From RPGFan:
"Atlus is working on a new addition to its popular Sekaiju no Meikyuu (Etrian Odyssey in the US) series. Titled Sekaiju no Meikyuu III: Seikai no Raihousha (Etrian Odyssey III: Visitors to Star Ocean), the DS-based title will support DS wireless play and up to five players. As suggested by the game's subtitle, the developers chose an ocean as a setting for the game.
Talking about developers, Atlus has once again assembled the key figures behind the first two games by bringing back Shigeo Komori (direction), Yuji Himukai (character design), Shin Nagasawa (monster design) and Yuuzou Koshiro (music).
For the third game, all job classes and character illustrations are being renewed. New jobs include prince/princess, phalanx, monk, pirate and zombie.
Sekaiju no Meikyuu III: Seikai no Raihousha is scheduled to hit Japanese retail store shelves on March 4th, carrying a suggested price tag of 6,279 yen ($70.70 USD). "

EDIT: Zombie class seems to have been a misunderstanding and it's actually Shinobi.

Has carryover from EO2 been confirmed yet? A good bonus would be an extra class from it, like Beast.
zombie pandas.
anticipation!
The harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun.
My thoughts exactly.
Still haven't beaten the chimera in ET:2 yet though

How does that even work?
Race to explore a randomly generated dungeon and collect loot?
Edit: So looking at that scan, not only will it be an ocean, but much more of an open world game. Mapping out islands and such. That'll be crazy fun.

In that scenario, I'd be inclined to expect that you both control your respective parties in the same dungeon/island/whatever but with no items or somesuch and see the other as an FOE (more specifically, the opposing party is the only FOE on the map) and if you occupy the same square you fight. Other than this, it plays the same as normal and the first party to get wiped out by any means (whether random encounters or being PKed) is considered the loser.
Alas, this is probably just wishful thinking though
Betcha the plot twist for this game is finding Atlantis.

I'm gonna tuck this post away, and in the future we'll come back to it.
Which is better as you get Pirates versus Ninja, the ultimate fight for frontline supremacy!
DQ and EO are made by different companies dude >.>
Edit: totp noooooooooooooooo
So what point were you making? DQIX has no relevance whatsoever on EO3.
Boourns.
Still awesome, just... slightly less so.

put it in your browser and then hit enter again.
Heck you are still ahead of me. I'm still on the first one. Oh and don't forget dark tower (or whatever it was called) as well.

Not if there is a second->third rollover bonus.
or better yet, first->second->third
ah, reminds me of eye of the beholder with party carry-overs. 'course you ended up ridiculously overpowered by the end, but hey.
also, yeah, I have neither the time or the motivation to finish up the first one and go through the entire second one before getting this. I really enjoyed what I played, but I barely get through normal, modern games as it is.

Wussies.

This game better not come out, let's say, November 2010 then I'd have to wait!
I highly doubt it. There wasn't any password or anything.
What was the plot twist for EO2 again?
The class descriptions on that Famitsu site indicates that the Princess will specialise in buffs, Phalanx will be like Protector, Monk will have healing abilities while having unarmed techniques, Pirate will be skilled at using guns and swords and do combo attacks with teammates, and Shinobi will have skills useful for exploring the labyrinth (probably those that reduce encounter rate or prevent tile damage).
Also I wonder if with both Ninja and Pirate in the game if they are going to add stealing from enemies to the game...
The problem was - he couldn't quite perfect it. It caused the people he worked on to never age, sure, but at the cost of mutating them into horrible monsters - Scylla and the Colossus at least are two confirmed experiments. Eventually many of the survivors decided that the Grail wasn't worth it and went back down, including a woman who was also a genetics expert (and therefore his greatest chance of perfecting the formula). Eventually the guy uploaded his brain onto a supercomputer to continue his work until he got it right.
And then we showed up and stabbed him in the face.
