Okay so I sold a old college book I had laying around on Amazon Marketplace, some dude bought it, I shipped it 7 Day select (instead of standard--what he paid for) to him.
Now 3 weeks later this guy is emailing me saying he didn't get the book, I called him and told him that it was shipped out Nov. 25th. and that he should've definitely gotten it by now, he said he hasn't and that he will wait for it for another week but if it isn't there by then he wants a refund...
I shipped the book....am looking for the receipt right now, i didnt get tracking or delivered confirmation or anything...what can I do?

You didnt ship it via the method he paid for, and you didnt get tracking.
You are pretty much shit out of luck and looking at a refund if it dosnt turn up
Huh? The standard amazon shipping is $4 and 15 business days and no tracking, I did 7 day ($4.68) select which is 7 days and no tracking...if anything I gave him better shipping neither has tracking...
I personally shipped the package FROM USPS not even a mail box and it was 7 day and its been 3 weeks, if anything this guy is trying to bilk me as there's no way the package hasn't reached him yet...
The shipping cost aside for a moment, the fact that you didn't get tracking is what's really going to bite you - you don't have any way to prove that he did or didn't get the package, and there's no way for USPS to find out where the package is.
Delivery Confirmation is, like, 75 cents or so...always get at least this or some other form of tracking on everything you send, for exactly this sort of reason.

Yes, he very well could be, but without confirmation that it was delivered, good luck trying to prove anything.
I seriously think this guy is pulling this stuff cause he I'm a new seller and this was my first sale on any online site...
Do I atleast reserve the right to deny a return and take a hit on my feedback? I don't think I'll be using Amazon Marketplace any more anyways because of the ridiculous "cut" (23%) they take.
Did you offer tracking and delivery confirmation and he declined? Then it's not your fault. As soon as it left your hands, your responsibility was done. If it didn't get to him and he didn't pay for tracking or confirmation, it's his loss.
no he did not pay for or requested tracking/delivery confirmation. I looked up the guy and it seems like he works for a Book Company, which only makes this more complicated as they probably have hundreds of books going in and out via mail.
I "lost" a 70$ book this way. Amazon will back him. Your only bet is to offer a partial refund because it is taking so long and hope that he will be honest in saying it shows up.
