Fixed my laptop so the WoW downloader/installer is working, so now I don't hafta go two weeks without WoW. And don't hafta miss the merrymaker achievement for the 2nd year in a row.
The trick was that apparently Internet Explorer's proxy setting was turned on, but I never noticed because I always use Firefox. But turns out virtually every program checks IE for how it should connect to the internet. All my programs were trying to connect to a nonexistant proxy, stupid XP! >_<
Hate: I had already deleted WoW in attempts to solve this problem, so having to install from scratch and downloading almost 7GB of info.
BUT IM STILL TOO HAPPY TO LET THAT BRING ME DOWN. BRING THE DICKS ON.
HAPPY: Oh fuck me, I just respec'd my Druid to Moonkin/Tree. I signed up as a DPS, and two minutes into a Blood Furnace run, two DPS and the healer had left. I volunteered my services as Healer, warning the remaining member - Tank - of my newness to the roll. He was down with it, so we popped back into LFG as a Tank/Healer combo. 10 seconds later we had our five.
So, yeah. I am an inherently panic ridden person. Healing scares the crap out of me. ONE death in the entire run. Death Knight, of course. Death Grip, of course.
So. Yay I can heal now, I guess? Boo. Fuck free outta Scarlet Haven DKs. Fuck them to the hell that spawned them.
Hate: "LFD but oh shit, I gotta raid to go to. SORRRRRY!"
All those fuckers that join a LFD group only to say "woops, they are inviting for my guild raid!/other party/masturbating my grandfather" and we are already like 1/3 or 1/2 finished.
SUPER HATE: Fucking Druids can't need on cloth and that is just.... really? REALLY BLIZZARD?
Hope: My server comes back up soon, I only have 24 hours off work today..... lol
Holidays: Good.
Healing: I am in the same boat. I don't heal on my druid at all, even though I have the off-spec for it and a few trinkets. I just uh...never really get into it. Want to give it a try but not on any random dungeons.
Oh boy, Occulus again! And noone wanted to do it. Again.
Seriously, it only sucks (besides getting it almost literally every other time) because the everyone in the group sees it quits immediately.
Hate: There's a new twist though...everyone just sits afk inside of the instance, since leaving doesn't do anything about the debuff.
I have bad luck with the Halls of Reflection
I either get dc'd, die in a very bad spot and get kicked or come into the instance where they have killed the first two and I don't get the saved warning and forced to do the run
Ok, I realize that you really wanted that, but other than him not having amazing gear, what's the problem? It's all feral gear. I don't know druids, so does he have retarded specs? (I notice he is 0/56/15 and 0/55/16 which is kind of odd.)

I assumed one was dps and one was tanking. but I don't know anything about druids at all.
He should not have been allowed in FOS in BOA gear. He got carried into a trinket that I have never seen before despite the fact that I have ran it every day since the patch came out. I think I am allowed to be angry.
He has some decent gear aside from the weapon, what was his dps for the run?
As long as a dps is pulling 2.5k plus or so they have just as much right to roll on loot as the guy pulling 5k. Your time is not more valuable than theirs and your added dps doesn't entitle you to first dibs on loot.

But he was wearing an heirloom item, and apparently that is some kind of crime.

Dude it's just the weapon.
I really think you're just pissed you lost the trinket to someone else.
Yeah man fuck him.
He can get gear enabling him to do 3k when he can do 5k fuck him I deserve a random drop in a group to a guy who can use it and probably get more use out of it then me.

Hate: Just did a daily AN with a 50k HP tank. Sounds like it should have been a breeze, right? Wrong. He was a terrible, terrible tank.
1) On those mobs who charge someone, he didn't bother trying to control them and let them wail on whoever they charged and then blamed me (the healer) if whoever they were beating on died (which they did since when they get two crits in a row each for more than half that clothie's health they're gonna die no matter how hard I heal)
2) He body pulled the first boss while we were still pulling the three miniboss dudes and then blamed it on a dps who only attacked the boss after it had aggroed. We wiped because I ended up getting webbed and not freed while he let a charger run wild on the dps so they couldn't have freed me if they wanted to and he didn't pop any sort of tanking cooldown to stay alive.
3) On the second boss he ran in with all the little mobs still up, so it took forever compared to normal since the boss kept healing itself via the adds.
4) All throughout this, it felt like he just stacked stamina waaay too much, since his health was dropping like a rock. I mean it felt like I was healing a raid boss at times with how fast his health dropped, I had no idea what was going on. I started out trying to help dps like I've been able to do in every AN I've gotten random (even with 30k hp tanks) but this guy just felt like if I didn't keep spamming him he'd die.
You remember the guy's name/server by any chance? I'm curious to see his armory.

I put him out of mind once we finished and I just checked my recount to see if his name was still saved in there but it wasn't, so nope, sorry, don't remember.

I was going to mention that, but then assumed Opty meant that the guy should've gone over and stunned/snared the mob until Fixate wore off. Which is a reasonable thing to expect.

