I can't get over how amazing this is. It's as if the game developers are as big Batman fanboys as I am. I mean, all the little touches...they have literally thought of everything.
I beat this game in two sessions finishing up today. I bought it some time ago, a little bit after release on PC and got about 35% through. Then I stopped for whatever reason, then I installed Windows 7. I had tracked down pretty much every single one of my save files before doing this so I wouldn't be effed on so many games. Fast forward to listening to the Giantbombcast deliberate between this game and Uncharted 2 for GOTY and I fired up the game again. Copied over the save files where they are located and TA DA - nothing. Save does not exist. Low and behold one of the super awesome features of GFWL is no save file reinstating.
So I started again. Got to just about where I was before the first day. Which was something like 15 minutes after Ivy is freed. I then proceeded to marathon the game today. Beating Joker and all around being [email protected]#$%ing Batman.
Now I've been spending all too much time in the brawling challenge mode levels. Actually knowing how multiple enemy combat is suppose to go down is so much more rewarding than my max out at 8 hit combos I made it through the game doing.

I ended up turning Phys-x off. Not because of performance (even the Scarcrow section didn't slow down any more than other phys-x stuff), but it was crashing. Is crashing in this game with phys-x common?
I'm surprised some of you are having issues with Physx. I'm running a GTX260, and I turned literally EVERYTHING on high/max except Physx I kept normal, and there was maybe one of two times I had noticeable slowdown. I even had an FPS monitor running while playing, and I hovered between about 45-65 the whole game.
Batman is now the first game I've ever got all the achievement points in a game for(GFWL). Am I suppose to start renting shitty games that have an easy 1k now and nose dive down the rabbit hole? Or can I go back to not caring?
While playing this game, the thing that has surprised me the most is who I've found to be the creepiest villian so far. It's not Scarecrow, its Zsas. His interviews are just plain freaky.

That's cause everyone else is a goofy guy in a costume. Szasz could happen to you.

Riddler's Interviews made him come off as if Jigsaw from SAW became totally unhinged. Would actually like to see that version of Riddler in a movie actually.
Okay. I thought it might be, but I wasn't sure. There's alot of upgrades on there for things such as the battarang, and I thought maybe I could learn some type of explosive battarang.
Ooh, battarang sprayed with gel, thrown at a wall and boom! That would be cool.

I thought the exact same thing, but you get something eventually.
Worth every penny. Easily went into my top 10 games.
Can't wait for the next game.

I turned phys-x back on and haven't been having any problems - even did the second Scarecrow bit with it on. How do you counter the shock rod guys? I always see a red counter symbol and it won't let me counter them.

You can't counter shock rod guys or knife guys - that's just a warning to show they're about to attack. You have to attack them either from behind (dodge over them) or while they're cape/batarang-stunned.
Red means they're attacking. You can't counter stunners or knives. You either can stun them with the cape and then attack or you can batarang them or you can use that batclaw so long as you don't attempt to attack them. If using the batclaw, just use it to pull them then find somebody else to attack. When the stunners fall down, they'll drop the batons.

I just remember someone saying about shocking them in the groin with their own shock rod, and was wondering how...

You can get your counter yellow and perform either a takedown or throw. The groin-shocking is a takedown move.

Oh, so it's one of those skills where you can build up a combo to do an instant takedown?
So, what's everyone's enemies list for the next game?
I'm thinking that after Joker, the next greatest "big-plan" organizer in Batman's rogues gallery is Ra's Al Ghul. So I'm wishing that he will be the big baddie. Helping him, characters who I think could make for some real cool boss battles.
Mr. Freeze (Graphical design in the first game was amazing. Arkham Island, Botanical Gardens...I'm already spergin' by imagining Gotham on Ice.)
Man-Bat
Catwoman in supporting/gray area role and a single Boss Battle, kind of like Ivy.
Seriously, fuck these challenges. I've never been one to get really frustrated with games (and I've played some tough games), but these challenge rooms are impossible. I know, you all have freaking Perfect Knighted all of them, but I can't even beat the 3rd combat room, let alone get one (or three!) medals. I feel like I'm missing some key component to how to get good at the combat, but every time I get to the 3rd round of the 3rd room, even if I've perfected the first two rounds, I die. Always. It seems like someone is always attacking me, meaning I have to stop and counter when I need to actually kill one or two of them. If I manage to not die in the first 30 seconds, I run out of time countering every damn enemy. In the heat of the battle, I can't tell if I'm about to be hit by a knife guy (meaning I have to cape stun) or a stun bat (meaning that I have to evade), and I always choose wrong. It's controller-throwingly frustrating. I've read the FAQs on combat, I've searched for tips, and I'm not improving. My challenge progress has been stuck on 20% for a week now, and after seeing how EVERY one of my PSN friends who have the game has 100%ed it, I feel frustrated and lost. It's making me not want to even finish the story, because if I finish the great story, all I'll have left is the shitty challenge combat rooms. I don't get it. I must be missing something.

Edit: Is it wrong that if someone asked me which is the harder game, Batman or Demon's Souls, I'd say Batman? There's something wrong with me.
Financial situation prevented me from purchasing this at release, but I plan to finally buy it in the next week or two.
However, when doing some reading up on it, I find all the exclusive content shenanigans (especially if you're a 360 owner in the United States) really grate my nerves. I can accept console exclusives. I don't like them, but I can understand the reason for them. However, having in-game content as a pre-order exclusive is extremely annoying and is a business model I don't want to see supported (unless said content is later made available to all as DLC--then that's fine).
Collector's Edition exclusive is also annoying but more understandable (though I feel it should have been something like a costume or something aesthetic and not actual gameplay). Besides, people would have paid the same price if it was just giving you the content early instead of it being exclusive, and then you'd also make money off of it when it becomes available as DLC to everyone else.
So far as the "Special" baddies go that either block or have a shock-stick you have to time your chain so you take them down when you get your meter yellow for an instant takedown.
I love wading in to a swarm of enemies, taking them down and as they all are laying there afterwards unconscious on the floor Batman just stands there brooding.

He also has the extra point, in that a lot of people who don't read Batman comics know who he is. Ra's not so much, even after Batman Begins.

Mechanic for the batmobile I def remember, and a bunch of guys kidnapped for a mining operation.
It wasn't too high tech, could have loaded up the bat flyer one night and done it over a period of quieter nights.

I never got my Freeflow 40 before, now I just hit 65 in the elevator room with the Titan (also beat it first try where it took me several on 360).
