Incidentally I've spoken to Dino Andrade (the voice of the Scarecrow and a good friend of mine) and while he's heard about the new game he hasn't been contacted about appearing in it. of course he could just be NDA'd up the wazoo like he was for the first game.
Fun fact: Dino also voiced Skull in the PvP animated series.

He was eaten, so I imagine he wouldn't be in the sequel...

Hopefully that just means they're not rushing it and it's a couple of years away.

That people believe this or still don't know his hand can appear at the end confuses me.
I kinda wish there were missions you got to play as the Joker instead of just rooms of baddies to beat up within a time limit or something. I wanna test out his abilities and I can't if I have to worry about points or a time limit.
I still think the continue screen you get as the Joker is really cheesy.
I don't think I was a fan of any of the one-liners the villains gave Batman at the continue screen. As much as people will find this blasphemous, I liked the Joker you could find funny in the TAS .
I'm not a big fan of the one that only finds himself funny..and I mean in the stupid jokes he thinks are funny/creepy sense of humor sorta way not the nihilistic Heath Ledger way.
I oddly liked Ledger...but than again its hard not to.
edit: I bring this up, because I didn't like a lot of the Jokers lines to dead Bats.
I'm not a fan of continue screen one-liners in general, just because they have to reuse them over and over until you can memorize them. It just gets old.
I don't even know who these guys are and why people hate them so much, but those Liefeld drawings and the guy ragging on them is cracking me up. Oh man.

"Played you like a violin, then cut your strings!"
Crocs were good, to me at least, because of my imagination onwards. The great Batman being a meal for Croc? Eaten alive? Thats a pretty gruesome way to go.

That just means you're not good enough. Play better. Or maybe knock the game down to easy. You big loser.
So I'm having an incredibly frustrating experience playing Arkham on the PC. I'm on the second scarecrow segment and moving along just fine when I get to this part where I have to jump up onto and hang from a ledge. Which I am able to do. Problem is, once I move (hanging) along the back of the ledge and around to the other side of the rectangular thing I'm hanging from, I can't drop down off the ledge again. No matter what I press. Anyone else encountered something like this and know the fix? Or is there some really obvious way down that I'm missing?
EDIT: Got it, apparently left control, in addition to being make latently homosexual comments to underaged ward, is also drop off of ledge. This is not on the binding screen nor in the manual.
So this is a curious question. I was thinking while playing the game how much money must go into keeping this inmates alive in Arkham. I mean Croc has his own lair. Obviously special precautions and habitats are needed for Ivy, Clayface, etc.
Are tax payers paying for all this? Or is there some private benefactor?
I'd bet Wayne Enterprises is the benefactor for a lot of silly things around the city.
Maybe the DCU inhabits a world where antitrust legislation is an unknown and Wayne Enterprises can put their grubby little fingers in everything just to make enough money to make Bruce look like the most awesome of awesome philanthropists by writing off so many donations and other secret funds. Just to maintain and operate the most porous of criminal justice systems.
And to work to keep others from building that better mousetrap... What a fucking dystopia...

It was founded by the Arkham's using their own estate originally but at the moment? The city and their local billionaire seem to contribute most of the funds. That's why Gordon, Kate Spencer (current Manhunter and Gotham's DA) and Bruce are on the Asylum's board.
As for Croc's lair, weren't they just some abandoned sewers?
And to work to keep others from building that better mousetrap... What a fucking dystopia...
For some reason this got me to thinking about the giant coin in Batman's lair...and where the hell it came from
Now I know the horrible truth..
Back to Croc, Unco. I was a bit unclear about the whole sewer deal. It seems odd that Croc would have that whole area to himself under normal circumstances...but you never know. And I mean as we established the whole place is bizarre. Aside from the sewer, it seems like there was a whole science lab dedicated to Croc alone- either studying him or treating him. Not to mention the Jurrasic Park-esque constraints and I would presume (normal) cell. Got to cost a ton of $$$.
They kind of hinted at it with Bane. But the only reason I could see the Government keeping these people alive is that someone wants to weaponize them.
Or going kinda bit further than Santa. Bruce Wayne and others form a secret group of extremely wealthy Illumanti that oppose the death penalty under any circumstance.
"Kill a hundred people and likely to escape, you're going back to the cell until you do young lady'
Ivy: "Poppycock!"
referencing a audio file where a Doctor talks about Poison Ivy killing hundreds or dozens. I can't remember the exact number.
You can't apply the death penalty to the insane in most states IIRC.
I don't know of many insane people that have killed hundreds of people... at least you know that got away with it. Don't you think they would change things a bit? Especially if they had repeatedly escaped + rinsed and repeated. Not that this is worth debating about. But its more common sense
Not necessarily worth applying since there a number of factors at work (e.g. antagonists are popular/add to lore, alternative universe, whether Batman is displayed as being part of Super-community or not, blah blah blah).

They won't die because they're popular. But yeah, it is fun going "Gotham, you so crazay."
Accidents happen. Or should. The Fridge Logic behind this is far beyond the scope of this thread.
Though, Croc's area was cordoned off with reasonable success to keep him from getting out, it was still far to large to be especially effective as a confinement. Who designs a system wherein a gigantic, living killing machine can roam around and then you have to send a squad of guards to find him, chain him, and then bring him upstairs for whatever reason.
(And, other than to introduce him as a combination Red Herring and MacGuffin, what the fuck was that scene for? It wasn't too long after that bit that Joker took over the place... How did Croc get back down into the sewers? Did the Joker literally not need Croc's mayhem so much that he allowed whoever was dicking around with Croc to finish up, send him back down, and then wreck that part of the Asylum?)
Or was this game designed around the MST3K Mantra and all of it can be quickly handwaved away with buckets full of asskicking?
The lab and all the shit designed to keep Croc around and alive could have to do with them doing testing on him. Maybe to see how he became that way, what's up with his DNA and organs and shit?

So, yeah, I got it for PC finally. How do you turn on phys-x? I can't find the option anywhere.

The question is to cure future Crocs or create more Crocs.
The big question I kept coming back to was, how the hell did Batman manage to build the second batcave (or the first, for that matter) without all the contractors getting wise?
It's be one thing if it were just a little cave with a storage box, but that shit he's got going on would take some major architectural engineering. And getting it into the island without guards, etc finding out?

Okay, got the update, and running with phys-x on normal (ie a single video card, GTX260 or greater). Man, it still causes some slowdown, but it looks so awesome when Batman runs through fog and it swirls around him.

You can probably bump it up to high physics and be all right. The hit between normal->high isn't nearly as drastic as off->normal. Pointless but amusing cloth physics also only appear on high.
Wait till you see Scarcrow's section, that's when the really cool (and framerate pounding) physics effects live.

Nah, some of those were fantastic.
"Aww, look, little Bats a-sleepin'!"
...
"Someone finish him off."
It looks so fucking good compared to the PS3 with no jaggies. All the little new physics effects really add some layers to environment.
I don't even know who these guys are and why people hate them so much, but those Liefeld drawings and the guy ragging on them is cracking me up. Oh man.

I like that one.
I watched one of those comparison videos; it's amazing how much they add on the PC version. Makes an already great-looking game incredible.

As in, for PS3.
That is to say, I enjoyed it so much that I have now bought it twice at full price.

dun dun dun
All of the graphics options are in the launcher.
I know. There's no option for phys-x that I can see though.
I'm looking at the launcher right now and at the bottom of display settings it has hardware accelerated Physx(TM).
because i hear that is pretty important
Not seeing it. And yes, I have a nvidia card, a GTX275.
edit - oh, it needs the 1.1 patch to enable phys-x.
