Multiple UAVs in the air give you quicker refreshes though.

it's really annoying too. . . I got a supply crate multikill right after prestiging so it didn't count toward my "kill people with supply crate" quest.
they do that but I'm more of a fan of having constant UAV overwatch.

Ah ok thats what I figured re: Pave Low.
The UAV/copters etc makes sense. Is there some indicator as to when the halfway point on a UAV then or is it just knowing the length and guestimating? I am usually more worried about shooting mans so I rarely glance at the UI much. And even then its just the radar.
Finally found the joy of a knife build last night, cleaning up in free for all (I generally suck at this game).
It was amusing hearing how "cheap" my strategy was from a bunch of people using glitches, or from the others (about 80% of the MW2 userbase, I've found) who just camp in an obscure place for five minutes until they can get enough kills to let a predator/helicopter/etc do all the work for them. Because that's the "real way" to play the game, I guess?
I didn't pay $60 to stare at a wall hoping for someone to cross my vision.
Since i started using the riot shield with my knife build its been a lot more effective. Less chance of getting backshot and if someone seems me i can pop a shield and get closer. Its especially nice when one or two teammates are backing you up since opponents can't seem to decide on what the biggest threat is.

UAVs last 30 seconds, I believe. Just watch your radar - when most of the orange targets disappear and the tracking line stops scanning across it, the UAV's done.

Wait. So in the space of one post you laughed at the people who complained about your own strategy, then in the very next goddamn sentence complained about their strategy.

Nickle is the honourable Bushido warrior, going forth to fight his battles face to face, sword in hand like a true warrior. Not like those other dishonourable foes who merely hide and kill from the shadows. Where is their warrior spirit Scarab? WHERE?!

I've just been rolling with a p90 (acog) and the usp (tac knife duh). Marathon/Lightweight/Ninja. I've gotten really good at using the pistol, so I generally just pull out the p90 for longer distances or when I come across a group.
Commando seemed nice, but I kept getting stuck on objects when I tried to "dash", and silent footsteps w/ no heartbeat sensor is great. I often hunt down campers just so I can stand behind them for a few seconds before putting a pistol round in their skull.
Sorry, I understand camping is a good tactic, but man if it doesn't make nearly every match boring. If you're going to just camp until you can call a killstreak, I am going to make it a personal mission to hunt you down. Also, I suck at camping, so there's that.
e: if you read carefully, you'll notice that I don't exactly call their tactics cheap, just that it was funny that they call mine cheap, since I could say the same of theirs. I wasn't the one screaming profanities in the lobby. Probably because I don't really care, and just like having fun.
OH SHIT I'D BETTER GET BACK TO SCHOOL I CAN'T READ
Edit: OH NO THEY WON'T LET ME IN BECAUSE I'M SO DUMB WHY IS THIS HAPPENING
Were you one of the people in that lobby?
Because I'm not sure what I did to piss you off?
I'm sorry you jumped all over me because you wrongly perceived my comment as a sleight to your (possible) playing style?
Nothing really. Just that I found it weird that you took some sort of high ground over people playing how they want to play the game. All play styles are appropriate, so they complained about how you played the game? Doesn't matter. You turned around and just complained about them, saying they let killstreaks do all the work for them. As though that's bad.

I wasn't trying to take any high ground, really. I already said I suck at this game. I just thought it was amusing to get harassed over my play style, when I could levy the same complaints against others if I really cared. Especially considering I'd just adopted said playstyle for the first time earlier that night.
I was just happy to actually win a few games. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I love C4. I hate the way it's setup now. I swear I'm the only person in the world that preferred the detonator to the shortcut.
Dumb question time! what is the shortcut? (on the PC preferably)
Anytime I switch off my frag grenade i find there are far too many situations in which I could kill someone if I had one equipped. I've gotten pretty good at cooking off the nade and throwing it so it explodes just at the right now. Thank you TFC nade practice a decade ago.

