    18, I'd say.

rather viable. Just lock your camera and restrict movement to the relevant axis.

People were doing 2D games with the very first Unreal engine. That's also the last time I did a game mod.

I was feeling pretty solid about this last interview, til I learned of the caliber of those competing with me.

I'm fully expecting to get a "Don't want no scrubs" response by the end of the week.

Then again, I was pretty much bringing my a-game to that interview. Maybe I'll get it on balls alone.

    As part of this competition

You must all survive on shitty crunch food for three months.

I expect to hear back how much weight you've gained to the pound.

Or in my case, lost. Because some nights I'd rather starve than eat that stuff.

Yeah man I just bring my own food to work, or take an hour or whatever to go home and eat. Fuck that trash. It's enough that you get my time (or rather, my wife's time, since she apparently owns me now), but you don't get my health too.

I may not be the man for the job, but I started tinkering with Max/MSP back in college and it seems like a pretty great way to get whatever weird sounds you need

I hope they didn't spell it that way. Also, that particular combination is one I've never seen. Are the gyros any good? And if so, how's the Japanese stuff? I mean this combination is like...like a pizzeria that also serves crepes, you know?

surprisingly common in ATL. The sushi is mediocre, but it's delivery, so I didn't exactly expect the best. More than adequate for being handed to me at 11pm. The gyros aren't bad. I could use a bit less garlic in the tzatziki, but overall pretty good.

you really don't want to do character modelling in sketchup

its okay for environmental props and whatever

but character models need to be built a lot more carefully, if they're ever going to animate right

importing a sketchup model into max/maya for rigging/unwrapping is a nightmare

whenever I see a model made in sketchup, I vomit a little bit

sketchup is alright for a beginner basic modelling program

and its hella great for shit it is designed for

like making entire cities for google earth

but man, you import something into max from there and try to animate it

welcome to spending twelve hours cleaning up multiple funky weird overlapping polys and all kinds of fucked shapes and loops

it ain't made for advanced 3d shit

its for basic prototyping and quick beginner moddelling

I've used it for building super rough layout blueprints and shit when we were doing a big remodel

way faster then trying to do it in anything else

BASIC. You can learn it in a matter of hours and it can help you wrap your brain around coding. However, it's really messy and can lead to some bad habits.

Yeah, I think the difference is if you want to make a mech or a statue of a mech. Because any time you save using sketchup will be lost trying to make the sketchup model do anything.

Scripts? LUA? Java? Probably Java, but ultimately the language is C++.
