I just never thought it was too much trouble to include both options for people, personally.
Besides, playing a lengthy game like this on a desk chair can be serious murder on your spine. When all is said and done, I prefer a comfy bed/sofa and a large TV any day.
I just mean to say I can see how they came to the conclusion they did. I don't know many PC players that use gamepads for "shooters" or feed their PC to the TV. Sorry that it's not supported. A couch is most nice, I agree.
(I'm getting it for the 360)

I really, really wish they put more effort into the assignments. I've been doing a few that I missed, and though they're relatively fun, the lack of voiced scenes makes it feel unfinished compared to the missions - though the occasional breif/debreif via comms on the Normandy helps. Oh well, only a few left before I go on with finishing the story. So far, with the one gripe about the assignments, this games been a blast.

You really need to work on the ergonomics of your PC setup if this is the case. It just shouldn't be happening.
I agree with that. I have some serious back issues which can be an obstacle occasionally for playing games like Mass Effect for as long as I often want to. I was pretty surprised when I found out Mass Effect didn't support a 360 controller.

Why? My TV and PC are right next to each other, so if I want to experience PC activities on a bigger screen, a bigger resolution, and a comfier seat for longer games, I don't see the harm in that.
For stuff like Left 4 Dead or Team Fortress 2, the desk and mouse/keyboard setup is fine. ME is more RPG than shooter, so a controller is better suited.
I meant in terms of feeling uncomfortable using your PC for long hours.
Me - I've internalized the keyboard and mouse setup. A controller feels like I'm controlling something, the keyboard+mouse feels more like a natural extension of my body.
So just putting the final touches on L60 canon run and have decided that
my paragon Shepard will try to bring down Cerberus from within in ME2. Being a sole survivor from the Cerberus experiment in Akuze means Shep will look for revenge. His mission won't be complete until Bartlet screams in agony the way Toombs did. I hope Bioware allowed for this in ME2 but I'm sure the whole background story choice from ME1 will be conveniently forgotten about. Which would be a shame since it provides for motivation and a deeper story in ME1.
The current canon run feels a touch bitter sweet to know that he will die soon and be "rescued" and created into a super soldier by THE VERY ORGANISATION RESPONSIBLE FOR LIFE LONG EMOTIONAL SCARS from an earlier "experiement".

at least one of the hands on things I've seen mentioned that on a new character creation (I suppose it's carried over with an ME1 file) you pick among the original background choices again
So in that case it looks like the philosophy is essentially "your endgame is there to carry over your decisions, you can re-jig everything else if that's what you want"
That's pretty cool.

Maybe this just means they're with a different group this time.
I'm not saying it is going to be on the game, just that it is awesome.
Actually, I remember the devs talking a while ago about a song they wanted as the end credits. Don't know what came of it though, it was actually pretty nice.
it's still kind of situational for something you'd want to invest 12 points into, but it occurred to me that neither of the two classes that get it naturally are particularly point-intensive
neither the soldier nor infiltrator are all what the hell you can't possibly think I can afford that I have like six biotic attacks to max out here

You know, ME's credits were such a glorious, lovely surprise that I'd rather not know what it's going to be this time around either.

I'm excited about Tactical Cloak and body-specific damage because it will give me a reason to use my Infiltrator's rifle a lot more.
Also, I'm happy about not having to put points into weapons because my Vanguard won't have one biotic skill maxed while the rest are at advanced level.
I'm leaning toward starting off with the Infiltrator in ME2, despite having planned to use a vanguard for god knows how long. I really need to finish out my paragon infiltrator file.

Thanks Elendil, that would be sweet for those of us who've played those decisions in ME1 (that carry over to ME2) according to the background story chosen.
War Hero is kind of a lame background too. It's pretty much just that one quest and a handful of characters mentioning your medal. It doesn't really seem to add much flavor to the storyline. I regret going War Hero for my Infiltrator over Sole Survivor.

Double hate you. Double the hate is double the fun.

No. You won't.

That must be interesting.
I always choose War Hero, as it seems to align best with the current job, which is "Saving the Motherfucking Galaxy".
Stays within the context really.
But I play a Paragon saint.

I loved listening into a conversation a while after punching out that reporter. Ashley is talking to her sister over a comm link.
"I saw your Commander on TV. He looks pretty cute"
Ahahahahahaha, I never thought of it that way.
