Holy triple shit, nobody cares. I just wish the mods would make a new rule banning even mentioning the endearing KBaM vs. gamepad argument so people would get infracted for just bringing this useless shit up. Nobody cares if you think KBaM is the best thing ever. Keep it to yourself because your "objective" stance on the matter is wholly subjective.

    No, it's objective.

KBAM is much more accurate than gamepads in certain genres, and much less accurate in others. I'm going to guess that this mystery 360/PC crossplatform game where the PC players always beat the console players was a FPS or TPS and not, say, a racing game or a fighting game. Arguing that KBAM is inherently and objectively superior to gamepads (or vice versa) is both incorrect and asinine.

I've said everything you've said just a few posts up from the one you quoted.

Wait... we are using the term objective when talking about a post that starts off with the phrase "rumored"? There are no metrics, no verification if this story is even true and even if it is true there is no verification that gamepad/kbam was the reason it died.

    I love the internet.

The "mystery 360/PC crossplatform game" is probably Shadowrun, a FPS.

My purely subjective opinion as a potentially flawed individual is that I preferred keyboard for the predator bits and general running around, but picked up my controller for any large scale beat em up fighting.

It took a little bit to get used to switching but after a while it became natural. It was much easier to beat up thugs with the controller and the analogue sticks and much easier to predator it up/find riddles/grapple around with the kbam.

Blackdove your sources are so terrible they actually harm your argument because they indicate you do not have the thoroughness and carefulness to find a decent one, or even know what a decent source actually is.

I don't think so. According to his link, the mystery cross-platform project was cancelled. Shadowrun was actually released.

But to some dude playing a single player game in the comfort of his own home, it really doesn't.

Sure, no argument there. Average dude, average skill, it all "just works".

But when it comes to comparison and choice, one is clearly superior over the other.

Not really, you have to take player skill into account.

Having a better control scheme makes things easier doesn't make the person more skilled. Actually, you could argument that the person with the "inferior" setup might be the better player, but at this point you're just getting into semantics. Though, I won't argue with you that using an inferior setup does limit how far you can go before you hit a roadblock.

That being said, you and I simply differ in that I believe that being competitive only really matters against human opponents.

I just can't see a point in needing an optimal setup for a single player experience. But whatever.

Perfectly reasonable opinion of pointing out that gamepads work very well with Arkham Asylum.

    Dick PC edit response.

I don't see why it even needs to be a discussion. I will always, 100% of the time, choose a gamepad over a keyboard for something like Arkham Asylum simply because it's a lot more comfortable and is 100% functional. I have no doubt that somebody could just as easily top the scoreboards with a gamepad, but fortunately we wouldn't have to care about that because they wouldn't come here to preen their internet ego about it.

Do you have problems reading or something? You just called Santa a dick and then agreed with him. BlackDove was the one running around with his dick flapping out because he thought he, his keyboard and his mouse were the greatest ever.
