Help with PC copy of GTA and PS3 Controller

I recently purchased the GTA3-era games for my PC (Windows 7 Professional), and heard I could use my Dualshock Controller on the PC. I successfully got the buttons to work on my Device Manager using the MotionInJoy utility program. However when I booted up San Andreas, only the D-pad did anything, and when I went to manually configure which button did what, I noticed there was no way to get them to recognise the analogue sticks. Is there a GTA Mod or some other device I could get to correct this?

    Get a Logitech rumblepad. Identical to a PS2 pad but made for pc.
