So I've been burgled, about 10 grand worth of stuff was stolen from me, but that's not important right now. What is important is that in about 2 weeks I'm going to Spain to visit some family and my digital camera was one of the things that was stolen. So clearly I need a replacement for picture taking and such on my trip and my price cap is around 100 bucks. The last camera I had was a Canon Powershot SD1000 that I bought a couple years ago, so something as good as that or better would be nice. I'd just buy the same camera again, but since it's been a couple of years I need some outside input to know all the new crap out.

There are models of that FLIP camcorder they keep advertising on TV. The Mino appears right in your price range and the upper models are just a bit above your cap. Can't say how good the audio is on them but they appear ultra easy to use and the lower ends record upto 1 hour of video and the HD models goto 1 hour 20 minutes. All the software on the camera so when you plug it in the software loads and you can do editing or upload to youtube and such. You can demo them at Target if you want to check it out in person.
Just go into Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart or any of those and you can get a decent, but by no means great camera for around that price. A Kodak or something similar.
Hell most digital cameras under $700 are roughly the same, just with even more buffering between shots so you need steady arms and still targets.
I'd say just get a new canon powershot SDX12#x4mkII... or whichever one fits in your budget. It'll feel similar to the one that got stolen, you'll be familiar with the controls, the shooting modes, how it works... Since you're not looking to do a big upgrade other than what a few years of progress can make, stick with what you know.

They are around $79 on a good week but never more than $99.

I heard the magical words that makes every kind of hardware better.
Tell me more of this wonderous awesomeness that I can use to make a camera rock as much face as my phone/TiVo/Xbox/router/etc.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
