I've noticed that subscribed threads that have been posted in since you last looked at them are no longer shown when you open the user panel. The subscriptions are still there and will show on the forums themselves, but at the moment you can't use the normal interface to track them.
Not just ones I've posted in, but all threads I've subscribed to since two years ago have disappeared from the usual "Subscribed Threads" menu.
Edit: Regarding jothki's post below, if I subscribe to threads now they stick (including ones I was subscribed to before that aren't there anymore), it's just that I don't see my old ones.
And I can track this thread, for some reason. No others, though. Maybe something got messed up in the default settings, or something?
Edit: Tried subscribing to the Steam thread, can't track that either. It looks like it might be that only new threads are trackable, and subscription date doesn't matter. Can anyone confirm this?
You don't auto-subscribe by posting in a thread you have a previous post in. You can manually recreate the subscription. Any threads you haven't posted in will be auto-added when you do post.
Yes, all my recent subscriptions have also disappeared. This is sort of strange...and annoying. Hopefully they'll reappear once things calm down this week.
I was wondering why nobody had posted in a half dozen threads in the CF forum when I realized that they had and my subscriptions were gone.
The only 4 subscriptions I had left were two locked threads in the PAX forums, the wysiwyg thread in Bug Reports, and my latest reported-for-Awesome post.
I'm just avoiding the forums until this is fixed or it's definitively said it won't/can't be fixed. I use the forums solely through subscriptions, and none of my recent threads are in my list, anymore. Interestingly, the only threads in my subscription list are 10+ months without activity. Nothing more recent. A clue?
I'm sure our lovely admins are enjoying their well-deserved holidays, but I'm looking forward to a resolution.

Go and put your subscriptions back on the threads. Voila, problem solved.

Do you know what exactly happened? I'm just curious.
When Ramius locked off the forums for Christmas the subscriptions were removed because the system won't allow you to have subscriptions for forums that you can't access. An obvious example would be that an ex moderator would lose all their subscriptions to threads in the mod forum
Seriously I don't know who designed vBulletin but it's pretty clear that they fucking hated me.
If an army of monkeys were strumming on typewriters they might write all the books in the British Museum.
vBulletin was an eight monkey job.

I almost kind of like it this way. It cuts down on keeping tabs on threads that I just posted in, but don't really plan on following every single page of.

You always have had the option to remove a thread from the Subscriptions list while in the User Panel.
The kick in the balls is that I just started relying on subscriptions about 2 weeks ago, but the inconveniences of re-subscribing aren't terrible. Can we reliably keep a list of subs from now on? Or will we risk losing them again for forum shenanigans? I don't want to build up an awesome list, only to have half of them disappear for the valentine's day circle jerk.
The blue dots stayed for everyone (I assume, I've never touched subscriptions and mine are still there), and threads get locked once they hit 100 pages anyway so it's not as if it's some Herculean task that you've spent years collating the best threads or anything.
I think it's only doing that for me for threads I was already subscribed to before the wipe. Which would make sense. I'm guessing the script only auto-subscribes when adding the blue dot, and if you're already dotted it doesn't bother doing it.

Why didn't that happen for Hanukkah day though?
I'm curious why you didn't use this approach for the Xmas forums this year, since it seems to be a less invasive way of doing things.

Because it takes an incredibly long time to do and then takes an incredibly long time to undo.
Christ knows.
Ahh =(
Well, It's not quite the end of the world, hehe.

He's not telling, though, because he's a birthday jerk.
All the thread subscriptions that I kept are from the admin, awesome, and archive subfora, so I guess that we didn't lose access to those.
