YOu got Malygos for your weekly that sucks!
I got Marrowgar and it's getting annoying that not that many people want to do because of all the gear checking, achievement crap or gear score crap going on
I do want to do it but then It seems I am going to pass on this week
I think I suck at kiting or something. Hopefully we get things straight next week.
Ugh: Ran a mostly PuG run of the weekly raid, which was Malygos. After a wipe and some "hurry up" comments from a low dps feral druid, we got it. Despite me telling everyone to not touch the loot box/gem/thing until all the dead people had run back, well, someone opened it of course. A guildie called out a shaman for having his hand in the cookie jar ("I'm rolling on that!") so, with some prompting, I ignored the shaman's high roll for the BoE ring. Man I hate leading stuff.
Yeah I was with you for that Maly run and I was the one that told you to pass on that Shaman. Its how I lead PuGs, if they can't follow simple directions they can fuck off. It was how I lead 25man Tuesdays, I don't care if you can do 10k DPS on Kol you start up shit in my raid you get the boot.
And screw that hurry-up Druid, I had more DPS tanking Maly while making sure the melee were benefiting from the sparks.
I know what you mean. I was one of those people that couldn't get into a reliable 10 man until ToC (no, the 10-man in 3.1 doesn't count, as it wasn't reliable). My issues now focus on our "brilliant" leader, who refuses to do Algalon, which we haven't done, or Icecrown achievements. Still, it's good that now we can run 3 reliable 10-mans, rather than the 1 in the olden days, so the problem pretty much solved itself in the end.
Dude, I have said for months that you guys don't need to listen to your "leader." He doesn't lead shit, he just sends out calendar invites, and he's BAD to boot. You or Annie or anyone else can just be like "we're going to do Algalon" and if enough of you want to, just go. If Ed doesn't, get an alt healer or someone to fill in. 8-)
He doesn't actually lead anything. He doesn't even start the raid anymore. Annie is more or less the real leader, and he's not all that great, either. He is much angrier, though (I guess starting at ~midnight local time will do that to you).
Basically our core problem is that we don't like each other. Your 10 man group is made up of mutual friends, while ours is comprised of mutual enemies. If Val is giving someone in your 10-man a hard time for screwing up or being bad, he's (mostly) joking - we're not. We genuinely dislike each other and our mutual loathing makes it difficult to do things that require a lot of patience, like hard modes, or achievements, or going to Ulduar, or basically anything but getting the raid over with as quickly as possible.
Shit I would love to keep getting Oculus for a random. I want that fucking drake. But all I ever get is OK or Strat the two longest and most boring instances to get

Not if you skip the bosses! I love OK now because it's a 4-emblem 15 minute loot pinata. You only have to do Taldaram and Herald Volazj. Also gives the DPS far, far less chance to fail.

Merf: Some stupid healadin wanted to do achievements in Gun'Drak, Less-Rabi and the stupid one with the last boss. Normally, I play along and do them because, y'know, why not. But when one of the first things someone says to me is "hunter u can use silencing shot to interupt" like I'm some kind of spellpower gear wearing huntard, I'm not gonna play nice. So when we got to the last boss, I just DPS'd like normal rather than wait for the boss to impale people.
Dick move? Sure. But that's what you get when you assume I'm one of those hunters.
Happy #1 : Daily Heroic was Occulus. Blue Drake, get !
Happy #2: Got invited to a weekly PUG to ICC 25. Only got 4 bosses down, but i've been invited for next week as well.
Happy #3: After this, we decided to try an ICC 10 group with the few guildmates that came back. Pugged two healers and a friend of mine, and cleared the whole place.
The Putricide fight is cool, and quite tense. My heart skipped a beat when one of our two tanks died when he had 100K hp left, healing him up to 500K, but we managed to down him anyway, in 6 tries. It was the first time for all of us, and it felt good.
That said, if some random puggie demanded some of the most annoying achievements I'd just tell him to go get a guild group. I'm just doing randoms for my emblems.

If some random puggie demands we do any achivement
Whoa: My resto shaman and a friend's prot paladin hit 80 yesterday, so after spending several hundred gold on our respective trainers and putting on what gear we had waiting for us in our banks, we decided to do some normal dungeons to get the rest of our shabby clothes ready for heroics. My friend was barely over 500 defense and a bit over 20k HP and I had a mish mash of ToC cloth, halloween rings and two crafted items. HoL pops and in we go, wondering why the 232 geared DK was in there with us but oh well.
One silly wipe and the first boss achievement down later, I suddenly realised this was a heroic. Cue the next 20 minutes of me frantically mashing my heal buttons as my friend gleefully commented on how he didn't have to use divine plea at all. I had early WotLK flashbacks on Loken as every nova would bring me down to practically no health and I had to pray nothing would tick until the timed chain heal went off.
Level 58 death knight, standing right next to me. Targeting me.
I debated charging him gold for opening a port, and then logging out. Didn't want to risk some kind of blizzard GM action for 'scamming' the idiot. Then again he probably didn't have any gold.

hate: tanks who are primadonnas and won't run any instance in which they see anyone in any blue gear.
Yesterday a Healer bailed out of HoL after seeing I was still wearing blues as a tank. My defense is over 535 and my health is over 25k. I really wish the random tool would send me into some of the easier heroics.

