I vote Sandel to be in the sequel (preferably as a recruit)

Seriously! With his ungodly raw power, he could have pwned the Archdemon to a pulp, allowing the MC (or Alistair) to finish the dragon off.

The more I talk to Zevran in-game about his previous adventures, the more I want to play an Antivan Crow (in Antiva) in a sequel/xpac.

    Get on this Bioware!

Okay I bought this for my 360 and I'm having a whole bunch of trouble with it. Mostly, I'm finding it really boring. I'm a mage of some kind.
I just had Kate Mulgrew's daughter witch thing join my party.

Do things... start moving now? Some of the dialogue has been fucking sleep-inducing so far. Literally, I have fallen asleep 3 times playing so far. I want to love thee :(

So arcane warrior is pretty heavily bugged.

Specced into it and equipped the blood dragon armour and a greatsword, but although I am wearing it I'm still shown as wearing my robes and a staff in the game. Although my staff is now carried upside down on my back and swung like a bat.

That's not a bug with Arcane Warriors... just a general DA bug. I've had that happen on other characters when I changed their armor or weapon; the graphic just doesn't change.

Save the game, exit, and restart, and it should be fixed.

In other news, I've got every dwarf in Orzimmar pissed at me apparently:
Playing my City Elf warrior, I've been doing both Bhelen's and Harrowmont's quests, each of them believing I'm working for them against the other. I've gotten both quest chains to the point where they are each sending me into the Deep Roads after Branka.

Before leaving the city, however, I decided to head over to the Proving Grounds to take care of that 'thief in the Shaperate' quest, only to get jumped by both Harrowmond and Bhelen fanatics... at the same time!

They didn't seem to be aware of each other, they just all attacked my group. That was a mad fight against a huge swarm of shorties. :D

I'm really liking the difficulty level as a mage. At first it was pretty difficult and I felt fragile, but I've reached a point where I can easily roll through most encounters but a few unlucky resists can still spell my doom. I'm running around with 3 mages now and can crowd control most fights to death.

Ah hah! This is where the thread ran off to. I just got to the part (begining spoilers - 4 hours in at most?)
Where I'm rescuing the Arl from his crazy possessed son, and it was the damn mage that was my buddy in mage school who was poisoning the Arl. I'm choosing to kill the kid because I hate that damn blood mage SO MUCH! I just don't trust him. I had to save right after making my choice as it was getting late...

Did I do the right thing? I suppose I can't really do the wrong thing in this game. What did you guys choose to do? Also Sten is really kind of a downer.

Oh, and one more thing, is the dog helpful in a party, or is it a poor substitute for a human companion? I named mine Brick.

You're right that there is no right or wrong thing. Its a question of where your morals take you.
As for me, I went to the mage tower to get some backup to save the kid without having to sacrifice the wife. My character was not a fan of no win situations, so he decided to find a way to save both. If I had been playing a different character, I'd have probably killed the kid.

Zevran is pretty rad, I agree. Although it is pretty funny that the only elf in your party is gay.

Or is he bi? I just got him about an hour ago.

Mine didn't have much of a choice. I did the Mage tower before Redcliffe, and my character hated mages. I pretty much sided with the Templar's Annulment plan. I used Wynne right up to the stairs before meeting Uldred, and I killed her right after. So when the demon possesed child scenario came up, I pretty much killed him. I couldn't rust Morrigan to go after the demon (since I already said my character never trusted mages), so the only option left was to slay him. When Isolde was like "WTF!", I just gave her the stink-eye, believing pretty much everyone (with the exception of Arl Eamon) in the castle was at fault for this disaster.

Haha, the answer is sorta yes to all of these.

For the most part, get their approval up and say a few key things, depending on who it is. Then talk in camp. (Or the Pearl, possibly)

I also killed Jowan in his cell, which pissed off Morrigan and Alistair, the ingrates. So basically no other option was left but to kill the boy.

The game does make it pretty hard to go through with, trying at several points to make you consider other opportunities, but in reality it lead up to one of the most satisfying moments in the game.

Yeah, its an RPG. Its not like people are crazed master swordsmen or can shoot fire from their hands either. The whole point of the story element is to fall into a different role.

Wouldn't work. Can't get her personal quest until you give her the book, and then talk to her in camp.
If she leaves you at the mage tower, it's before you return to camp to get the quest, as you can't leave the tower without finishing it, and the book is in the tower

    I heard:
that in the Prima guide, it says if you do the Mages Tower the Templar way and Morrigan is in your party, you can oust her as an apostate and she'll leave for good.

Huh I wonder what happens if you've picked up her character quest but haven't gone to kill
her mom yet. It would be so nice if they were both there to fight ;)

Wouldn't work. Can't get her personal quest until you give her the book, and then talk to her in camp.
If she leaves you at the mage tower, it's before you return to camp to get the quest, as you can't leave the tower without finishing it, and the book is in the tower

Ah I wasn't sure when the outing her would happen, since you can always visit the tower again after completion. I've always maxed rep, which is why the idea of pissing people off intentionally is intriguing.

@Ranadiel: Any idea if you can complete her quest after dismissing her though?
Also it sounded from the description that outing her made her never come back.

    Regarding Morrigan:
Morrigan will always offer the Dark Promise when it reaches that point, even if you treated her like shit the whole game or dismissed her under any means prior to that. If you reject her offer, obviously, she'll leave in a huff and will never be heard from again.

It makes sense that despite whatever happens prior to that night, she'd still make the offer....but if you haven't gotten there yet I won't spoil it for you.

Oh I've gotten there, just always on good terms with her. However given that certain banter things only come up if you do jackass things
    (like let Loghain live)
, I was thinking there might be some hidden funny/unique things that happen if you play the game bizarrely in other manners
(like finding a way to piss off M enough so that she never comes back, ever)
