I don't think Sten would have been convinced simply by tits. Who knows, he may have even been hitting on you, in his own unique way, but just couldn't go through with it.
If I remember right, you can say something like "Sten, are you flirting with me?" and he gets all frowny and says "What the hell is 'flirting'? Use real words."
I could see him being "damn I am one smooth operator" afterwards.

Okay I bought this for my 360 and I'm having a whole bunch of trouble with it. Mostly, I'm finding it really boring. I'm a mage of some kind.
I just had Kate Mulgrew's daughter witch thing join my party.
Do things... start moving now? Some of the dialogue has been fucking sleep-inducing so far. Literally, I have fallen asleep 3 times playing so far. I want to love thee
Yeah, you're going to start actually questing, learning the mechanics for getting/turning in said quests and the like. After that initial town and learning curve, the world opens up.

Just started this game last night as a Dalish Elf. I can feel I'm on the precipice of the deep hole that is Dragon Age: Origins, and I think I may just jump in head-first.
Specced into it and equipped the blood dragon armour and a greatsword, but although I am wearing it I'm still shown as wearing my robes and a staff in the game. Although my staff is now carried upside down on my back and swung like a bat.

That's not a bug with Arcane Warriors... just a general DA bug. I've had that happen on other characters when I changed their armor or weapon; the graphic just doesn't change.
Save the game, exit, and restart, and it should be fixed.
In other news, I've got every dwarf in Orzimmar pissed at me apparently:
Playing my City Elf warrior, I've been doing both Bhelen's and Harrowmont's quests, each of them believing I'm working for them against the other. I've gotten both quest chains to the point where they are each sending me into the Deep Roads after Branka.
Before leaving the city, however, I decided to head over to the Proving Grounds to take care of that 'thief in the Shaperate' quest, only to get jumped by both Harrowmond and Bhelen fanatics... at the same time!
They didn't seem to be aware of each other, they just all attacked my group. That was a mad fight against a huge swarm of shorties.
I'm really liking the difficulty level as a mage. At first it was pretty difficult and I felt fragile, but I've reached a point where I can easily roll through most encounters but a few unlucky resists can still spell my doom. I'm running around with 3 mages now and can crowd control most fights to death.
Ah hah! This is where the thread ran off to. I just got to the part (begining spoilers - 4 hours in at most?)
Where I'm rescuing the Arl from his crazy possessed son, and it was the damn mage that was my buddy in mage school who was poisoning the Arl. I'm choosing to kill the kid because I hate that damn blood mage SO MUCH! I just don't trust him. I had to save right after making my choice as it was getting late...
Did I do the right thing? I suppose I can't really do the wrong thing in this game. What did you guys choose to do? Also Sten is really kind of a downer.
Oh, and one more thing, is the dog helpful in a party, or is it a poor substitute for a human companion? I named mine Brick.

You're right that there is no right or wrong thing. Its a question of where your morals take you.
As for me, I went to the mage tower to get some backup to save the kid without having to sacrifice the wife. My character was not a fan of no win situations, so he decided to find a way to save both. If I had been playing a different character, I'd have probably killed the kid.

Mine didn't have much of a choice. I did the Mage tower before Redcliffe, and my character hated mages. I pretty much sided with the Templar's Annulment plan. I used Wynne right up to the stairs before meeting Uldred, and I killed her right after. So when the demon possesed child scenario came up, I pretty much killed him. I couldn't rust Morrigan to go after the demon (since I already said my character never trusted mages), so the only option left was to slay him. When Isolde was like "WTF!", I just gave her the stink-eye, believing pretty much everyone (with the exception of Arl Eamon) in the castle was at fault for this disaster.
M: "You look so lost in thought, dear Sten. Thinking about us...together?"
S: "Yes."
M: "Yes well...what did you say?"
S: "You'll need armor, I think. And a helmet, and something to bite down on. How strong are human teeth?"
M: "How strong are my teeth?!"
S: "Qunari teeth can bite through wood, leather, even metal given time. Which reminds me: I may try to nuzzle, in which case you'll need an iron pry-bar. Heat it in a fire first, otherwise it may not get my attention."
So how do you get down to biznazz with your party members, just through talking to them randomly or to I gotta find some seedy motel, or be in camp, or have that person like me a bunch or what?

Haha, the answer is sorta yes to all of these.
For the most part, get their approval up and say a few key things, depending on who it is. Then talk in camp. (Or the Pearl, possibly)

Approval values for sexytimes vary based on the character in question as well as your PCs gender. It happens at camp and you only get to see the cutscene once (thank god).
In camp, Morrigan you have to chat up a bit, Leliana and Alistair have to be in love with you first, and Zevran you basically just have to say "hey, wanna go do the nasty?"

Before following any advice, opinions, or thoughts I may have expressed in the above post, be warned: I found Keven Costners "Waterworld" to be a very entertaining film.
I hate you, BioWare. I just heard a banter between Leliana and Alistair about my relationship with her and they both kept referring to my character as he and him.
BioWare ruins everything about everything.
I'm glad someone else plays as their own gender in RPGs. I can't stand people who go all "Haha, I only ever play as the other sex, cause then I'll get to stare at their hot ass when I play the game for hours on end." I fucking hate those idiots. Hate em, hate em, just wanna gouge their eyes out. Seriously, who stares at their third person avatar when they actually play? What, you're just fixated on that polygonal body of yours and never look around at anything else? Shouldn't you actually be looking around at the environment and enemies ahead and where you're going and all that?

My City Elf did things much the same way as this.
RE: Redcliff spoilers
I also killed Jowan in his cell, which pissed off Morrigan and Alistair, the ingrates. So basically no other option was left but to kill the boy.
The game does make it pretty hard to go through with, trying at several points to make you consider other opportunities, but in reality it lead up to one of the most satisfying moments in the game.

Where did that even come from? I'm confused.
I usually just alternate from time to time given the info I know. Last played as a male protagonist? play as a female. They are just characters...

Yeah, its an RPG. Its not like people are crazed master swordsmen or can shoot fire from their hands either. The whole point of the story element is to fall into a different role.

He'll never leave, but he get does snippy and then pissed when you choose the appropriate responses and genuinely seems to hate you forever.

Spoilered just in case:
There are two companions who will never leave you until the appropriate story point occurs.
Morrigan will only leave if you refuse her 'deal' right before the final battle.
Alistair only leaves if you spare Loghain during the Landsmeet.
Otherwise, no matter how much they hate you, these two will never leave your party.

I heard:
that in the Prima guide, it says if you do the Mages Tower the Templar way and Morrigan is in your party, you can oust her as an apostate and she'll leave for good.

Wouldn't work. Can't get her personal quest until you give her the book, and then talk to her in camp.
If she leaves you at the mage tower, it's before you return to camp to get the quest, as you can't leave the tower without finishing it, and the book is in the tower

Morrigan will always offer the Dark Promise when it reaches that point, even if you treated her like shit the whole game or dismissed her under any means prior to that. If you reject her offer, obviously, she'll leave in a huff and will never be heard from again.
It makes sense that despite whatever happens prior to that night, she'd still make the offer....but if you haven't gotten there yet I won't spoil it for you.

Zevran is pretty rad, I agree. Although it is pretty funny that the only elf in your party is gay.
Or is he bi? I just got him about an hour ago.
