Leliana's VA was in development for over twenty years and is using a language she started to build up from scratch starting late in her development cycle.
Given how long the VA was in development, we're lucky Leliana sounds as good as she does and sings as well as she does. Many VAs that find themselves in development this long usually end up being buggy, unoptimized messes that talk like crap because they found themselves in development hell for all the wrong reasons.

What?
So i'm not the only one confused by what he meant.
"Given how long the Voice Actor has been alive, its amazing that her voice sounded good"

Well, given that her VA is French and probably speaks French natively and only learned English later on in her life, we're lucky that Leliana sounds as good as she does?

My girlfriend is French, she's from Versailles. Needless to say she speaks English and does it beautifully, yes the accent is there but I think it's damn charming. You should hear her go RAWR, seriously.
Ahem.
She can write better English than most English speakers as well.

just beat it, took me 101 hours and 44 minutes, i did ****ing everything, least i think i did, i didn't get the "been in every area" achievement so i must of missed something but still, kinda feel sorry for those that rushed through it in 40 hours and missed half the game.
final battle stuff was pretty epic.
but I'm confused i was led to believe you can continue on at the end, but you cant

It's just a personal preference. A lot of people, myself included, aren't fans of French accents. Not sure if it's the surrender monkey connection. Just whatever floats your boat. I dig Aussie accents, though.
It's also kinda hard for Leliana to look good when you're constantly comparing her to Morrigan's sultry voice. That's just a difficult situation to win. Sort of a Kobayashi Maru, the no-win scenario.
My ex-girlfriend was a Nicaraguan native who still carried her central-American accent. Every word that came out of her mouth was enchanting, even if her english needed work. It was charming in a lot of ways.
After her, I've been heavily attracted to girls with accents. Probably why Leliana always finds a place in my party, even if she can be a killjoy at times and her build is far from optimum.
I think the reason why Leliana's song scene is awkward is because her lips are so incredibly thick, but the game's facial animations won't allow her to open her mouth wide enough to properly sing the chords that she's supposed to be singing. She ends up looking like a Campbell's Soup baby.
I don't know where this whole 'DA looks like a horrible last gen game' thing came from, but playing it back to back, it beats the crap out of MEPC in the graphics department. The object textures are loads better (though some of the background ones suck, especially in Orzammar), and more importantly, it actually supports AA and doesn't have ridiculously patchy shadows. Also, it can actually run well when maxed out. I don't know why, but MEPC is actually running worse now that I replaced my graphics card.
I was kinda upset at how the Fort Draken scenes went when
during the part where your allies are supposed to be rescuing you my game glitched out. For some reason during all those scenes where the two companions are supposed to be talking to each other, I have one speaking and the 2nd one isn't there at all. Neither the character model or their voice is there. So it's like the one character that is there is just talking to a voice in their head or something. I've tried it with multiple different characters, and was never able to get it to work properly.
I'm playing on PC and have no idea why I'm having these issues. I am using a few mods, but I don't know that they'd cause that particular problem.
Was anyone else remotely shocked when you execute Loghain and his blood splatters all over Anora? I literally shouted HOLY SHIT! when it happened, and the look on her face is just...wow.
Too bad the VGAs don't have a category for Most Brutal Moment of the Year. My nomination would go to that scene.

That was great.
I didn't think about the blood spray that might result when he was killed but damn his decapitation did spill the blood big time and she sure did get soaked by it. That was a cool moment I got to admit. You can almost picture Morrigans smug smile watching the whole thing.

That happened to me with Zevran and Wynne, but Zevran and Oghren showed up fine.

I was just wondering why she was the only person who got splattered with the blood. It's like... wow Alistair, great aim there.

Definitely one of my favorite moments of the game.
Considering that on my first playthrough I hadn't agreed to work with her at all, and so she betrayed me and sided with her father after all that, having her get splattered with Loghain's blood as Alistair removed his head was just priceless.
In subsequent playthroughs, that scene still never gets old.

