And one random guy kills him in the first thirty seconds of the game "Jeez fuckin camper"

I'm really enjoying the FAMAS with a silencer, even after I unlocked the M16. With stopping power, it still only takes one burst at most ranges. I'm running an Egregious Asshole build with:
    Scav
    Stopping Power
    Ninja

Does real well on smaller maps with buildings you have to run through. Pick a building, claymore up to 2 points of entry, cover the third and chuckle madly as you take down mans who run for cover or just try to get from one area to another. Replenish mines off the corpses of your victims, repeat. You can also sort of snipe people outside, and pack the striker to finish off mans who get past the mines.

I did have a question from earlier that no one seems to have addressed:
So, isn't the predator missile supposed to be able to shoot down harriers? I've been saving mine for when a chopper or harrier shos up, but it seems very inconsistent. Sometimes it hits, sometimes it just clips right through, and sometimes it fails to even start high enough for me to locate the damn flyer.

They can shoot down everything other than the AC130.

Sometimes they just start in a strange place. I had one start very close to the ground near out of bounds on Favela last night. Didn't have enough time to find anyone.

Just tested this. You can have C4 and claymores up at the same time with one man army, still two of each in fact. I'm going to have 3 classes set up so I can have claymores and C4 up on a domination map while I'm running around with semtex.

Everytime a killstreak is up, I pause and switch to my stinger build. I find UAVs the hardest to kill because I'm never in a clear space to see every angle and usually get toasted while waiting for it to appear in my section of sky.

Of course, I suck at this game with my .86 k/d ratio. I just figured out how to find out my k/d ration.

What drives me nuts is that the game is so un-even. If I truly just sucked at the game, I'd be okay with it, because I'd just turn it off... but everyone once in a while, I do ok, and it's like crack... it just sucks you in.

That's the thing, I actually want people to know that I'm in the area so they attempt to enter my trap kill zone. I use ninja, so peeps won't hear me when I scavenge the bodies for resupply.

Guys outside who aren't actively hunting me get picked off with the silenced FAMAS, although if things are slow I'll swap to my un-suppressed shotgun and fire off a few rounds to let people know I'm in there. Waiting.

I inadvertantly joined one of these "Glitched" games this weekend with my brother. It was a 10,000 point limit 18 player Domination game in Scrapyard. I have never had more fun playing this game. I am pretty sure that I was still completing challenges and getting XP... so this might actually be a glitch that my friends and I will be using in the near future. It means we can actually play on the maps we want to play on, when we want to.

Edit: RE: K/D ratio in Domination- If you have anything higher than 1:1, then yes, you probably should be playing a touch more offensively.

I've shot down an AC130 with a Predator. Granted, it was pure dumb luck. His AC130 appeared on the map at the same time and spot as the missile I called in, and BOOM! Bet he was wondering WTF happened there.

Serves him right for getting his AC130s from care packages. Half those noobs don't even appreciate what they've got, since it just fell in a box from the sky. They just slowly spam the howitzer into the sides of buildings without touching the 40mm.

I never thought of it that way... and I play domination exclusively.

Think about it this way - why care about dying if that act doesn't penalize the team (unlike TDM)? For instance, you are running to a point that your team controls and it is currently being taken by the enemy. Do you peek around the corner behind cover and try to pick the opposing team off one at a time or do you run around the corner, semtex in hand, ready to pitch it on the control point even if that means you will be killed?

I often have a positive K/D ratio but that's because I go offense until we have two points, then I go defense and try and make sure we keep those two points. If the rest of my team wants to throw themselves in the meatgrinder that's great. I encourage it because it'll keep the other team busy. I'll do what I can to make sure someone doesn't sneak around and take shit while they're busy

It can be incredibly boring because there are matches where no one even tries to do something sneaky and I end up just sitting there with a C4 trigger handy and a grin on my face but oh well :P

What game mode are you playing where killstreak rewards are disabled?

