I've been sidestepping charging demos. When he's charging, he can't turn for shit. Running towards him, and to one side, basically guarantees he zips right past you.
I could see them reducing the % that the shield reduces explosives by Being a Bugle + Equalizer + Regular RL soldier makes me rage so hard against sword and board demos. Hittin rockets in their face for 30 then attempting to equalize them only to be decapitated from a mile away. I admit I shouldn't complain since I'm not using the shotgun which would help bunches.
And I believe that the shield should only be applied while holding your melee weapon.

Sword demos will start going down hard when the heavies get back
Gotta say, I'd be very, very happy if the Targe gave the demoman a movement speed reduction after his charge. He moves too damn fast, it's stupid.
I think the lack of speed reduction is to make up for lack of sticky jumping. It helps to get to battle faster, but isn't as effective or as fast as jumping. But you also get to keep your health.
Doublecross is a rad sniper map with all the demos and soldiers. Everybody's too busy worrying about all the explosive spam on the main bridge they just forget about the sniper looking at their main base exit, and if anyone sees you just duck off the battlements for a couple seconds and they'll go back to their business until PAPOW

Pretty much this. Every time I found myself pissed off at sword demos last night I would just switch to heavy and kill two or three at a time for a few lives. As long as you don't stay spun up nonstop and sidestep when you can see the sword charge coming, heavy is pretty dominate of melee demos. If a medic can kill melee demos by sidestepping and then kiting them with needles then the build clearly has some strong weaknesses. The real problem is that there's no class diversity on PA right now. It's all soldiers and demos with one or two medics and a pyro or scout, so as soon as people have had enough of the new toys games will start getting better. All that said, I do think shield should only be usable with melee and that the explosive reduction should be dropped to 50%.
Now, I know I'm a terrible spy, but sometimes I wish there was a penalty for paranoid spy-checking. It seems like since there's no downside to shooting/stabbing/flaming your teammates, there's no reason not to check every single person.
A lot of times it feels like I've got a decent setup but someone just stabs or shoots me for no reason. Très frustrant...

rely entirely on cloak
disguises rarely help you unless they just look at you for a microsecond
normal watch is generally the best for every situation, and relying on the revolver heavily will help
Here's some stuff that will make everyone get EXTREMELY paranoid about spies since the update.
Disguised spies can have your hat on now. They can also switch weapons now. So if you see a teammate switching weapons, before the update you would assume he is real. Now you have to assume EVERYONE IS A SPY

There is a penalty for paranoid spy-checking. Firing at your teammates takes focus and time. Taking your focus means your opponents can get the drop on you and taking your time means fewer unfriendly mans killed.

Spies have been able to switch weapons manually for months. o_O

You could switch weapons before the update by switching your weapon and pressing 'B'. I know I was killed a few times for having the axtinguisher out while disguised as a pyro after passing past a med cabinet and not switching to a flamethrower disguise.

Can't say I agree with this. I find the Cloak and Dagger to be infinitely more useful since you don't have to rely on metal or dispensers to recharge or stay cloaked. I can't even count the number of times I've escaped a failed stab attempt because I cloaked and hopped up on an odd spot. People always expect you to run, not stop almost immediately after cloaking and hang around.
Even if it takes you twice as long to get into position to strike on a single life, it's still faster than dying two or three times because a team is spychecking each and every person. Plus, you get to choose your moment to strike instead of a timer forcing you to make a move or be discovered. If nothing else, I find the C&D cuts down enormously on the frustration of simply getting past paranoid enemy lines.
I zipped right up to the last point of dustbowl and bottled at least half of the team. Before that, we had demos zipping up to the point, past sentries and their team. If that's not a chokepoint, I honestly don't know what is.

The Cloak and Dagger teaches you bad habits and thus makes you a bad spy.

Oh I guess this
Now pretends to be carrying the weapons & wearables of the target he's disguised as
from the patch notes was more of a "bug fix" almost? Basically if you are a spy disguised as SirToons you won't be using the Leafblower any more. It will use the unlockables that the person you are disguised as is using. Right? Am I misunderstanding it again?

It already worked like that. Honestly I'm not sure what they even mean with that sentence, when I first read it I figured they meant new animations but that's not it either.

Eh. I don't know exactly what they did before, but I know you could switch weapons, and I thought they matched the weapons of the person you were disguised as.
What's definitely new is matching the hats and accoutrements.

Maybe instead of doing what you guys do (essentially redisguising and "rolling" for a new weapon) it switches weapons whenever the person you are disguised as switches weapons.

They are 'king something alright.
In other news, I had my best time as Spy on koth_viaduct tonight.

charging demos? i'm so pissed i missed this update
The Cloak and Dagger teaches you bad habits and thus makes you a bad spy.
Using the C&D instead of learning how to play spy more effectively will make you a bad spy, this is not a hard concept to grasp.

I would totally watch a tf2 anime
tf2 will not be spoiled by that kind of shittery
There's absolutely no reason why they need to be.
despite raping me as heavy all the time when i was sword and boarding
i love you savoo
that doesn't mean it wasn't rape, though
If you hated it so much you wouldn't have kept coming back for more
