Considering an Acer Notebook

Hi! So, looking for some advice/experiences if at all possible. I'm dangerously close to buying an Acer AS1410 notebook. I wanted to get one of the Eee PCs, but the idea of Windows 7 Starter makes me throw up in my mouth just a little bit.
Anyway, I have my eye on the AS1410-2039, but that's primarily because it's A) the cheapest, the first one I saw, and C) I'm still not sure of the differences based on the 1410-XXXX number.
Do any of you wonderful people have experience with this brand/model/et cetera? I'm primarily looking for a portable device for web browsing, streaming video, and light duty gaming (old Infinity Engine games, old Steam games, et cetera).
Thanks so much for any input.

Do you hate the idea of getting the ASUS 1005HA with XP on it? Because I could be wrong but it still seems like the best bang for buck netbook right now.

I'm not totally adverse to it. I've become fairly enamored with Windows 7 though - the whole auto copy/rename function is a lifesaver. But another concern is the video capability of the 1005HA. I'd like to be able to watch stuff like Hulu and streaming Netflix. It seems that for another $50 on top of the 1005HA, I could get a good deal more computing power.

The acer doesn't look like more computing power to me. Did I misread the specs? It 1g more RAM but it's only 40 bucks to upgrade the ram in the 1005HA. Right now Amazon has it for 349.99, so it's a tiny bit cheaper really.
And yeah I like windows 7 a lot too, and I wish the 1005HA didn't come with starter, but I understand them trying to keep the cost down. Maybe your best bet is to wait a bit till there are more netbooks out with the new dual core processors/graphics chips that are being developed for the platform. Or you could try the one with starter and if it really pisses you off, spend the 80 bucks for the windows anytime upgrade to home premium.
My roommate has a 1005ha and it's friggin cool, so I'll admit a certain degree of bias. Wait for a few more opinions to come in if you're really on the fence.

I'll admit it's a bit of an impulse purchase. I'm going away for the rest of the month next week, and I'd like to have a notebook to take with me. Plus it would be a bit of a Christmas present to myself!
My understanding re: power is that the 1.3GHz Intel Celeron 743 is a somewhat significant step up compared to the Atom. Do you know if your roommate's 1005ha has an problems with video playback? I've heard there are some issues with Youtube stuttering. Thanks for your help by the way!

He watches stuff on it all the time, I've never heard him complain about it. That's one of the big reasons he got it, I'm pretty sure he watches futurama on it/streams hulu a lot. If this isn't a "I'm going to go buy something right now" thing, I can have him clarify how well it works tonight. I'm pretty sure a good handful of people have them here on the forums too, hopefully they'll show up in the mean-time so you can get some first-person feeback.
It can output 1080p via HDMI, which means it's gonna make the hookup to my HDTV a breeze. Normally I'd wait a bit and obsessively research, but I'm leaving next week and I want to have the weekend to get it setup.

Arrived today - this thing is pure hotness so far!
Some bloatware, so I going to have to figure out how to reinstall Win7 I think.

The bigger screen and increased processing power did it for me. Specifically, this guy's review swayed a lot.
