TDM to me is just who can camp the choke points the best. I"m pretty bad at TDM so I just find myself sitting indoors in a corner with a silencer and hoping I dont die too much to give the enemies points. I love the sabotage gametype and it gets really fun if you actually play with people and want to fight for the objective instead of just spawn camp you.

Anyone got any good advice to easily get to the AC-130 kill streak without screaming at the TV? I'm about to just restort to Predator-Harrier- Emergancy drop. Thanks!

Yes, Sub base has an entire side (the best side) end up being completely untouched in team deathmatch. Seriously, did they playtest this fucking game AT ALL?

The fighting always seems to take place at A, on its God damn rooftop. I like sneaking around and flanking people, but I can't really do that on TDM Sub Base, as everyone is bunched in one area instead of moving around and giving me holes to punch through.

Suffice to say, I hate TDM. The only mode I truly like is Domination. All the other modes devolve into TDM, particularly the ones with bombs.

Have you tried demolition, it is what you get when you combine a frantic pace game of domination with active punishment for ignoring the objectives for more than a minute.

I'm partial to Search and Destroy. Only problem is the fuckheads who grab the bomb, and run straight to the enemy, go camp some godforsaken corner of the map until we run out of time, or otherwise play it as one-life Deathmatch for some retarded reason.

Not to sound like an asshole, but when I get the bomb the chances of the team winning are a lot better than when someone else does. Really, they could solve the problem by spawning the bomb to the side so the trigger happy idiots don't bother with it.

Also, it is me or is the Intervention becoming the signature 'asshole' weapon of MW2?

I personally think the Intervention is less annoying to be killed by, because it doesn't fire as fast as the Desert Eagle in Cod4, like the Barrett.

And rushing remains the supreme strategy :)

I played and enjoyed a lot of Sabotage in CoD4 (except for Bog :x), and I need to get into that again, since I've played so much Domination I need a break. I also want that Tic-Tac-Toe emblem.

I actually find myself really loving demolition. The game mode is kind of jank in a lot of ways but I absolutely love the mad scramble to plant the bomb or defuse the bomb.

Also I gave 3rd person tactical a go. It's actually... kind of fun. In a stupid way. Something about the half assedness of it makes it really goofy fun.

Although there's still no mode I've found that makes Karachi or Estate fun maps to play.

Estate is fun as hell, as long as you camp the house with claymores and a shotgun. People just don't know when to quit. They really should have made the house the centre of the map instead of making 80% of it abandoned of people. And it's so unbalanced for team games as well.

I'd be interested to see what estate would be like if it had the same features, but was relatively flat. No giant hill.

Also I don't really find camping fun at all, waiting around in a dark corner for someone to walk past just seems pathetic and/or boring.

I had the best MW2 experience last night. I just got thrown into a team with all of the same tags. They were speaking in lingo that sounded mad military like, actually saying "hooaahh" and such. After a few matches one of them sent me a friend invite and from then on I was known as "chum". Essentially, because I suck ass and draw attention. These dudes were fucking raping the competition, I mean no match in the twenty or so we rolled in were even close. Many times, over half the team never died.

Obviously you see where this is going: they were all Iraqi/Afghanistan vets/current service members that take this game seriously - and yet, lightly. It was funny watching them coordinate around me, the FNG popping his out into areas and opening fire for far too long. I was literally their bait. Funny shit.

Anyways, I had my best streak tonight, until the fucking hard drive in my brand new PS3 died a few hours into it. Good thing I work in IT and several on standby, just replaced and updating my games. Good times man, and really highlighted to me at least how psuedo realistic FPS's can be.

in team deathmatch, the house is absolutely the superior position

in domination it is not. C and B are closer and have more cover between them, making them much easier to hold together. the team that camps A will lose, and the team that only has A and tries to take B or C will find that it's just as hard to run down the hill as it is to run up.

I'm drawn to Witching because it's such a huge change of pace. What, checking corners? Just race round it and stab the guy at the other end of the corridor before he can raise his weapon.

I usually die as many time as I kill someone but it's not as noticable. The risk and the hectic pace make it alot of fun when I'm bored of LMGs.

Heh yeah domination also seems to have more reasonable spawns than deathmatch, plus less camping. The only thing I miss is the last killcam which is awesome.

The jump from the PS3 version to PC is fairly sizeable (I've gone from fairly even k/d ratio on PS3 to pretty awful on PC), but I'm noticing that tactics definitely change depending on playerbase.

On the PC version, I've had better games while running dead-sprint like a bat out of hell

Yeah, I need to actually play some TDM or something other then Domination as I don't think I have any of the killcam Callsigns. Maybe I will just start playing Groundwar so that I get a steady mix.

On the other hand people don't really care about your k/d ratio in objective games, unless you single handedly gave the other team a nuke or something, so you can still contribute while learning without having to listen to the bitching.

I've been trying to complete all of the operations challenges this prestige. I've gotten almost every one, but I'm only 24/50 sabotage to that title and 2/10 "kill someone while they're planting the bomb." The latter challenge is a huge pain to make any progress on.

Also, on a Bling build, what's a good equipment choice?

Jesus, did the rest of your team do ANYTHING? Because it seems like if one person on a team had 72 individual kills, the match would have been won before you would have been able to get that high unless the rest of your team was a bunch of retards.

I've played Ground War with PA and gotten 60+ kills multiple times. Domination, likely, or Headquarters.

my teammates were alright, it's just harrier and pavelow on afghan really do sweep up the opposition, its such an open map, and its doubly effective especially when the opposition don't have stingers. My tac is to stonewall the gas tanks on that map and pick off people from the high ledge. I was dropping predators directly in front of the aa gun and those sidepaths, managed to get up to chopper gunner fairly decently and the rest was history. I got a nuke in decent order, but I don't really like calling them in a heated game.

I was an m16 whore in cod4, and it hasn't changed much for me, save for the MUCH better ironsights. They remind me of the g3 ironsights from cod4, you have a lot better peripheral vision with the new sights. My playstyle for afghan was somewhat like this vid:

If I'm running AC-130, my streaks go UAV-Harrier-AC-130. It's not the easiest or fastest way to an AC-130, but the stream of UAVs helps the entire team and will total to more than one kill, which is what comes from 80% of Predators. Play defensively, but keep moving. Silenced weapons help, especially with Cold-Blooded. Rock an M4, an ACR, or a three-round-burst weapon and you can easily get to a Harrier.

Sabotage is terrible when you play with less than five on your team because the other team is just playing for the 20 minute, no limit TDM capability of Sabotage.

Holy shit, I just fired up CoD4 for the first time in weeks. God damn is it so refreshing to have 40 man maps, no noob tubes and no random grenades- whilst IMMEDIATELY banning people who do. The first map I got in on was countdown and the first line in text was the admin slamming some supposed noob tuber for not paying attention after numerous warnings and was getting booted.

The UI looks really dated but god damn is the game still as awesome as ever. Martyrdom still sucks ass though. Oh well. Yeah, after playing MW2 for so long, its clear that IW really dropped the ball and fucked up with the sequel.

And this is why dedicated servers could also be a bad thing. I think both methods of mp have their pros and cons. I use the m203 some in mw2 and so do a lot of other PAers I play with. This seems like such an arbitrary rule from groupthink.
