So do we have any dates set for new maps yet? I think I remember some bitching about maps being pulled out from release to be sold as DLC.

I don't really love the maps in MW2 but I have a feeling that's due to the craptacular spawning system disrupting the map flow rather than the maps themselves.

All they've said so far is that they're planning two DLC map packs and the first is due out in Spring.

    No... Wasteland is just terrible.
Mini uzis are great akimbo'd with steady aim. Works great with Stopping Power or Hardline too

I will have to try this. When I want to spew a wall of bullets, I've just been using my akimbo Vectors. A new shiny to play with should be fun.

If they're going with designs from the campaign for the maps, my predictions are:

    Minor plot spoilers
    - Invaded America, either a white-picket fence neighbourhood or White House or the nearby area.
    - The Oil Rig.
    - The Gulag.

If there's a CoD4 pack, District, Crash, Downpour and Ambush, please.

I'm not proud to admit that I played almost the whole day yesterday. Never played in Terminal or Highrise, my two favorites. Played way too fucking much Wasteland and Invasion.

The map rotation has to be fixed. Fucking game knows my favorites.

Wow I've gotten lucky today. Stole an enemy's care package (sentry gun) and dropped it just before he came and got revenge, then it cut him down and got the winning kill cam, challenge complete! Then the game after I salvaged a dead ally's care package (pave low) and got the winning kill cam, another challenge complete!

I swear the game is telling me "You'll play Karachi again, and you'll fucking like it." Because I've had times where it'll appear as the first map on rotation, then when the next map is vote-skipped, it's fucking Karachi again.

Wasteland can also be inserted into the above paragraph.

Estate I don't mind, because climbing up the pile of logs into the back of the house and flushing people out with my Striker is pretty intense.

My only problem with Highrise is that killstreaks are a pain to shoot down, especially the Chopper Gunner.

I've had about 4 aimbotters total since I've played. I don't consider the care package marker a hack since it doesn't require any modifications to the game but I do consider it a glitch that needs to be fixed very badly.

In other news, dual '87 use has become almost nonexistent. I see people with singles but that is about it.

Shadowfire, mine is the same way. I always get stuck in Wasteland, Estate, and Karachi (not bad but I get it way too much). I barely ever get any Skidrow.

Yeah they're probably doing some horseshit like the current time % # of maps = map you'll play.

What they really should do is keep a log for each player of when they played what map last and put up whatever map has the highest of the sum of all player's 'time since played.'

But you know, that takes forethought and software design skills.

They do. That's why I am convinced that it is a glitch. I get people telling me it is intended but when your character model looks like a contortionist when using it, I just don't buy it.

I believe that the increased speed was intended so that you could get away from the action and use your marker safely, at the loss of having a gun equipped (don't ask me about the character model, however).

Which is a benefit I don't think it needs. Use your damn eyes and the gun in your hand to get to safety. This is why I think removal of the speed increase from the marker would be a win-win situaiton.

It just doesn't make any sense to have such a ridiculous boost in speed just because you are holding a tiny smoke grenade. The fact that it does the whole contortion thing and that it doesn't make sense tells me it was unintentional.

But your point about letting you get to safety faster and the fact that it hasn't been patched tells me that it might have been intended.

Also, they need to give Lightweight it's 10% speed boost back. It was pretty dumb to knock it down to 7% because it was "overpowered" (hint: Lightweight isn't the problem!).

Fix those two things and maybe drop the accuracy of tubes and I will be a very happy player.

I think they're trying to figure out a way to cut back on Witchery. Because I'm pretty sure this wasn't an intended playstyle, and it's pretty damn prevalent (seems like almost half of the players in some games).

Personally, I think there are a few things you can do:

    - Kill care package speed boost
    - Make Marathon and Lightweight not "stack" (sprint speed is still normal, or not as much faster)
    - Reduce Commando distance boost

I can't think of anything else that wouldn't involve adding a penalty to a Perk (which isn't consistent) or adding a pause after sprinting before you can knife (which wouldn't be preferable either).

Seems like the dual-1887 crowd has either moved to dual G18s or dual Rangers. Wonder what made them not nerf the Ranger along with the 1887...either way, I think Akimbo as a concept is something they really should have tested more.

I wouldn't mind commando having a large range and becoming a sort of bayonet charge. The character rushes the target and doesn't lock on to anything. But you can't really change direction. So it would work more like the Targe in TF2 than the halo powersword crap we have now.

They should just nerf the knife altogether. It's meant to be a last resort tool if you're caught out. A silenced shotgun or SMG would be more consistant with 'modern warfare'. Hell, make the knife a piece of equipment and give everyone a pistolwhip/buttsmack option.

I like the bolded, but I'm thinking more in terms of things that would be relatively easy to patch into the current game, without drastically changing anything. In other words, things that actually have a chance in hell of happening.

But you could nerf the knife by making it a two-hit kill, just like the shield. Though man, would that piss some people off.