Morrigan had a sexy voice? o_O I found it kinda harsh.
Some of the desire demons, though.... that was their nature
I would say the graphics are actually excellent. If the primary view is the zoomed out view, then looking good in that view is what counts, and DA certainly does. The environments are interesting, the enemies cool and so on.
Yea, see... that's uh, that's kinda not what I'm doing at all. I don't look at the zoomed out view. The zoomed out view is such a cop out. Anything's going to look better if you zoom out and kinda squint at what's down below there. You're really far away, up in the sky. No shit it's going to be more forgiving.
But no, I look at the third person view. Down below. That's the view I like. That's the view I want to experience the game in. And the developers, they give you that third person view. They never said the zoomed out view was the primary view. I never figured the zoomed out view was the primary. The zoomed out view isn't even available to the console versions. Not really sure how you can call it the primary view when it's absent in 2 out of 3 of the versions.
So, using that third person, close to the ground perspective... the game is going to be judged worse then when looking at it from the isometric view. Isometric view... that's just a complete capitulation to BioWare. From an isometric view, you might as well say that Company of Heroes looks as detailed as Crysis. Who can tell? Everything's so damn small.
To be brutally honest, I would say that DA looks worse then WoW. That's really what I think. This is not me joking or trolling or anything. Obviously, WoW has much worse technology behind it, being about five years old and all, but the great art direction makes up for it. DA has a pretty dated engine and also... really bad art direction. Like, the Korcari Wilds... I remember just playing through it and thinking to myself how incredibly bad it looked, especially compared to most outdoor locales in WoW. That's not helped by the fact that for some reason, most of the levels in DA are just really really small. Like, I'm not asking for an Oblivion-style open world here, this is a different sort of RPG, but the levels in DA just seem cramped for the most part, except for some of the dungeons which are understandably larger. But uh, most of the hubs and levels in DA look like they were made to actually fit onto someone's coffee table, like a actual D&D map.
Actually, let me amend this. DA has really bad art direction in certain areas. Korcari Wilds look terrible, but I did think the Temple with the Urn looked pretty good. So, it's not bad across the board.
If you want to play the game in a way which was clearly bolted on for consoles, then thats your funeral. Everything about Dragon Age says 'play me zoomed out, using full party control', everything about the third person zoom in view screams "I don't really work this way, but we'll struggle on if we must"
Hell, even in zoom in it looks better than WOW, I'd say it looks better than WAR or AoC too.
THe only problem I will agree with is that the levels are too small, and the loading too frequent. There really is no reason this game didn't have effectively continuous maps with near zero loading.
So before I make my new run. DA doesn't penalize being a dick? Its more or less the same rewards. Not that I really care but a a little part of me wants to help and be friendly to everyone because some games I forgot the name of (Cough Bioshock) got you the best rewards by being "good". Some RPGS were like this to it was almost pointless to be a dick.

Yea, you can go be a dick except for certain major decisions. Like, if you turn in a regular quest and ask for some gold as a reward instead of just saying that you did it out of the goodness of your heart, it's fine. There's no consequences for acting like a greedy asshole in that situation.
You also have the ability to rob people's homes and unlock their chests without any penalty, which is a common RPG trope that never ever stops being odd.

Its pretty pointless being a dick, its also pretty pointless giving 5 gold to starving orphans (literally).
If you're a dick at certain points in the game certain members can turn on you and you lose them forever.
I lost Wynne, Leliana, Shale and Zevran on my playthroughs as a bad guy. Leliana and Wynne wanted to murder me because I poured blood into the urn, and Zevran just randomly turned on me when his assassin buddies showed up. Shale also turned on me in the forge... Bloody ungrateful cunts. They should have just followed me to the dark side.
Though if you play it smarter then me you can keep most of them with you even if you're a dick.

Seriously? You need my help just so you can help me save the world? Fuck you.

There are some things you can get for being a dick and if you demand rewards you tend to get stuff you might not if you did otherwise, not exactly sure but in some cases you might be able to get more for demanding or being a jerk depending on the situation. In one case you can get a good item by being evil:
When fighting back the undead attack on Redcliff that black smith ask for your help to find his daughter, well you can save her but if you don't he hangs himself. That's bad right. Yeah but not only do you get an amulet for him dying after if you lie but the replacement blacksmith then sells a great bow.
Plus if you can steal from everyone do so, some drop some nice stuff be it gifts or otherwise you might not see otherwise.
With the blacksmith I just said I'd plunder his shop because I was lazy and didn't want to get his daughter back as a personal favor to him. So he dares me to find his secret stash and then I rummage around, move a box and find his secret stash. So he attacked me and I had to murder him as well

Third person view works fine. I'm on PC, and I prefer it. I often switch between 3rd-person and birds-eye view during fights, but generally I play the game up close. Makes me feel like I'm a part of the world.
Just started playing this last night - thought it was good and then I began to think it was awesome when:
The kill animation when the Grey Warden dude in my part (keep forgetting his name) took out the Ogre in the tower during the battle. Was so awesome and I wasn't expecting it at all.

What platform are you playing on, and if PC, what settings? I've got it at 1440x900, full AA and Ultra high settings, and it looks very nice. Not as good, close up, as, say, Crysis, or even Mass Effect. But it does look quite nice and very detailed.

I may just be retarded, but did this game have CGI movies I missed? I just googled around and found images like this;
Those CGI videos are promo stuff. TV spots and some trailers on websites. You don't get to see it in the game, which is kinda lame. But then, the game doesn't really resemble those CGI trailers at all, so it's not a big loss.
