Well that explains why neither of the Max payne games had been on sale before today. Hmm... I'll probably end up picking those up. Never played em on consoles
Meh prices on civ4, I think the whole pack should be 10$. I love it and own it, just sayin' for sales purposes.
Max Payne 2 is one of the greatest games ever, and people should play through it once just to experience it. Then get the cinema mod, and play through it again without the minigun. Then play through it on the hardest to get the alternate ending.
Some people do this just to hear the credit's song.
Anyways, I am having problems convincing people to buy L4D1 for 7.50, should I:
A.) Strangle them
B.) Maul them after tackling from a great height
C.) Puke all over them
D.) Throw large pieces of concrete at them
I played it at a friends house and was impressed. It has a real relaxing mood and the visuals are great. It a nice concept for a physics puzzle game and some of the levels are real challenging. If you like puzzle games its def worth $2.

Yay, a day I can go without buying anything on Steam! I'm not really interested enough in the Civ games to buy them, I care even less about FIFA Manager, and I own everything else.
Here's what I've bought through the Steam sale so far:
World in Conflict w/ Soviet Assault (was not a daily sale)
Serious Sam HD
Zombie Driver
Killing Floor
Mr. Robot
Jade Empire
It's been funny watching some old friends whose Steam accounts were previously dormant suddenly own 100+ games due to some of those crazy packages.
Oh god, if you haven't played the Max Payne games, you must do so now. At least MP2. Just be aware that MP2 does not run in widescreen resolutions, and there are no fixes or fan patches to make it do so. It will either run stretched, or you can set your video card or monitor to display the game in pillarbox.
I have a question for you steam veterans. If I bought the games on my laptop, would I be able to log into steam on my desktop and install them there?
(I was visiting my girlfriend, didn't have my deskop, and I got bored :P)
Yeah guys, Osmos is great. It manages to be challenging and relaxing at the same time. Very clever design, and it is very pretty. It is short, but it is also very cheap. Go get.

Yes, purchases on steam are tied to the account, so it will be available on your desktop as well.

It doesn't matter where or on what machine, just as long as you use the same login you'll have access to your games.

True. But CivIV and Beyond the Sword ($14 total) are all you need for the core CivIV experience. Warlords just adds scenarios and Colonization is a different game.
Is Civ4: Colonization any good? I own Civ4 proper and its 2 expansions already, but I never bothered to get Colonization. The marked down pricetag is pretty tempting cause generally speaking I'm a huge Civ fan. I own all 4 iterations of the game.
Damn their payment servers must be getting slammed, I hit submit and it's been saying "Working..." for like 5 minutes now. First time this has happened for me

Theres a demo for osmos, but I just assumed everyone tried/buyed it already. Just go ahead and pick it up for $2, if you enjoy puzzle games at all. It falls into the category of "good so just go ahead and buy it"
Edit: civ4 complete shows 26.xx on mine... $14 is alot more like it.

Same here. Trying to buy Osmos and Colonization and it's just hanged for me.
WHY STEAM WHY
EDIT: It went through no problems. Just need to be patient, apparently.

Edit: Beat!
My understanding is not just BTS > Warlords but that BTS == Warlords + more tweaking - scenarios. As in, no reason to buy Warlords at all.
It looks like if you buy the bundle it's even cheaper: $3.74 for both! That's $1.87 EACH!
Also, I don't own L4D yet, so I will definitely be picking that bad boy up.

I am also curious about this. Although I will probably end up spending the 2 bucks to find out haha.

And it looks like Civ 4 complete is only 14 bucks, so I'll be getting that.

Smooth move Steam. Smooth.

Jade Empire
Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box
Zombie Driver
Hearts Of Iron III
Lumines
Torchlight
Red Faction: Guerrilla
Grand Theft Auto IV
Defense Grid
All for a grand total of $49.17.
And in other odd news, as someone who never got into Diablo 2, I'm enjoying Torchlight enough that I'm wondering if I should be excited for Diablo 3.
Ok, looks like it's NOT 14 like it originally showed me, it's actually 26. ehhh.....probably will still get it.
Edit: What the heck? The price keeps changing.
I'll let you know. It's about 51% done.
gah! fast thread is fast.
Edit: civ4 complete shows 26.xx on mine... $14 is alot more like it.
The complete package was cheaper.
I guess they made a mistake.

This reminds me of the lyric "Buy beer, or pay the rent... My signing bonus was quickly spent."
Only in my case "Buy games, or pay the rent..." haha
