One question I haven't seen anyone answer...really ......BROOD Momma related
Why don't broodmothers look at all like they kind of darkspawn they birth?
The taint works in weird way.
I'm kinda curious how that big pink blob with tentacles = Genlocks.
The codex didn't seem to go in too-depth, besides the taints effect on females of a given species and what kind of offspring they produce. From what I read at least.
Just started playing this last night - thought it was good and then I began to think it was awesome when:
The kill animation when the Grey Warden dude in my part (keep forgetting his name) took out the Ogre in the tower during the battle. Was so awesome and I wasn't expecting it at all.
the animation is awesome unless there are still foes left and you can´t get out of the animation to drink a pot or do sth at all and you are not invincible. It´s the only problem i have with the kill animations.
It's worse if the game bugs out and you get two characters doing a sync kill on one enemy at the same time. So now you've just lost two melee characters for the duration.
I had a fun time where the Ogre died normally and just fell down, and suddenly my dwarf warrior launches into the kill animation lunging his axe into the thin air.
I had my character do a sync kill twice in a row. Once correctly then on thin air immediately after the first one finished.
So, if I want to make a close-combat DPS character who doesn't fall to a stiff breeze, do I want a duel-wield warrior or a duel-wield rogue? I wouldn't really want to do backstabbing too much, but is evade good defense?
I'm thinking of doing human noble, if that makes a difference.

Either is fine. A warrior will probably outstrip a rogue in pure non-backstab DPS, though.
Plus they both have similar defense because of their high dexterities, only warriors can also wear massive armor at the same time.

Early on my DW warrior is outlasting my two handed guy npc and shield guy due to dex.
Evasion is a nice perk (but my dw rogue lasts long without having taking it)..but heavy armor is gonna be better if you want to last longer and don't want to do backstabbing.

Or the stunning/front-stabbing.
Always fun to stack paralyze runes all over your weapons. They even work on the final boss.
So I got the game, and now I'm fighting with trying to make a goddamn character that I can stick with. I do this every time I get into one of these kinds of games, play through the beginning so many damn times trying to find a class I like and spend a freaking week deciding before I finally settle on something.
Lets make it easy, someone tell me what race / class to run with and Ill do it.

In regards to Rogue vs DW Warrior for melee combat:
As mentioned before, melee rogue is all about Backstabbing, which is what makes Zevran such a frustrating party member to use. Since there is no AI script to tell a Rogue to flank a target before attacking, you're stuck with either a sub-optimal frontal meleer, or you are reduced to controling him in battle any time he is a party member. Which may or may not be a problem - if your Warden is a Warrior or a Mage, you can easily set up AI tactics to control most situations .
One of the survivability pros that is being left out when speaking on the Rogue is Stealth. Once you gain Rank 3 and get Combat Stealth, you'll notice your ability to survive battles go up sharply because you're able to completely hide from your enemies, and can activate it mid battle, which makes the enemies that were previously targeting you switch to someone else!
While this doesn't work on some of the very high level bosses, it works against 90% of the enemies you'll face in the game. Plus your tank should be holding threat on bosses with no problem, especially if you're wearing Hostility Reducing items.
Once I got rank 3 Stealth, I found I could lead around with my Rogue, then pop Stealth once the enemies appeared on my screen and they'd automatically zoom in on my tank, which eliminated the need for frustrating character swapping.
Also, your first attack coming out of stealth is a guaranteed crit, and you can lob bombs and gernades while remaining stealthed and no one will attack you, so long as you have Rank 2. Plus Stealth has a naturally low cooldown, so you can re-enter stealth multiple times in the same battle to remain low on the threat list.
Be warned!: Stealth will be broken if you take ANY damage whatsoever, so be cautious around Mage AOEs. Plus if a enemy had already targetted you and is sending a missle or spell your way, it will still hit and knock you out of stealth. Also, self inflicted damage counts, so using the Tainted Blade in conjunction with Stealth is not advised. Luckily, Tainted Blade's cooldown is instant and Stealth is relatively short.
Regarding MeepZero:
I strongly reccomend the City Elf origin, but only if you play as a female.

Hmm...that sounds good, but I think I'm still attracted to the idea of running into a room and slicing people up with dual longswords, rather than being all stealthy. So Warrior/Berserker/Templar it is.
Also, can Morrigan be made into an alright healer without the respec mod? (I'll be playing on 360)

Since you get Morrigan fairly early it won't be much of an issue. Even tho Rejuv and the other hots are nice, all you really need is heal. The thing is you're gonna need a lot of mana if you want to dps and heal and CC and...at the same time.

Man, you don't need stealth to be a Rogue. Survivability won't be an issue, ever, because your tank should be holding all of the aggro. (Melee) Rogues just require the extra management of moving behind their target for max damage.

My rogue does just fine without Stealth. And there are other ways to deal with agro (e.g. Feign Death) if you want it; my guy didnt even need it.

It's probably just my preferred method of play. I liked stealthing around and used it to my full advantage.
One thing I really liked was if you were leading around stealthed, and enemies appeared on your mininmap but hadn't noticed your party yet, your party would automatically freeze in place, allowing you to move into the enemy filled area alone.
This let you survey the area, set traps and position yourself accordingly. I would usually set a few traps in front of the meleers that I knew would charge my tank as soon as he entered the room, then place myself behind an unsuspecting mage. I'd then switch to Alistair and have him enter, then switch back to my rogue and let the AI take over Alistair. Then I would pop out of stealth, stun the mage and rip him a new one before he could get a spell off. Since the enemy warriors had sprung the traps I'd placed in front of them, my party mopped them up pretty easily.
And yes, I know that's a much more time consuming strategy than: Enter room -> LOL! SLEEP/CONE OF COLD/STORM OF THE CENTURY/MOP UP ANYTHING THAT SOMEHOW SURVIVED, but it was fun for me.

Honestly if you are looking for a good dual wield dervish of destruction spec, go Zerker and Champ. Or if you're feeling risky, go Zerker and Reaver. Stacking Zerk, Blood Frenzy and Blood Fury(Warden's Keep talent) will cause you to do a crapload of melee damage, but you'll have to really keep an eye on your health and make damn sure your tank has aggro.

The thing that Shale has over Alistair at this point is versatility. Remember that while Alistair is the superior tank at high levels, he's also shoehorned into only doing that. Shale can switch to powerful ranged and melee modes with the click of a button. And don't forget Totem of Shale, the buff/debuff aura which used in the right situations can be very powerful.