K/D ratio matters in objective-based games as well as TDM, because keeping it reasonable means you're not bringing airstrikes down on your teammates' heads constantly and giving the enemy free UAVs, etc.

sounds like what i do in domination. it sucks when no one shows up for like half a round so you get bored and wander off somewhere and that is the cue for everyone on the other team to rally at the point you just left. happens every time.

ive managed to rack up some pretty ridiculous numbers camping above B on quarry lately, speaking of domination.

What do I need to know?

    The rotation goes 105mm, 40mm, 25mm.

Use the 105mm screen, the unzoomed one, to scan for targets. The other weapons zoom too far in a lot of the time. Once you've fired the 105mm at enemies in an open area or visible through a large window, find some more targets and hit Y to zoom in with the 40mm. It can fire a few rounds rapidly and deals some splash damage, so you can pretty much clear a street. Not worth trying to fire rounds one or two at a time here. If one of the targets is visible in the open and you're out of 40mm, hit Y again to switch to 25mm and quickly take a shot. Lean on the trigger, you'll be out of rounds in no time.

Now hit Y and you're back to the 105mm, which is reloaded and ready to fire. Rinse and repeat.

I'm sorry, I am having trouble understanding your slurring babble through your shitty hockey team.

But seriously, I find that the benefit of keeping a point for the team generally outweighs a harrier hanging over an enemy controlled point that the team will likely not rally to take in the first place. Remember, I'm not talking about playing organized clan matches here, I'm talking about pub games. Organized matches or matches with a big party that will all work together and the tactics change a bit.

Hmmm, I think I have found my problem with this game.

Having got to level 65, KD ration of 1.7 (maxed at 1.9), mostly MTDM and Ground War, I am finding the aerial killstreaks are ruining the game.

Lets say on one team you have a demon, he camps or w/e and racks up a killstreak, then while we all scrabble to shoot it down (I always switch to my Stinger class after the first death) his mates kill us as we wait for a lock and then they get killstreaks...

I just went into a game of Groundwar where there was a Heli leaving, an AC130 coming in and as we went os hoot it down, 2 Predators hit us, then the team swarmed us....

    I died 4 times in about 30 seconds...then left.

tldr; there are too many aerial kill-streaks and they can plain ruin a match, having to waste a class slot for stingers which can take multiple shots and make you a sitting duck for ages does not help much...

Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

What about the point of providing your own team with killstreak rewards?

    Good point.

Even the players who don't go on lengthy killstreaks and massacre the enemy team can do a lot for their own with UAV, Counter-UAV, Sentry Gun, etc.

This is basically what I do. I think Harrier is my highest streak. I don't have a terribly long lifespan usually so I try to constantly have a UAV in the air. I find too many people set the high killstreaks, only to get them maybe once every few games, and even then it doesn't always get them many kills.

Well, either way, you are wrong.

You know how I stop people from capping points? I kill them. You know how I cap points? I don't die.

So, high K/D ratio = helping your team.

...and either way, you're a Penguin's fan, which means you are low functioning.

I think what he meant to say was that in domination a high kd ratio is not necessarily indicative of good team performance. It can mean you're doing great, but it can also mean you are camping somewhere else and picking off stragglers.

This. I typically run across the the latter in matches I join. Which is infuriating. Although the point about giving the opposing team killstreak rewards is well taken.

yeah, a lot of matches get lost when your team just decides to hole up and make their single point a bastion of death

which is great, but they have the other two points completely consolidated and we need your help otherwise we will lose. this is not team deathmatch.

just had one of those matches. . . ground war, domination on the loghouse level. 5 of our teammates were glued to the floor in the house while the rest of us tried to capture B and C, but their team was doing stuff like taking and holding more than one point, so we lost like 74-200

75% of the time when I throw down a care package the entire enemy team will show up around the goddamn corner and and steal my shit. Which is why I switch to my knife build whenever I get a care package

I just love the people who throw down their care package marker at a contested point in domination, where the life-expectancy is about 7 seconds.
