So tonight's the biggest night of the season for Clipper fans - the lottery!
Anyone disagree that holding the lottery in secret is dumb? It encourages conspiracy theories and makes the "selection show" far less dramatic than if the ping-pong balls were plucked out of the Bingo machine live.

If the Jazz win a top pick I will sacrifice my future first-born

Yeah its dumb. The NBA loves to get people talking and debating though.
I love watching it just to introduce all those sad-sack executives. They may as well say: Look everyone! These guys did a terrible job building their team and aren't in the playoffs!
Then you get the one guy there because he made a trade with the Knicks the previous year who's got a shit-eating grin on his face. I love the draft.

Speaking of the Knicks, the classic lottery moment
D'Antoni at the 2008 lottery after interviewing with the Bulls, then signing with the Knicks, watching as the Knicks get the #6 pick and the Bulls get #1 (Rose).
WTF? Stupid ESPN.. there's no guarantee the wizards are picking john wall.
They'd have to be pretty dumb not to, assuming they keep the first pick. Granted, they could try to trade back to get a different player, but that's rare. Nobody wants to be the team which traded back and missed out on a superstar as a result.

Its just that they posed all their questions as if it was the actual draft and he had just been drafted. Seems like an oversight to not say.... "how would you feel about possibly playing for the wizards." Instead, it was just like... so you're definitely going to DC now.
The WIzards would be the biggest, absolute, god forsaken morons of all time if they pass on Wall. I don't care if Wall turns out to be a bust, you need a PG with leadership skills that is'nt a fucking Mike Vick version of your leauge. They need to cut Arenas's insane ass out pronto!

they don't need another pg they need more "shooters"

I though Josh Howard and Antonio Daniels were their shooters?
Oh, nevermind, Josh is too much of a fucking silly goose to maintain any sort of discipline. What an embarrassment to Wake Forest Alumn!

I agree. With Gilbert's guns and John Wall's experience breaking and entering, they could become the next Bonnie and Clyde!
Joe De Rosa throwing a ball at a fan, then ejecting the fan when the fan threw the ball back is pretty ridiculous. Are there any refs left who aren't on power trips every single game?
That speech by van gundy afterward was even worse... talking about how fan behavior needs to improve. If I was that guy and paid good money to get that close to a ref I'd tell him he sucked too. Its a different story if the fan went on the court. Way to over exaggerate van gundy!
hopefully the guy gets comped or gets tickets for another game
theres so reason for the ref to ever have interacted with the fan in such a way much less ask security to throw him out

Pluto was a planet and I'll never forget
It's completely unprofessional of De Rosa to do that, but he has an easy out "It wasn't his actions, it was his words."
When that stupid play is the last play, the accusation will be raised.
I guess it's time for a new thread. Not it.
