Crysis 2, assuming it actually hits by December 2010.
If this hits consoles, I'm sold.
But the current state (or lack thereof) of high-end PC gaming is so sad right now, I can't see any reason to upgrade my rig to play anything upcoming. Especially how there's maybe 1-2 games a year (if that) that seem to 'push the limit' on your average gaming PC.
The first quarter alone seems worse than the holiday season we just went through..
The first quarter is what the holiday season was supposed to be. To avoid overcrowding November and December, the publishers decided to delay their games and overcrowd January through March. Brilliant!
I can't believe only two people have mentioned Red Dead Redemption so far. Although I guess maybe April is considered 2nd quarter.

It's the PC Gamer (US) cover story for next month. I'm still crossing my fingers that the level design isn't compromised by the lower RAM for the console versions. I just can't see the urban environments that were mentioned working out as well as miles of open space.
I'm glad to see that at least on this forum, there are people who still recognize Alpha protocol. Sure the fact that it's been pushed back a year from it's initial release date, and the fact that SEGA's been NDA-ing the heck out of it is kind of concerning, but it's still Obsidian, and I have faith it will have twice as good a narrative as ME2, not to mention that Bethesda game
Talking about Bethesda, and how they're not the ones developing Brink. Sure Splash damage got a bum rap after Quake Wars, and while it did have issues such as bad word of mouth from all the battlefield 2 players trashing the open beta as well as real issues like everything being calculated based on 30 fps. I still have faith in Splash Damage, at least for the PC version.
The first quarter is what the holiday season was supposed to be. To avoid releasing anywhere near Modern Warfare 2, the publishers decided to delay their games and overcrowd January through March.
There's also the heavily rumored Wii HD, which many publishers predict will be unveiled this year (yes, THIS year as it's now 2010 in my hometown).
I remain convinced that it won't be an up-to-date 1080p up-conversion with HDMI cables, and that Nintendo will sacrifice something from the vanilla Wii (Gamecube support is my prediction). According to the 4 Guys 1 Up podcast, though, they predict that not only will Wii HD support Gamecube games, but possibly older software as well (N64? SNES?), featuring lots of compatibility with older Nintendo stuff.
If they manage to pull that off along with the new Metroid, Mario, and Zelda this year, even I'll admit that Nintendo will dominate 2010, especially for the hardcore audience.

Speaking of other things, I remember Fable 3. I'm kind of on the fence about that.
I kind of liked Fable 1 and my only complain was that it was really short. Fable 2, on the other hand, just left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. So, I guess I'll wait and see what other people think.

Meh, nothing the Wii put out really impressed me at all, graphically or gameplay-wise, that weren't ports to other systems.
I've played most of the popular games on the Wii, and sad to say I had the most entertainment with the original Rayman: Raving Rabbids.
Just in the first three months there's:
Bayonetta (PS3)
Mass Effect 2 (PC)
Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (DS)
White Knight Chronicles (PS3)
Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
Yakuza 3 (PS3)
God of War 3 (PS3)
The only ones I know I'll definitely be buying are Mass Effect 2, FFXIII, Yakuza 3 and GoW3 but if I'm not incredibly poor at the time, I'll try my best to pick a couple of the others up. If Sony don't fix up Sega's shit port job well enough, you can take it off the list though.
Then for the rest of the year I'll be keeping an eye out for:
Alpha Protocol (PC)
Dead Space 2 (PS3)
Dragon Quest IX (DS)
Gran Turismo 5 (PS3)
Infinite Space (DS)
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP)
The Last Guardian (PS3)
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP)
Valkyria Chronicles 2 (PSP)
Not to mention all the DLC I'll probably be picking up. I'm really looking forward to the Assassin's Creed 2 episodes and the two RE5 scenarios (which'll hopefully be better than the actual game).
Edit: There's probably quite a few games that haven't even been announced yet as well.
Darksiders
Bayonetta Mass Effect 2
Dark Void
Lost Planet 2 Splinter Cell: Conviction
Halo: Reach Red Dead Redemption Alan Wake
Crackdown 2
Alpha Protocol God of War 3
Resonance of Fate FFXIII Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker
The Grinder No More Heroes 2
Fragile
Metroid: Other M Monster Hunter 3
APB
But I'll probably buy at least half of them anyway. And I'll probably buy games that aren't on that list, and the list of those will be just as long.
Re: Metroid: Other M: I don't know enough about it. Don't know how it controls, etc. And I've never been a fan of Team Ninja. But it's on the radar anyway, cause it looks hot and it's Metroid.
APB stands for All Points Bulletin, but the game is just called APB.
My brother's buying it, so I'll just borrow it from him and buy it for myself later on at a lower price. I guess I'll have to buy the DLC seperately though, which is a bit annoying.
Oh and I forgot to add Fallout: New Vegas. I'm really interested to see what Obsidian do, it's just a pity they're using Bethesda's ass-tastic engine.
I doubt it'll take more than a few months to localise it. They already got the english tracks and all.
Just wishing that there's some publisher crazy enough to bring it to australia.

I was thinking about getting the 360 version of No More Heroes to see what the hub-bub is about. But I don't know how good the game will play without the waggle.

It doesn't even play well with waggle. But controls are the least of its problems
It's worth going through for the story and style though, especially at a budget price
Mass Effect 2
Super Street Fighter IV
Red Dead Redemption
Final Fantasy XIII
God of War 3
No More Heroes 2
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Metroid: Other M (Metroid means its a day one. Team Ninja means I'm worried about overly dramatic storylines and Gigantor Tits(tm). )
Definitely When They Go on Sale (in order of "I might just end up Day One-ing these top guys"):

I enjoyed it, other than the feeling that I spent more time collecting Energy Shards than I did playing the actual story...

probably continue waiting.
fixed
I imagine working on Episode 3 would get in the way of Left 4 Dead 3's fall release date.
At this point, if it doesn't come with a new engine it will be a disappointment.
PLEASE.
Blizzard already has listed it as not coming out in 2010 and they never meet their deadlines as is.
In other words, Diablo 3 won't be out until 2012.

No way I can put off a Team Ninja-developed Metroid game. My curiosity won't allow it.

I remember seeing that trailer and thinking it looked interesting. But I haven't heard much else about it to put it on my radar.

The videos I saw recently were really cool. I just want to know more about it. The videos seemed to be very staged, even though it was all in-game.
Thought that wasn't confirmed for the US yet?
EDIT: Or anywhere but Japan
