For Christmas my Sister and brother in-law purchased Amazon credit for me since I live outside of the U.S. and it's super expensive to ship stuff. They knew that I wouldn't be able to order actual merchandise because of shipping rates, but thought I might enjoy the video and music services. Unfortunately, when I try the Amazon digital video services, I can't view the video because I'm outside of the U.S. (I'm in the Eastern Caribbean). This is pretty disappointing because I want to purchase things legitimately rather than the easily accessible bootlegs sold on the street.
Does anyone know if I'm only restricted from watching the preview online? Or will I be able to watch the video once I actually purchase it? I don't want to pay for a video and then find out I can't watch it because I'm outside of the States.
Pretty sure licensing for distribution works on a national level. Which means amazon doesn't have the right to sell anything to anyone outside the USA from the amazon.com site.
There are some things that suck less for shipping than others though and if you have a "local" amazon site for your country you could try seeing if you can maybe transfer the credit to that site? I don't know for sure though.

You can setup a proxy in the us to download the videos and music, you might even be able to use your amazon credit to rent an amazon vps by the hour to do this, would would probably be fairly cheap depending on how long the downloads take. Depends on your technical skill though, I found this tutorial: http://sprayfly.com/2009/06/28/shell-script-for-automated-amazon-ec2-personal-proxy-server/
