the spot work for your whole team, or does it just mark enemies for your own squad?

Fairly certain it's the whole team

I've gotten the bonus points from someone outside of my squad killing a tango I Spotted, so I think it's team-wide.

It also seems to last longer than the 10 seconds if someone still has visual on them.

So, quick question from someone who has only played brief sessions of BF2 and MW2. I want to get into another military-esque online FPS for the PC, and MW2 has really turned me off with the whole dedicated servers, 9v9, and multitude of glitches. However, I absolutely love MW2's slickness, presentation, and overall combat mechanics. Hearing of BC2's destructible environments and modern setting really interests me, but I have no idea what the actual gameplay is like (videos are nice, but I really have to play it to decide, and I can't atm).

Therefore, could someone give me a really brief summary of the core gunplay differences between MW2 and BC2? I've noticed that it takes more shots to kill someone in BC2, judging from the videos, for example, and explosions are much less dangerous due to the smaller radius.

I have a question about the c4 rushing, could you have someone launch the uav, strap the uav with c4 and fly it into the objective and detonate from the distance?

On hardcore the guns and explosions resemble MW2 a whole lot more. I'm sure that once the full game is released, there will be servers running hardcore, without removing the HUD/Minimap as well.

DICE has also stated they've reworked the gun mechanics already, it's just not in the beta.

I think the only thing this beta (or any other online game) has proven is that given any amount of freedom, players will immediately find the most efficient way to be assholes to each other.

That said, I had fun trying to launch people on quads into the atmosphere from our spawn tonight. :)

Heh, true enough. I remember playing COD2 or something like that and using the delay on the melee attack to hit teammates.

So i just downloaded the BETA and jumped in. Everything looks nice and all but my movement keys wasd get stuck constantly which makes moving anywhere retarded. I'm deffinately not going to be playing the game with this hilariously bad movement issue. I hope they patch the beta and fix it so I may be able to play. >< Anyone know anyway to fix this? or am I at the mercy of the beta/retail patches?

I joined an empty server and spent a few round figuring out the C4 placements necessary to take down any destructible building and it's been fucking awesome. Most can be taken down in 6, and there is literally nothing more satisfying than laying down some fire on a sniper who's holed himself up in the attic and then just tearing the whole fucking building down as he waits for you to come up the ladder.

I was also messing around with C4 trying to bring down houses earlier. Assault kit with any gun that can't mount a nade launcher is a good setup because it gives you C4 instead. You can replenish your own C4 with the ammo crate which is nice.

Anyway I planted a bunch on all the support beams of one of the smaller houses. I ran out and set it off, waiting for the crash, but it never came. So I ran back inside to plant a couple more. Then came the *crack* *creak* *CRUNCH* as it turned me into a pancake.

I really hope they fix the UAV being able to just crash into everything and not take any damage itself. What's the point of using the apache and blackhawk now if it just gets knocked into the ground as soon as it takes off?

Also, I'm fairly certain they didn't intend for people to get on top of that cliff near the second B site.

What's the spot button on the PC? I have a strange feeling it's Q, which I bound to grenade instead, and I can't find the option in the menu to bind it to something else.

By this logic, I shouldn't be able to crouch since it slows me down.

On an unrelated note, I hope they bring back the commo rose. I've been told that in order to call a medic, I need to actually have line of sight with one and spot him, which is pretty terrible. I'd rather go back to the BF1942 method of using the function keys than do that.

Also, shooting whenever you're trying to spot something is annoying.

Yeah, I complained about this new contextual system a few pages back as well. It's a huge step down from the rose that BF2142 and BF2 used, which was a really notable piece of brilliant UI design.

I hope the full version isn't going to be as infrantry-centric as it sounds to be. The destructibility really comes into its own when you're in a vehicle, and tank versus tank battles across large, flat maps would be fantastic.

Definitely. I'm all for having spot be separate for when you want to be stealthy about something but if I'm shooting at a dude you can bet I've spotted him.

Edit: oh I read that as left-click, as in fire, as in for pc

So I'm defending M-COM station A at the first area, and decide that the house it's in needs an impromptue new window fitting. POP, rifle grenade to the wall makes a nice new shooty hole. I proceed to take up position and plink at guys across the road.

Then there's this reeeeaaallllyyy unwelcome groaning noise from all around me.

"Oh shit, I hope this isn't OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII-" THUMP. House collapses, taking me and the objective with it. Fuck I felt like a moron for that. The structural integrity of the buildings is very hard to pinpoint.

I went on one of of the mounted MG's inside of a house and had a guy blow up the wall and window so it disappeared. I'm not sure if it was because he wanted that MG or if he was too lazy to use the stairs to get out of the building.

1943 is not a full Battlefield experience. It's a partial Battlefield game designed to be sold on Xbox LIVE and PSN for a cheap price. It's basically just a novelty.

Managed to fraps some stuff last night. It says I was recording at 75 fps when you play it back. I was playing with eighteen. I'm gonna do a medic montage. It's called
    Stayin' Alive.
There was one amazing part where I was on the front lines handing out health when I hear FUCK I NEED A MEDIC. So I run full pelt towards the right side of the construction site behind the low wall, when a tank shell just launches the guy right in front of me, and he ragdolls through the air. I changed course immediately and paddled him right on the spot.

    2. if you run anywhere except for right at the objective, you get killed for exiting the combat zone.
