The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a website that explained the classes in D&D in a fairly complex manner? I'm starting a campaign with some friends and I've never played D&D before only the Star Wars d20. Also, I hear of cheap paperback versions of the players guides, monster manuals, etc., is this true? Any other suggestions for a newb like me? Thanks guys.
http://www.d20srd.org/ is basically all the D&D core rules (and a bit extra) without the descriptions and fluff. All you need to play, really.
Always a good place to start, that has all the class info. If you're after more flavour and such you might be better off elsewhere, I'll see if I can remember a link for that stuff.
A good character creation tool probably wouldn't hurt if you're making up your first D&D character. Someone here will know a good one for sure, I'm after one myself!