I don't hate you guys
But I do see what you mean. Some of the antics of the, shall we say, "more accident prone" members can wear on the patience of the others quite easily.
Hate: Oculus, what a stupid instance. The whelp trash at the beginning is annoying to tank. People in my group kept somehow getting lost while trying to fly their dagrons in between platforms, which serve no real purpose anyway except to slow down pulling. And the last boss is a gimmick fight, with a boring gimmick.
Hate more: I need 3 drops from there, 2 of them pretty badly.

Well... Yes and no. I won't name names but it's not like everyone in my group is best friends with everyone else. A lot of it is more a mutual recognition of the fact that while so-and-so may be kind of an arrogant and/or selfish prick, he's a GOOD arrogant selfish prick who has other redeeming qualities as well. But it's not all flowers and sunshine for us either. I do know what you mean, though. We do have SOME friendship even if at times it's strained and it's not entirely among the whole group.
It sort of bugs me how people get fixed into groups though. To be honest I really don't like having an alt 10-man group. It's nice cos it gets me pretty regular ToGC and ICC clears on my paladin but I don't like feeling obligated to do it, and not being able to go with anyone else's run for fun, etc. There's more people in the guild I like to do things with and I rarely have the chance anymore.
Hate: Forgot to do my random dailies in time tonight. Ah well.
Happy: Might have found an apartment. And if not, at least there's hope, cos I saw several nice options today. Fucking NYC is too expensive but hey I could potentially get back to my (non) life by February 1!
Hate: This queued up for a tank for heroics immediately after dinging 80. In the time between this armory and when i had the misfortune of pulling it as a tank it has gotten quite a few upgrades, but is still completely laughable.
I feel sorry for all those people who stuck with it, and let it tank instances for them. After pulling agro with viper aspect auto shot, I told it to put on RF. To which it's response was:

I've run into the horror that is DPS queued as tank/healer for the faster queues. What the fuck is wrong with those people?
There should be some punishment for this. Like the game could detect if you queue as a tank and then do not actually attempt to tank, and give you a one-day lockout on random dungeons.

had a group that wanted to do less rabi while i was on my enhancement shaman. they were all pumped for it. we even interrupted the third transform.
then he transformed a fourth time because while i was doing 6.4k dps, the other 2 dps were doing 2.5 combined.
the tank then rage quit and i laughed and laughed.

I have been on heroic runs where all 5 players were melee dps
a DK in dps gear in Frost presence, a ret Pally healing with DS and JoL
fastest smoothest runs I've ever seen, at least in instances below 232 content
It's no problem if the DPS is high enough to breeze through the content. A 213-219 geared ret pally queued as a healer because he doesn't want to wait 15 minutes? That's a problem.
Hate: People who abuse the LFD tool vote kick function.
Story: Got Halls of Stone for our random to get our frost badges. So as we're clearing trash our healer says that he wants all the bosses for the badges, but we don't answer him because we're chain pulling the entire way. Like literally, we never leave combat all the way to the gauntlet. So once we get there, we tell him, no we're just doing the two bosses and then we're out. So rather than doing the logical thing and staying in the group for the next five minutes it will take for us to do the gauntlet and kill the last boss, the healer runs all the way to the beginning of the instance (rather than just using the teleport function, no idea why) to go back to town.
So at this point we're pretty much being held hostage by a healer -- who is geared enough that we don't feel bad about badge-blocking him -- who would rather wait in town for the next 10 minutes than just finish up and get an instant pop healer queue. The thing is as the druid left, he started the event to spite us. Our group is comprised of a pally tank, me a rogue, a mage, and a DK. At this point we know that we can just vanish, invis, DI and not take a repair bill, but our tank just kinda says, "Nah man, we got this." So we proceed to do the gauntlet with no healer, the pally tank doubling as the healer and tank, and us dps using all our healing cooldowns available to us to live. By the end of it me and the mage die on the last wave and we finish it up.
After all things are said and done by the time we get to the last boss after clearing trash and healing ourselves the rest of the way, our debuff is almost gone. So we wait the last minute, boot the healer and requeue. We wait about 30 seconds before we decide, "Fuck it, we did the gauntlet with no healer, and we have ballin' DPS. Lets do this with no healer as well." So we start the fight and down him in 30 seconds, where we have a shammy healer join the group in the last 5 seconds of it. So he basically gets in to the instance and instantly receives three badges.
Hope: That the change the way vote kicking works so that it while the debuff is on, if someone vote kicks, it doesn't throw up the vote, but will at least register that you want them out. Then if everyone else votes that they want that person gone, it will boot them. It seems like a good enough way to do things.
Decided to immediately replace his Holy spec with a Disc one... which is interesting. Not sure my gear is quite up to the task, and it does shuffle with how I'm used to doing things, but I see the potential. It plays a lot like Holy but with a few different tools for damage reduction or mitigation. So far, I like it.
31 levels to go!
Late edit: oh, and I hit 5k gold finally! But I think I'll wait another 500 or so, such that I can empty the coffers without leaving any particular character strapped for repairs or minor consumables. Might not get there today, but definitely this week.
