What kind of shelf life does a can of coke have? The machine I got it from was tucked away in a corner of my office building. It's been there for a million years, but I suspect no one ever uses it since the cafe shut down on the same floor a few years ago.
Anyway, it tastes kinda funky. Not bad exactly. Sweeter maybe? reminiscent of cherry coke almost. It's not old enough to kill me, but it makes me wonder if coke goes bad eventually.
This is more curiosity then anything else. I'm still gonna drink the bastard and I'm sure it wont be the last time I go to that machine.

Is it actual coke? You may have discovered Nuka Cola, in which case it'll be good for hundreds of years.
It's actual coca-cola, yes. So the regular shelf life is 3months, but that's set by who knows who for whatever reason. (ie, marketing departments do stuff like that to increase sales)
Something sealed in a can should have a strong shelf life you'd think though - similar to tinned foods. (I realize the materials are different, but still...)
I'll research it when I get home, and post. (previous has just been off handed office ruminating)