Did you kill someone with the supply crate, or the stuff inside it?
The challenge is to drop it on someone.
Which happened to my team amte last night and it was fucking hilarious.
I killed someone the other day with my supply crate. Pure luck. And if it hadn't killed him I'd have gotten the stabby-stabby treatment from him. :P
I think I got the "Heads Up" title with a blimp on it for that one. Can't remember if it came with an emblem.

the crate itself. . . threw it down in the corner of quarry with the 2 containers, the broken down wall that overlooks cap point C
suddenly 3 guys spawn right there, it hits the corner of the container and flies at like mach 10 straight at the group of dudes. but I was low level and hadn't unlocked the actual challenge yet.
Played shields only for a few rounds last night and ... holy shit ... it was the most fun I've had with MW2 to date. It'd be damn cool to have a public game-type like that.

Sometimes the physics on the crates is hilarious.
I got a Air supply once, and all four crates just shot around the map like they were tennis balls. One of them killed me.
The challenges really aggravates me sometimes. I'm not that great of a player but went 12-0 on TDM Derail a few days ago. I hadn't unlocked the challenges for 10 kills with no death and no death in an entire round yet :?
p90, what? I'd think the ump would be better if you wanted to do anything long distance but still retain top speed. not a personal preference, just actual hard facts I'd think.

Maybe, but shooting the P90 in tiny bursts turns it into a sniper rifle. I was picking people off accross Quarry with a red dot P90 the other day. It surprised even me, I'd hate to hear what the other guy had to say.

Well, the old satchel charge/C4 on the 360 was set to tapping X twice. PC? Heck if I know, maybe reload twice?

I tried a shield-and-knife build, but the added protection didn't quite make up for the serious speed hit. For my style of play, I find that mobility trumps all for a knife build. Hold points, cover spots and the like always have at least two pathways for access. It's been easier for me to run like the wind and surprise someone on their blind side than take them head-on. Even when I'm spotted or they see me on radar. I like that they know I'm there but can't ascertain exactly where and when I'll be coming for 'em.

I'll actually advocate dual M93s for riot shield backups. Pair em' up with Last Stand too if you feel like being a dick, it works wonders on maps like Terminal. Multi-kills in Last Stand are awesome.

I don't know, I haven't really tried any other sub machine guns. I have a love for the p90 dating back to Goldeneye. It also allows me plenty of bullets to make up for the lack of pistol rounds.
It works decently at range, and I really haven't found a better gun for "spray at pray" situations. Just so many bullets. I played around with akimbo, but I can't hit crap with it, for whatever reason. You'd think some of those bullets would hit at 5 feet out but you'd be wrong.
t Scarab: sounds good. I couldn't stay mad at someone with a Road to El Dorado theme, anyway.

I just tried shields for the first time today while playing with j0sh, and it was so fun. Sometimes I take this game far too seriously and forget about having simple fun. j0sh and I were running around bashing heads, and then the enemy team started spawning with riot shields after they saw us. We had a lot of epic shield versus shield fights. It was hilarious and hugely enjoyable, even if I didn't get my usual high score.

Can't we all just agree that people who use akimbo 1887's are the worst?
Because come on.
e: Yeah, this game pissed me off for a while until I remembered I was supposed to be having fun. I really didn't enjoy it until I started just playing however I want, without worrying about k/d ratios or what strategy everyone else is using. As a side effect, I'm actually doing better. My ratio went from a low .5X to a high .6X overnight.
So I switched from the Barret to the Intervention.

In a couple of matches, I've already unlock the silencer, and the first camo for the gun. Having Cool Blooded on really helps with staying hidden. I can't wait to go home and start unlocking the gillies camo's. I'm close to the first unlock.

I would like it, actually, if there were at least one mode without killstreaks.
I love getting/using killstreaks, and I like what they add to the game, don't get me wrong.
Just one mode with straight up killing, just to get a break from all of the damn chopper gunners.
