I'm glad that this game wont have multiplayer achievements just to get people to play it for that (Hi Bioshock 2) but what is this about a Hard Core (yes two words, not one.)
which is supposed to be the hardest mode and with only 3 saves  ?
Edit: Found the achievement, it doesnt state anything about 3 saves in there though, its called Hard to the Core, and just says to beat Hard Core.
Well it's been a looooong time since I've played Resident Evil 2, but I don't really remember a complete "no saves" run as being mandatory to get anything.
The hardest requirement I can remember was getting Tofu, which required playing through the game several times, saving each time and (I think) getting the highest ranking each time.
Never really bothered with that.
There actually was an S-Rank in the N64 version, and to get that you had to do a no-save run. It was awesome. God, I wish that version would come out on WiiWare.

I can only assume it's an anti-piracy check that isn't too hard to implement cause the game probably already accesses servers for the multi-player.
Quite a few games do this. Valve games always do it since they're all tied to Steam. It's not so much just a check as it's likely certain required files are outright missing as well, and the game won't work work without them (this is alongside the server verification).
Prevents zero-day piracy, which is when the worst piracy occurs. They can't crack the game to torrent when it's incomplete.
Also, companies hate it when stores break street-date so that's probably another reason.

Just played the demo on my 360. I was a huge fan of the first one on the PC, and it looks like I'll be dropping another 50-60 on the sequel too.

Man, I want that collector's edition so I can run around with my plasma cutter and impress my girlfriend. :winky:
She thinks I'm a nerd.
Seriously though, I'm saving for a honeymoon and I just bought LBP2 CE. Damn cool collector's editions. No offense to you guys, but I wish only sucky games with stupid collector's editions would be released for the next few months.

Yeah I did that on leon b in 2 hours.

I literally played that game around 20 times through when I was younger.
For some reason, DS2 being two discs on 360 got me REALLY excited. I already was, but fuck yes, I am off Tuesday and it is over with. Is it SP on one and MP on the other, or is the game just that long?
Is HD Extraction gonna come out separately on the PSN? If not, I may consider switching over, just in case I get MOVE down the line.

I bought a second Move controller tonight for Extraction so I could play it with my boyfriend. I played DS1 on the 360, but I bought the second one on the PS3, just because of Extraction. Also GOD DAMN are Move controls hard to get your hands on unless you are buying the starter bundle. A Sony rep said they are having trouble keeping up with demand, and honestly after 2 months of looking and only seeing 1 in that time, I'm inclined to believe it.
I'm putting together a Dead Space video (kind of a recap of the cool moments) set to the main theme for the movie Sunshine. Should be done in a couple of days.

How strange. I just made a video of BC2 with the redone Adagio track for Kick-Ass.

Haha, thanks. It'll be released just on time for the release of DS2, so hopefully you guys will all watch it and like it.
Any tips for the silly racing game in Ignition? I'm stuck on one race and it's driving me crazy. I feel like I am missing something basic.
I chanced upon people talking about this mini-game elsewhere on the net. Lots of people simply give up on it. It's poorly designed.
All of the DS2 unlocks occur after your first hacking minigame in Ignition. You don't actually have to beat it if the racing game if you're only after the unlocks.
Oh thank Christ. Yeah I was just playing it for the unlocks. Ignition is the worst piece of crap ever.
Am I the only one that really finds the commercials awful? Who are they even aimed at? Is there a demographic for people who hate their mothers but just love horror games that I am unaware of?

I personally like the commercials... but I agree that they're targeting a demographic that isn't able to actually buy this game without their parents permission in the first place. It seems strange. A grown adult isn't going to care whether or not their mom hates video games or not.
"Your mom hates this but maybe she will buy it for you anyway?"
Did you get anti aliasing to work? If so, how? And are there any other visual improvements going on there?
just AA and anisotropic filtering; the anisotropic filtering can be done driver-level on any brand card, but the AA, as far as i know, only works due to the newest Nvidia drivers.

Just to double-check, the PS Move version of Extration is only available on the CE of Dead Space 2, right?
A K-mart add listed it as "exclusive to PS3" while showing the regular version's box. This was the main basis for pre-ordering the CE, but if it turns out that the regular version has it too, then I might change my order and save $20.

there is no "regular" version on the PS3 yet; the "regular" version is the Limited Edition which includes Extraction. later on after release, the "regular" edition will come out with only a DEMO for Extraction.
so i think you can safely change your order, the developers have made this pretty clear, but the retailers like to publish the wrong product images and create confusion.

It's worth getting on the PS3 for Extraction. I thought it would be just a tacked on little extra, but it is very fun and looks great for an upscaled Wii game. The Move controls work fantastic. Also it's cool seeing some of the areas you visited at the end of Dead Space again.

Given that every US retailer is posting the same thing, I would say the problem is on EA's end. Heck, their own website makes no mention of it.
Also, does Extraction use the Nav controller or whatever it's called?

I work retail, trust me, I know how rare the MOVE controllers are right now. I'd be buying the $100 bundle (which we have a lot of) if I were to get it, since I don't have the camera yet either.
