So yeah we just finished playing this. My only exposure to the franchise before this was the movie.

That part where you're drowning in the car, holy shiiiiiiiiiiit

Also I really liked the ending. I've heard there are different ones you can get but in mine Harry shattered in the therapist's office, we saw the "I love my daddy" scene and then it cut to Harry on the boat cheating on his wife with Michelle and Lisa. Fucked up.

Dang Cloud, I got a better ending than that.

When the tape cuts it shows Harry and his wife fighting while he's packing up the car and then Harry bends down and tells Cheryl that "you shouldn't be filming this" and that "daddy will always love her".

Manly tears.

I'd probably be disappointed with that ending, this doesn't seem like a game that should end on a happy or heartwarming note

I would hardly call it happy or heartwarming

But I would say it's perhaps the most emotionally satisfying ending of an SH game. Though

the UFO ending is better.
