You have this gun that does massive damage up close and plink damage at range and a a new gun that does plink damage, fires slower, and is basically a long range, hard-to-hit-with flamethrower. I think if they decreased the afterburn time and made it do more upfront damage, maybe give a boost to the flamethrower somehow, it'd be better.
I like this idea. instead of new unlocks make the ones they already have not suck ass.

I'm having problems playing TF2, I asked some folks yesterday late at night and then promptly forgot what they said.
It's a slideshow, but my FPS appears to be normal and my ping is normal. It only fucks up when I'm close to the action like you would expect to see if it was my FPS but I'm looking at the numbers and they're not dropping to the teens like what the game is appearing to do.
The problem seems to be happening on only one server, but I think I'm dealing with the same problem when I play L4D2 but I don't have the numbers on the right hand side telling me things in that game.
I would be nice if I could play the game again normally for the update. I haven't played this game for a while, and I only noticed this being a problem yesterday.

Gas can. Hold fire to pour it on the ground as you run, when it gets lit up the fire spreads along where you put it until it burns out. Maybe allow the pyro to hit secondary fire to throw the can, and it blows up when the fire reaches it, spreading fire with the spread size depending on how much gas is left in the can.
Or instead of compensating for the pyro's mid/long range weak points they could have added a secondary weapon that enhanced close range capabilities further.
The axtinguisher is well and good, but what if there were a way to focus pyro into the close-range niche by giving him a way to close quickly over long distances? Maybe like a sort of jetpack to boost him forward at the cost of 50+ ammo? The ammo cost would discourage leafblowers from equipping both. An invincible pyro charge is probably overpowered, so what about something like ... 65% blast resistance? It would work something like this- you have this item equipped, you bring it out. Alt-firing would hurtle you toward an enemy at a punishingly damaging high speed (far faster than a Scout can manage). once you hit a solid object or enemy, you stop charging. You can then flamethrow / axtinguish the shit out of people. after all, you don’t kill a man by mucking about with rifles, arrows, rocks, or other long-distance rubbish.

The pickaxe is incredible, considering if a soldier is in melee he'll almost certainly have accumulated some damage, probably 100 or more (not elast from the rocket jumping).
Have to say, I'm really not liking this is of making melee weapons more powerful with a speed increase attached.
And really, a 16 stickies at once launcher? Really? I mean really? They don't do less damage or anything.

I suppose it depends how quickly it charges but if you can get +35% damage for yourself and at least 4 team mates then you could roll out some serious destruction. Especially if they are soldiers/heavies/demos. Not to mention it removes damage fall off.
So basically it's incredible and you should use it for the massive benefit of your team even if it means a small personal loss.

Yeah you're right, just read the text again. I still think its incredibly powerful, worth having at least one on a team.
Just imagine games with a setup time, no reason you can't buff your entire team just as the match begins. Its going to make the start of any PL map or...Well even more of a nightmare.

simply type 'rate' into the console (don't hit enter) and it should show you what you're at right now. If the number is low, there's your problem -- set it to ~25,000 or so? There are other rates too but I've always been murky on the best settings for those, you'll have to ask someone else.

Yeah, I'm expecting it to only buff teammates and not the soldier with the flag. I wouldn't bet money on it, but I also wouldn't be surprised at all if the classes do tie and both get a gun. I mean the whole thing has been based around the higher ups manipulating the players into fighting each other, seems to lend itself very well to the whole war update really. The numbers have also seemed fairly suspicious since the first day. If valve has had it planned for them to tie from the start I'll be slightly miffed but I'll be too distracted by two more new toys instead of one to give much of a shit.
Well changing the rate from 7500 to 25000 seems to have done the trick, but I'll post two graph screenshots, one in a mild spot and one next to the bomb cart in case I might as well fix something I'm not yet aware of or know how to solve.
