So since this is nothing more than another method to sell toys, the new toyline that's based off the game is looking pretty sweet.

Actually, I think Hasbro is trying to shift to being a sort of licensing company for multimedia content. In other words, yes, they want to sell toys, but also games, comics, clothing, DVDs, posters, the works.
As far as I know, there's only two WfC toys planned (Bumblebee and Prime) and they're both being made for the "Random Grabbag of TF characters throughout history" toyline.

Megatron as well. I think we had some pics earlier in the thread.

I pose my Transformers fighting all the time. I also pose them playing musical instruments, performing obscene acts, and making snide comments about non-Transformer figures.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I was right. Just confirmed: Jazz is Best Buy preorder bonus.

Fucking bullshit spreading in-game preorder bonuses across multiple stores. I greatly despise that preorder bonuses can now include in-game content, and hope that all these characters eventually end up as dlc (even if it's at a price).

Well that helps. Jazz (with style) and the fact that there's a BB in my town and not a GS means I know whom I'm getting.

Wonder if Target's going to get a character as well. Them and Wal-Mart seem to be the big retail chains that get the special bonuses.

    Seriously

I remember when you got like, a soundtrack for preordering, or a sweet poster or in the case of Wind Waker, two N64 games on a GameCube disc

But noooo, now I get an exclusive character whose data is either a) encoded on the disc already so why shouldn't I get all of them for preordering or b) has to be downloaded from the internet before I can even use him so if I don't have internet I'm shit outta luck

Honestly, I'd prefer some bullshit trinket than some kind of in-game bonus

There's an urban legend that Orson Welles died before finishing all his lines as Unicron in the 1986 Transformers animated movie, so Lenard Nimoy had to record his final line.

I thought the guy they got to do Starscream in the most recent animated show did a decent job of it. But I would throw him out with the trash in a second to get Mark Hamill for him instead. This news makes me very happy.

Oh and Jazz does look great but I'm sorry. If you're playing a transformers game based on Cybertron and you opt out of playing as Shockwave you are doing it wrong.

Well, it would be pretty small scale. Not like going to a TF board and saying "Bludgeon sucks" or "Drift is the best autobot ever".

Just, you know, Shockwave sucks What? Who said that?

Depends on which Shockwave you're talking about. The one from the G1 toon was pretty much just an uninteresting lackey. The one in the G1 comic was pretty badass. (Took out nearly all the Autobots in issue #4 as his very fist action). I think the IDW comic version is my favorite enough. Used his logic to figure out that Cybertron was going to be fucked due to the war, and made some pretty hardcore plans to prepare for the future.

EDIT: Also, Bludgeon sucks is a perfectly acceptable opinion; but saying Drift is the best TF character ever is a hanging offense.

Shockwave wins for being the best cover image on any Transformers issue.

I remember getting the digest of this with two or three other issues inside, seeing the autobots all wrecked, torn apart, blasted apart and hung upside down was a "holy shit" moment as a child.
