Outside of Animated, i've always considered Shockwave to be a little overrated. I just never cared for the character. In Animated he was powerful, underhanded, creepy, smug, and still managed to remain loyal to Megatron (Let's see comic Shockwave try to take over the Decepticons run by THIS Megatron).
Animated Shockwave was wonderfully creepy for a long time but that pretty much was annihilated by the finale. It says a lot about how not creepy at all you are when you're on equal footing with Lugnut for getting Megatron's attention. But that was awesome in its own way.
Animated Ultra Magnus is my favourite Ultra Magnus.
I don't know why they named the autobot flier Air Raid instead of Jetfire.
come on.
Because it's Air Raid and not Jetfire/Skyfire?
Anywho, Warpath is a good choice (though I would have been happier with Hardhead, Warpath is more well known.)
Barricade just confuses me. He seems like a pointless addition to the roster, being that his only unique trait wss that he was a decepticon police car, and actually did the whole "deception" thing.

Barricade seems to be a mix of both. His bio matches the G1 character, but the alt-mode seems closer to the better-known movie character. Works for me.
As for Air Raid, it probably has to do with a Stunticon being on the Decepticon side.

so, the fourth War for Cybertron figure was leaked by Big Bad Toy Store SOUNDWAVE
His identity was actually already known, leaked along with the whole Generations line-up, ie the three other WfC guys and Drift, which back then led people to mistakenly believe Drift was a WfC toy too.
I tried to preorder this at Best Buy today, and they didn't have it? Or something? I haven't preordered a game before, but it seems like if I want to pay for a product you don't have, you can't not sell it to me because it isn't in stock.

Weird. I'm guessing the guy you talked to was just clueless. (Unless you tried ordering online, in which case I have no idea.)
I really need to see a video of them going through and showing every option you can change in the character creation mode before I'm sold on this one.
Unless you mean cycling through every weapon and power and showing their effects, you've seen more or less everything. You choose one of 24 chassis (3 per class and per side), primary/secondary colors, two weapons and three stat upgrades. If you hoped to visually mix'n'match robot parts other than the weapons, well, you can't.
DelzHand> Optimus and Bumblebee have the back thing too (and Optimus has in on the vehicle's underside. I suspect it's present on everybody, though not always in the same place and not always as obvious
Ah, I was at least hoping you could adjust details of the robot form, even if it was all covered up the the plates from the vehicle. Like, parts of the face, hands, etc. Yeah, this is probably just a rental...
Highlights:
Every vehicle has a hover mode (so all characters can strafe in alt mode)
You can pick up weapons dropped by enemies or found in the level
These weapons take on your primary color
Boss fight with Trypticon shown at the end briefly

Sorry, not that they don't have wheels. That they hover/slide around and don't actually roll on the ground or handle like an actual car. The reviewer said it wouldn't make sense, with all the bumpy terrain you have to handle.
Ah, video clarified it. You slide around in normal mode, but can click a button and handle like a vehicle if you need the speed for longer stretches. And, yeah, that looks pretty awesome actually.
So, when you create a character, do you get to name the Transformer? Or will it just display your account name over your head?
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Ahhh... so that's Brawl, not Onslaught that I saw the first time.

There's a trailer that doesn't really tell us anything new or show us anything new, except basically confirm that create your own Transformer is really just "pick a skillset and a palette swap for an existing character". Which is sad, really. It has literally no impact on my burning desire to have this game, but still slightly disappointing.
It's not "true" customization, but it doesn't bother me. I like being able to change colors, that's a plus in my book. I mean, look at WoW. I know this is a generalization, but a lot of the top-level armor looks similar to other pieces .
I think it's more important to have a consistent, distinct silhouette/build in order to aid quick identification at a distance. It's a design principle used to great effect by TF2, so I can't hate on it in this game. That way you never mistake a scout for a warrior.

I thought that it was confirmed that you could also choose components (ie. different heads, forearms, etc)?
Man, this game...I just keep going back and forth.
There is no back and forth. The only question is do you want Jazz, Shockwave, or Demolisher?

Also, Phil LaMarr made a pretty good Jazz in Animated.
And Ultra Magnus doesn't always suck. IDW has done pretty well with him, and the RiD version was cool.

Animated Ultra Magnus is my favourite Ultra Magnus.
And the shame that only three of these are becoming toys is now all the greater.

But then any character that's a tank I can support.
come on.
Origin: Galedrid - Nintendo: Galedrid/3222-6858-1045
Blizzard: Galedrid#1367 - FFXIV: Galedrid Kingshand

But noooooo, Triple Changers will break the game! Or something.
At least have Brawl turn into a tank and not have Megatron undergo reassignment surgery.

Not just Arcee, but the female Decepticon Slipstream as well. So.. we get full-blown fembot catfights?
Man, I want to be really excited about this game. That and the reports that the land vehicles don't have wheels are making me wary.

Wait, land vehicles do have wheels. I know for sure Jazz does at least, since I found it odd that they would have wheels.
Probably the tanks don't have wheels though because they'll want to hover around and strafe while shooting and such
