so...why are there two separate elected houses again?

There are two separate elected houses as part of a compromise reached between states with larger populations and smaller populations when the country was founded. Smaller states didn't want to join a union with the other ones if it meant that they would be politically powerless and the larger states wanted to have their majority mean something.

There were other compromises too but they were less popular in retrospect.

OOhhhh so the house of representatives is relative to the population but the senate is two per state?

    Correct.

Commonwealth Care pays the total cost of health insurance for qualified individuals who have income at or
below 150 % of the federal poverty level (FPL) and helps pay for the cost of insurance for other qualified
    individuals.

An individual may be eligible for Commonwealth Care if their family’s annual income is at or below 300% of
    the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

you get "free" state health care for people at or below the federal poverty level (i think maybe a bit above too) but it forces everybody else to buy into private insurers (and that is a Bad Thing)

No it doesn't. You can get it through your work, which they are now by law required to provide.

You're right about the free health care for people below the poverty level, but you can completely avoid private insurers

I guess it depends on whether or not you think it would have been a good idea to just let the idiot run portions of the "United States" side with Bizmark, Hitler, Stalin, etc. as they appeared in history.
