wireless n issue

Hi im using a wireless g mimo belkin card and my gf bought me a d link wireless n card to match my d link wireless n router. my problem is when connecting to a paid server on 50mb broadband the wireless n card only pulls 13mb and freezes the comp randomly ( though this issue seems to have solved itself with a vista update) whereas my old g+ mimo card pulls 29mb. Is my new card possibly faulty or could my settings be wrong, please help.