I just mark the Skirmishers to die first. If DPS can't manage to kill it before it fixates and kill them they deserve to die, i'll just let it come back to me once they do.
Though I will say that it is _amazing_ how many 5man boss mechanics are not well-known.
example: Hardly anyone seems to know that the second boss in UK, the caster guy has no aggro table, the melee guy does, and being dead doesn't change that at all, you can still build threat on the melee dude. So many people want to DPS them down together instead of doing it the easy way and killing one at a time.
example 2: Absolutely no one knows that when fighting Xevozz in Heroic Violet Hold, making sure your entire party is out of line of sight of the orbs ensures he will never teleport your group.
example 3: Jousting in H ToC. You don't need to sit on top of the fallen enemies throwing shield breakers. You can only trample them when they attempt to get up which they do every 30 seconds.
example 4: You can break the Maiden of Grief's Shock of Sorrow by moving into the black void zone just before she casts it.
You think you had bad luck in PoS? I ran 10 Uld every single week from the time it was released until 2 weeks before ICC came out. I saw Eye of the Broodmother ONCE, and I rolled a 1. Thankfully, the tree druid loved me enough to give it to me.
Annoyance, quickly turning into a raging hatred : Gearscore creeping up everywhere.
Annoyance + wtf : I was running some EotS earlier tonight. It went pretty bad as usual in my battlegroup, culminating with that horde team with 6 warriors, camping the shit out of us at our graveyard.
After getting charged a billion times in 2 min, i said "wts warriors" because, hey, that wasn't really fun.
That dude then started to tell me how i was a noob because, supposedly, rogues in arenas eats warriors alive. Nevermind the fact that they were camping us, i should have been able to kill them easily or something. I replied with my standard "dude, i don't give a flying fuck about arenas", which he answered by "why r u in a bg then lol". Uh. Yeah. The match ended a few minutes later and i was ready to forget all about it, when i received tells from a level 1 rogue.
That guy made an alt on my server to tell me how much i sucked, how my spec was wrong, how much arenas were totally awesome, and how i should l2p.
Blew my fucking mind.
So yeah, annoyance/hate : Arena pricks. Fuck you and your game ruining PvP wankfest. I hate you and your kind. Leave me alone.
On the Skirmishers thing: They fixate for 10s, the tank basically ignored them entirely, didn't even hammer stun or try to taunt once the fixate was off. Basically I spent 30s spam healing a dps each pull, which I guess also puts the blame on the other dps for not focusing it in the first place. That's also why I noticed the tank's health dropping faster than what seemed normal to me for someone with that much HP since I didn't have any spare time to toss anything but HoTs on him.
Always go after the skirmishers first. Not only do they hit for the most, as has been said, they fixate.
I'm pretty sure every class (or at least every melee class) has a stun, though, so fucking use it.
Yeah, the tank has a lot of abilities to keep the mobs from hitting the other players, but the other players also have tools at their disposal to not fucking die.
Most ranged don't have stuns, especially not untalented. Most melee have only have particular sets of circumstances that they can use them, so its mostly only feasible towards the beginning, when you should be killing them anyway.
Really, your best defense is just kill them fast.
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

I'm just saying, as a dps, if something is attacking you, for whatever reason, your first reaction should not be 'ehh, the tank will pull it off me' or 'ehh the healer will just heal through it.' It should be 'hey I have X ability to avoid/mitigate damage, I think I'll use it!'
Mages have ice block, paladins have bubble, priests have disperse, blah blah yadda yadda. Every class has some way of sidestepping damage, at least for a little while.
Yes, killing it should be the priority. Right after not dying.

not all the mechanics in 5mans are necessary. but my point was that many people don't even understand them.
Fuck, even the mechanics in the *new* 5mans, from people who apparently have run it before. I get into a random Heroic PoS (which I was happy about, another chance for Rimefang's Claw, which didn't drop *again*), I'm tanking and we get onto Garfrost's stairs, I ask if there was anyone who didn't know the fight. Everyone seemed good, and the fucking mage was already running into the area right at Garfrost and saying, go. He even through an ice lance or ABarr or something at Garfrost before I quite got there. I *really* should've fucking let him die and told him so.
Anyway, we're going along, suddenly the DK's dead and asking in chat what happened. Then my healer dies and shortly after the hunter as well. Finally the mage dies and I had switched to Seal of Light a while before that and started to Judge Light to see how far I could get him, popped LoH while I was at it. I might've taken him down about 9% by myself but that was from like 34 to 25, so I was still a long way off. After we wipe, I ask pretty much exactly the same question as I'm flying back. The DK said he thought it was a "TaS fight", though honestly I've never heard that used and had to ask to find out it meant Tank and Spank. Basically, he had a good 15 stack or so going when Deep Freeze popped.
The Mage DC's a few times trying to zone back in or something, then stays offline, so I boot him and we end up getting a warlock instead, then take out Garfrost just fine, though the warlock died then, didn't really get any heals.
So, on Ick, as I'm running in to keep my Divine Plea going, I just mention in chat, Run away from the Poison Nova. We get a Poison Nova pretty early on, everyone runs away just fine. Then he does his Explosive channel that puts Arcane mines all over. The DK proceeds to just stand behind Ick the *entire* time, and ends up getting completely destroyed by the mines in short order. We finish the fight, though it takes quite a bit longer, and I comment something about how I thought avoiding the mines would've been a little more immediately obvious.
It always amuses me to watch people die to the Poison Nova on Ick. Even the first time you run the place... the cast bar says nova. Didn't we all learn on Murmur that nova = run away?
Though I will admit that on Garfrost it wasn't until maybe the 4th or 5th time I ran it that someone explained to me that LOS removes the frost stacks. Boy did that make things easier!
