13" MacBook Pro Freezing/Fading

As of about 2 hours my 13" MacBook Pro (mid-2009) has started freezing and the screen fading to almost white (can still see stripes of colour) and everything looks really pixelated. If it happens again/theres nothing that you guys can recommend to fix it I'm going to take it in to check it out tomorrow.

If I restart it sometimes fixes it, sometimes it starts up like this and is all messed up.

    Should mention it seems to have stopped now - it was really cold outside and was in my car for about a 20 minute drive home and was really cold when it first started happening.
