We just had a storm a few hours ago and when it started being strong I noticed that the place where I keep the charged (it's always plugged to an extension that's connected to the wall) was getting wet. I quickly unplugged it from the extension, and then I unplugged everything that was connected to the wall.
My main concern is the charger. Although I don't see any sign of burns in the charger, I saw that the part that connects to the power outlet came into contact with some drops of rain water. How likely is it that it got damaged by it? Will it be safe to charge my DS tomorrow when it's dried up?
The prongs got wet, on the DS charger? I don't think anything will be wrong with it, it's a good idea to let it dry up though. As long as your ds powers on and all that, I really don't think you'll have an issue, especially if the inside of the charger casing didn't get wet.
On the other hand, it's like 10 dollars for a charger.
Mostly the prongs, but I think part of the plastic also got a little bit wet. It got wet when plugged to the electrical outlet (though it wasn't connected to the DS), so that's why I'm so worried.
So there is no problem with using it once it dries up then? Thanks, I was feeling a bit scared. I can't buy online anymore and stuff in my country is way overpriced, so it would have cost me way more than 10 dollars to get a new charger.
I doubt there's anything overly sensitive in the charger, it's just a AC to DC converter, right? You could probably soak it in water and it'd be fine after it dried out.
BTW, we had never had such a strong storm before, at least not that I remember The water also had never filtered where the charger was, so I didn't take precautions before, but I will now.

Sadly, both of my GBAs are the first model that came out in 2001.
